hi just wondering if anyone else has trouble going to bed at night, i cant go to sleep untill about 1am and with a 4.5 bub i get about 4-5 hours sleep if im lucky,i dont nap during the day and even though i am soooo buggered i do it every night.
i have been thinking maybe i am so awake because it is my only "off dutie" time(well you know what i mean)im only 25 and its my first bub, i dont do anything exciting usually just watch tele or jump on the net,
i know ill burn myself out soon but i dont know what to do,
please let me know if anyone has anything even similar happening to them

I know EXACTLY how you feel!!!! I'm not sure why I do it either but I really find that by the afternoons I'm exhausted but by the time I put bubs to bed, I get my second wind... I agree that it's because it's "me" time. I've tried napping when my lo has a morning nap and this seems to work for me, but then that's probably why I'm so "wired" at night!

It seems to be working ok now, but I know that I'll end up zombied too soon LOL! I think it's this site too... I'm SOOOO addicted!!!!

That sound like my life every day. I only end up having atleast 5-6hours sleep every night. DD is up from 6 am and then I go to bed bout 12am so I am up for nearly 18 hours every day. DD sleeps through so she doesn't keep me awake. I am finding that I am exhausted and tired every day. Maybe I just need to get more sleep or a day or two to myself so I can have some "me" time.

Im living on 3hrs sleep atm :(
Not because of bubs but just because i cant get to sleep !
Stress isnt helping i know this but ive never been a great sleeper so when bubs was born i guess i just got used to it.
As you said i find this time to be "my" time as bubs is in bed & have spent a few hours with my partner & now its all about me LOL but also i have to admit im addicted to bubhub !
I was supposed to have a full week off the site & yet still managed to have a look in every so often & make posts :o Just couldnt help it hehe
Best advice i can give is to try to nap honestly it will make you feel human again LOL but also to try & work out a system that works for you & your family.

Nope, someone's come along and has put something in the water so we never sleep again... aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! including two year old miss who seems completely wired to watch My Little Pony dvd's and flatly refuses to go to bed. Little two week old bub is awake too and it's now 1.30am:eek:

Hi Rylea'sMum
Not exactly the same situation as you, but I found I had trouble getting back to sleep after feeding bub in the middle of the night. I bought some aroma therapy oil from the perfect potion shop. The oil is called "Hush" and I found it really helped. Dab on your pulse points before going to bed (or getting back to bed in my case) and it REALLY helped me.

They have shops in Bris-vegas and a website where you can look up the details: http://www.perfectpotion.com.au/

Cheers

Me too!
I have a 2.5 yr old and a 13 month old.
Even when i do decide to have an early night i find i can't get to sleep and end up on here any way lol.
Df gets home from work at 12am and i am usually still sitting up here!
I think df need to hide my laptop for a day so i can get some sleep;)

You could also look at your iron levels. Lack of iron can be a cause of insomnia.

I was a bit the same until just recently. My ds who is 10 months has only just started sleeping ok(still not great) and I think I have finally relaxed about this fussy baby. So now its ok to sleep. He is also sleeping more during the day time and I find I dont need so much me time anymore. I go to bed and read now which is something I havent done for years. Helps me sleep and entertains me too. There are other things that help you sleep and are entertaining, try that.;)
