I would love to live on the North shore.
The central coast is very affordable and the benefit of the beach helps but I would still love to live at least 40 minutes closer to the city.
Expensive though. :(

The playground isn't enclosed and the water isn't sectioned off. However, the place we will sit is indoors and we can barricade the kids in. We frequently do :D

It is quite hot today. I feel so sorry for my little man who's at his grandparents today. They don't have a/c and it's apparently meant to be 35 degrees out west :thumbsdown:

I'm doing ok. there's a/c here at work so not too disgruntled about the weather. Although I did get attacked by one of those stupid moths while going downstairs for a coffee :eek: . Looked like a bit of an idiot when I screamed :o

Cromeo- I thought we were the only ones up here with moth problems.
I don't know how they are sneaking in.
We have been reliant on air con instead of opening windows. When the windows are opened the screens stop the moths, but why oh why are they still finding their way into light fixtures...?
Mr. vacuum is gobbling them all up!
I'm getting so sick of them!

I hate the little buggers!! They're ick and I have nightmares that they fly in my hair and lay their eggs and I have a whole nest of moths living in my hair :eek:

And DH told me that there's restaurants that have them on the menu as a delicacy :barf:

We have to clean through our pantry weekly.
I must warn you, they are very good at crawling inside baking products, they are little suckers for the ingredients and they grow their eggs inside.

We had a nightmare of a night a couple weeks ago.

We went through our pantry thoroughly and found even packets of flour and sugar that had never been opened, upon opening were riddled with baby moths .
:( It was awful, we had five garbage bags filled with waste. Empty pantry which was scrubbed out and then the next morning we found more hiding in the corners. :eek:

So far so good, but I assure these wiggly moths are smart! Be sure to double check your food products before you cook. :laughing:
Especially the flours/sugars/grainy foods.
They are even good at hiding between the lids of jars.:cool:

The moths are plotting world domination on my balcony.

We had 40 or so of them fall out of the washing the other day (well, they were shaken out). I have refused put any other washing out since then.

And yes, I heard about the moth-eating too. That was ... er ... interesting. Perhaps I should charge them to come clean the balcony for me: there's many a dead critter there at the moment.

Ally: after the political threads, you should find it friendly and refreshing to visit a breast vs bottle thread :D

Ash: pantry moths are a different beast to the blasted Bogong things that we are having a plague of at the moment.

Make sure you take the shelves out to clean them: they lay their eggs in the cracks and crevices.

Also, invest in hard plastic, glass and metal containers with tight lids and put your food into those.

MOTHBUSTERS anyone?

aahhh... yes... It would be a good idea if I wasn't absolutely terrified of them.

There is a building in the city with an arcade that you can cut thru to get to the other street instead of walking all the way around the block. The moths have taken over the panel on the archway. It is literally COVERED in moths. When you walk thru the arcade you can hear the crunch of them under your feet *shudder*

Ick Ick Ick!!

I'm sorry to have brought it up as I now have chills crawling up my spine...

I hate those moths!!!:barf: Thank goodness i havent seen one for a while. A couple of weeks ago there was thousands of them! :yes: They seem to like hiding in clothes too. Everytime i got the clothes off the line i had to shake the clothes out! :banghead: :D

They are mostly gone now. I brought the washing in today and only 3 flew out as I shook the buggery out of the clothes on the balcony.

But now there's a new pestilence. Goddamned flies. They were in plague proportion on Monday - swarming in great clouds around Victoria Park,

Summer sucks.

Is there even a reputable bug spray/lotion, on the market?
Preferably something that isn't classified as poison so that way I can bathe in it?

I'm going to turn into a Howie from the benchwarmers movie, "FLIES! NOT A FAN!!!".

how are you all? next time I'm attacked by flies, I'll feel so much better knowing that I'm not the only one and spare a thought for all of you.

I went out yesterday and had both hands occupied with bags and paperwork and just you try shooing flies away then! I was walking around looking like I was having spasms cause I was shaking my head so much :hair: I was so distressed about the possible germs I could have caught that I went into Max Brenner and had a brownie and an iced chocolate to boost my resistance to germs. DIdn't work though:laughing:

I'd love to gatecrash a meet, if you're having one :D
