just wondering if anyone has used that product from the pharmacy called boost your diet
what is it?
does it work?
how much does it cost?
love to hear some feedback from anyone who has tried it.

Is it the one on the ads you mean? "Ask your pharmacist how you can boost your diet"?? It's a pill (i can't think of the name of it, something with a Z in it.... real Placenta brain going on with me lately) it basically increases the speed that fat metabolises in your system. And if you eat too many grams of fat in a day, you'll get faecal incontinence and possibly vomiting. And it's pretty expensive. I never used it, because of the cost factor. I think it was over $70 a month, which I just couldn't justify.

Don't quote me but I think its Zenical, my mum used it & it was quite expensive but did have some good results. Not sure if this is the same thing though, so you may need to talk to your pharmacist.

I asked my best friend about this the other day (she is a pharmacist). It is a pill called Zanical (not sure of spelling), cost around the $100 (give or take a few either side) per month. While it is good for some it isn't for everyone... apparently it isn't good if you have fish n chips for dinner lets say... cause if you do be prepared to get comfy on your loo!

Brooke is correct my mum is taking and lost 4 kgs in a month , it is supposed to eat the fat in the food you eat, something like that so i suppose im my case it would be perfect for when i snack in front of the t.v at night. It costs $130 mnth the problem is unless you change your diet its all going to go back on afterwards as it is absorbing the fat from the food.

I was in the chemist today, and said to my girlfriend I wanna ask about the boost thing but chickened out..lol
So do you need a script or can you buy it off the shelf...I think I need a few sessions on the loo to scare me into not eating junk!!

It's Xenical... You can buy it off the shelf, dont need a script. My Mama and Fiance both tried this, and were stuck on the loo regardless of what they ate!

lol sorry had to giggle...sounds like a glorified laxative!

My mother went on this stuff apparently it reacts with you're bowel if you normaly eat fatty food or eat at fast food outlets such as Maccas (like more than once a month.....). Basically if you don't have good eating habits this stuff will only give you the runs!

i'm VERY wary of any pills that help u lose weight. not enough research (over a suitable length of time) has been put into them - who knows what some side effects may be in the future?!!

i know of a famous actress in singapore who was taking diet pills & ended up with kidney/ liver (can't remember which) failure & almost died!! these pills were available to many countries, but i believe they were banned shortly after the incident!!

i'm just VERY wary of any drug, i don't even take panadol unless i'm DYING ;)
