I would freak out for a while and then I'd be really excited. It would mean buying double cloth nappies. :smiliedance:

I'd probably be really pre-occupied with the birth to be honest. I'd be worried about them being pre-term and the implications for a natural birth. I would be straight away looking for a home birth midwife who would attend a twins birth.

I think it would be lovely but it would take time to digest it all.

The only thing that would worry me with having twins would be the whole pram issue but I'm sure you can find prams to fit two babies and a toddler...

I would be excited and in shock!!!

When I was actually told I reacted with shock and disbelief. I laughed then cried. Then I went home and sat on the couch for what seemed like two days solid, staring at my big toe. When I came out the other side I was thrilled, then very excited to discover they were identical.

I was in shock and disbelief!

When I had my booking in at 12 weeks I asked her how many babies she could see. As I have a family history of twins (as you would know Duchessa twins can only "run" on the mother's side of the family)

She told me "no I can only see one"

So when I went back for my 16 week scan the guy said "oh I'm so sorry we can't do the scan today as you are to far a long with the twins"

 WHAT?

Oh don't you know you are having twins?

Mmm NO!

So after a big cry I was fine to go home I rang my DH at work and told him that we where having twins. And he thought I was joking around with him

Everyone in my family was shocked too

I was in shock and a little excited.
I was also very happy they are my little miracles.

Dh and i were totally shocked and started laughing because he and his brothers had been teasing me the night before about twins and telling me that it would be SO funny if i was to go into my ultrasound and find out we were having twins.
Well we were in shock the next day when that actually happened:eek: I was 11 weeks and as soon as the tech put the doppler on my belly we saw two sacs with two little babies and i thought i was seeing things at first until dh asked if there were two and sure enough she said "congrats you're having twins".

i was certainly relieved this time to find only one baby at my 12 week ultrasound lol.

My mum was with me at my 12week ultrasound on April fools day and the lady asked me "has your morning sickness been very severe?" to which I replied yes its been terrible why is it twins? her answer obviously was yes. Both my mum and I just said OH S***. I was very shocked, scared, excited and a whole lot more all at once.
When I rang my husband afterwards and told him it was twins he thought it was a april fools joke, when he got home from work I asked how he was feeling about the news and he was like it was a april fools joke your only having one. I had to show him the pictures to make him believe me.

Is it bad that I find all your stories so familiar but also so funny? Why is it that everyone thinks it is such a joking matter?

When I rang to tell mum, my step father answered the phone and before I could say anything he joked "So is it triplets?" To which I replied, "no twins" - I've never seen the mirth dry up so quick :D

I was told the news at 8 weeks. I thought I was miscarrying and was going to be told that it wasnt a viable pregnancy, thats why I had an early scan, couldnt have been further off the mark really.

When I rang my DH, who was away (how unusual) he said one word beginning with F and ending in K and said I'll ring you back. He took half an hour to call back I might add.

I think you're missing one choice - that's 'denial'! I am still in denial and they're 5 years old!!!

my first pregnancy i fell with twins....

i always said that i didnt care how many sets of twins or even triplets i had as long as it wasnt my first...

i wanted to get some experience in first...

unfortunantly though i lost them at 14 weeks and was distraught.

maybe i didnt mind having twins for my first afterall:crying:

SHOCK!!!

hahaha...

theres no twins on my side of the family, didnt think I would ever end up with twins.

I cried as soon as I got in the car, and could hardly see my way home. WHen I told DH he had a HUGE grin, and thought I was joking. I told mum, she laughed, so I cried more!

we wanted a 4th to have an even amount, but it was 4&5..

thought one HAD to be a girl, but nope, both boys (fraternal) so that took it to 5 boys.

they were so easy as babies, and toddlers, but once they got to about 3.... umm.... yes... well they havent stopped.

they are the best of friends, or the worst of enemies, nothing in between with them. they love being together, but have reached the stage where they like to dress different now

I don't have twins but DH does from his previous marriage.....Also DH has twin sisters and one of his twin sisters is married to a twin......Kinda weird huh?

I think I would be in shock and disbeliefe if I ever fell with twins. But no more kidlets here 4 is enough.

I have that one too. Awesome pram.

When I found out we were having twins I was having my ultrasound to figure out dates because we were very surprised. I at first did not believe, but a few minutes later all i could do was lye there saying "how am i going to cope?" I was worried for most of my pregnancy and so did my darling hubby.

Every time somebody said "oh gee your going to have your hands full" I got more depressed.

HOWEVER....

Now that they are here I really would not take them back for the world. I am SO lucky to have such pretty little girls and my hubby is delighted :flowerz::flowerz:.

twins are a blessing.
