I had an ultrasound 3 weeks ago which came back with "Probable dermoid cyst" and I was told by the lady performing the ultrasound that i had to get it treated right away as it was about 6cms
Mr dr refered me to a gyno who took immediately said "lets wait a month and redo the ultrasound" he then gave me an internal (and didnt even give me a blanket to cover me) and said "oh its not that big". (I was annoyed because ultrasounds mean drinking lots of water and driving on a full bladder and i cant do this and hubby cant take time off work because he just started and i have a teethign baby so cant go alone anyway)........he then decided to send me to our local womens hospital because i kicked up a stink about waiting (I had been told by the ultrasound technician not to wait to get it treated)......when i got to the hospital they did a blood test to test for cancer then sent me home with the promise that i would get a clinic appointment soon-that was 2 weeks ago!
since before all this and now i keep getting pains (especially after anything penetrates the vaginal area and after exercise which is annoying as i do dancing), my periods are very painful, short and extremely irregular, i get nausea and heart burn all the time.
Has anyone else had a dermoid cyst/probable dermoid cyst? How were they treated?
Should i seek a second opinon?
Can ultrasound technicians and specialists make mistakes?
