Is your baby screaming a lot?? If you are worried just wake him for a feed. Usually babies tell you when they are hungry though. 15-20mns on each side sounds about right.
Sounds perfect Hayles, can you tell Isaac how to do it? :D
The weight loss is normal for the first week, they can lose up to 10% of their birth weight and should be back to their birth weight by two weeks. Although fatty Isaac had already gained at 5 days - up to 4.37kgs  I must be getting some arm muscles in there somewhere. :)
sounds good to me too Hayley,
he'll let you know if it's not enough!
Sounds like you're going well.
With Hugh I used to panic he wasn't feeding as much as the books said he should be but he continued growing- and had plenty of wet & dirty nappies to show for it!
I had Seth weighed at 6 days and he'd lost 400grams, which was 11% of his birth weight. He was exactly like Aston- happy to sleep for 4 hrs between feeds, up to 5 hrs at night. I didn't think much of it but the midwives were concerned and told me to wake him for feeds and feed every 3 hrs. The paediatrician also wanted me to top up his feeds with formula- I said no thanks, so have been trying to express but can't get much out.
He will be weighed again on Monday. I hope he's put weight on, otherwise I may have to use medication to increase my milk supply.
It's so hard not to stress especially when the medical staff get worried.
Hayles when he got weighed was the midwife concerned?

as long as he seems happy, and u c 6 - 8 wet nappies each day, he's going beautifully
he'll start to put all that weight back on, and more, very soon, and then you'll have a nice chubbabubba

Hey Hayles:
Jasper is sleeping well at night and last night went nearly 6 hours between feeds, on average at night he goes about 5 hours between feeds but during the day he is alot more constant and feeds alot more often. Most of the time during the day he goes 3-4 hours between feeds but sometimes he needs a top up after 2 hours, the community nurse said that this is fine for us as he is sleeping so well at night and putting on weight he is using the night to sleep and the day to feed which I don't mind about at all as I am getting enough sleep at night.
I am getting Jasper weighed tommorrow so we will see how much weight he has put on but I am certain he has put a bit on since he was last weighed. At the hospital he had only lost 200g from his birth weight and they said he could of lost nearly double that!!

Myfanwy only sucks for about 15 mins ( a good suck), then does the comfort suck for a bit more.
I then change her nappy and offer her more after that.
She put on 420gms in 8 days and i actually thought she might lose weight.
She is just a very efficient eater.
She goes about 2 hrs between feed during the day and 3-4 hrs at night.
