Hi

Just wondering who has felt movements yet? I can't wait to feel something and hope I do soon! I'm 15 weeks today but worried that maybe all the excess fat from #1 will make it harder to feel?

Not yet. I'm 15 weeks tomorrow, and apparently have an anterior placenta, so may have to wait a bit longer than others. So excited to feel it though...

I first felt mine about 2 weeks ago. With the twins, who were my first preg, I wasn't sure that I was feeling them until about 17 weeks. It definitely takes a LOT longer with first bubs usually.

Don't think so.

I thought I felt something about 10 days ago but I really think it was too early, and I have an anterior placenta as well so I know it is going to take even longer than normal.

I've been feeling movements for a couple of weeks now, at first I wasn't sure, but now they are frequent and obvious. With my first, I don't think I felt anything until about 17 weeks (or maybe even later?), but this one has been really early - I was really surprised.

My son was VERY long at birth (he set a record where he was born :o), so I wonder if this one is also long and perhaps thats why I can feel it so much?

Or maybe that has nothing to do with it either :o

I've been feeling slight movements for about two weeks now, and they are getting more frequent. It's not like kicks though, its like when the baby turns over - usually either when something is pressing on my tummy or if I lay still and am not distracted I notice it. Cant wait for stronger kicks though!

I've been feeling little movements for a few weeks.

I'm big and I can feel it already. But with my first DD I didn't feel her move until 20 weeks.

i'm still waiting...i'm 17 weeks along and haven't felt anything at all, whereas all my friends with first babies felt them move at 15-16 weeks.
i had a dream the other night that bub was kicking and my family and i were so excited...then i woke up and realised it wasn't real :(

I've been feeling movements for a couple of weeks now, but this is bub number 4 for me so I know what to expect.

It will take longer for your first bub, most likely due to not recognising the sensations.

I've been getting the little "pops" and the rolling feelings when I'm sprawled on the couch!

They're one of the few things I love about being pregnant!!

Be patient, it will happen and then when you're 36 weeks and trying to sleep at 3am while your little one has a dose of hiccups for 2 hours, you'll be wishing for these quieter days back again lol!

You probably were feeling it in your sleep - that is probably why you were dreaming it! It will happen vERY soon.

Yep, I first started feeling tiny, TINY little flutters around 16 weeks, and after that they've just gotten stronger until now (18 weeks) I can feel definite "kicks" while lying in bed at night. The kicks are very light and soft, and sort of like a moth bumping against the walls of my belly, or being "flicked" or 'pinged' with a finger. The baby's really active at night while I'm at rest, I've heard they get rocked to sleep during the day by your movements!

I've been enjoying at night sort of lying half on my stomach with my palm trapped underneath my belly, because I can really feel the little "dadunk dadunk" against my hand then. It's really extraordinary :) :)

My OB said 20 weeks was normal for a first pregnancy, and didn't believe me when I said I was feeling flutters at 16 weeks. It's definitely early to be feeling it at 16-17 weeks let alone 15wks, so I wouldn't worry that you're abnormal.

I first felt something at about 16 weeks and have been noticing it more and more. I really notice it when I lay down or when I just get into bed, as someone else said its probably because i am not distracted by other things....it kind of feels (to me) like bubbles or butterflies in there...its beautiful! :p

I'm holding out hope it will be soon as this is my 2nd. I was really wanting it for something good to happen because I was sick with ms etc but now that seems to have gone I've become a bit more patient :)

I dunno, I'm hoping you folks can help me :) On about four random occasions I've felt something, but I don't know if it is the baby, coz I've never been pregnant before.

It feels like this little zing, a teeny tiny lightning bolt, similar to the feeling I got as a little girl when I'd stick my finger really far into my belly button. I guess its the baby because I've never experienced a sensation like that before. It makes me giggle.

LOL demeter. Sounds like bub moving to me!
I remember with my first pregnancy, I felt movement at 16 weeks & everyone told me it was just wind (I think I would know if it was just wind). This time I "think" I felt movement at about 15 weeks, but nothing definate until about a week ago. It have to sit really still & concerntrate to feel it, but it is definately there.

I can't wait to start feeling the big rolls & kicks again!

I'm just over 17 weeks and haven't felt anything yet. This is my first pregnancy and people tell me I've got qute a large bump early on, but no, no movements I've noticed so far! I hope they start soon, it will make the whole experience that bit more "real" for me.

Is there a certain number of weeks that I should start to wonder why I haven't felt anything?

demeter

I think everyone will vary a bit Pod, I hear anytime after 14 weeks, one site I saw said most women feel it around 17 weeks.

I had to laugh last night. After logging off DH and I were lying in bed, his hand on my little bump and there could be no doubt that there was a baby moving in there! He could feel it pressing against his hand when I felt those zinging sensations :babydust2:pure magic.

I feel better after reading this!

I always feel mine at 14/ 15 weeks... and being #7 was shocked that I still feel nothing.

I wont flip out quiet yet...I'm 17 now... so will think positive for a couple more weeks.

This bub is sitting differently to the rest... really low atm... the ultra scan cant see some of it cause it is below the pelvis... so that might be why

For those of you who (like me) are still waiting to feel anything, I saw my doctor last thursday and she says 18-20 weeks is probably the most common time to feel movement for a first baby. We didn't talk about 2nd (or 7th!) babies though so I can't comment on a typical time for you mumof6! She did say that the position of the bub and which way they're facing makes a difference, so if your bub is is sitting low that could definitely explain why you haven't felt anything yet.

I'm really looking forward to feeling that magic you describe demeter :babydust2:

I've felt a little bit of movement here and there the last couple of weeks, but I felt more the first time around with DS.

I think this has a lot to do with my activity level. First time round I was sitting at a desk and fairly still a lot of the time.

This time I'm chasing DS around and moving most of the day, only really sit down to eat or feed DS etc. When you move around it has like a rocking/settling effect on bubs, so they tend to be still more.

That's why they tend to go crazy with movement more at night after you've gone to bed, because you stop moving around and relax you're body more.

I loved the movement but must admit DS was a VERY active baby and beat the cr@p out of me a bit. Maybe this one will give my ribs a bit of a break!

Nope, still haven't felt anything... at 17 weeks. I'm not sure what I should be looking for though. Will I know when it's bubs moving, or is it easy to mistake for digestive feelings? Does it hurt? Oh gosh, I have no idea what to expect!

I'm 19 weeks and a bit now, and still nothing! However, like you mahna, I have no idea what to expect. I have quite an active digestive system generally, and before falling pregnant have always felt a lot of stuff going on in my belly. Even that seems to have stopped now though! I've been really trying to concentrate on distinguishing movement in there, but no luck picking it out yet... :(

hopefully soon :fingerscrossed:

i have had a rolling feeling for a while and ummm its hard to explain....when i bend down sometimes i can feel a little lump in my belly and others i dont so i am guessing bub moves positions.

last night i felt more rolling plus flutters for about 10 seconds but that would be the first time i REALLY noticed something IYKWIM.

like elissas i dont really stay still long enough to feel something. even when i go to bed im tossing and turning....for some reason i just cant stay still :D

I am the same as you elissas. I remember feeling more movement with DD. I didnt think about my activity level but that definately makes sense...

I have been getting a bit more movement now. I usually notice it more at night after a big meal & only for a hour or so then it stops. My movements usually feel more like a little bump. Like a twitch maybe... I can tell it is the baby & not digestive feelings because of where it is. Is it up too high to be my bowels. I do think I felt a little roll last week tho. It was pretty cool!

I was feeling slight movements very rarely until the u/s on Friday. Now I feel her every day and its quite noticeable. Mostly its always been when I've been bent over or leaning forward.

I think its because I was anxious about the baby because I wasn't feeling much (I was with the other 3 by 16wks), but now I saw that she is doing well I'm not concerned. The placenta is anterior which explains it, too.

I think MAYBE I could be feeling something right now, sitting hunched over at the computer, but I really have NO idea what to expect, so not sure if it is just something else. But the feeling does seem to be in the same position as where the GP just put the heart rate dopler only a few hours ago, so MAYBE......!

I just dont know!

I'm almost 17 weeks now and I dont think I've felt any movements (but wouldn't know, cause I've never felt them before and dont know what to expect).

I just feel a pulsating down in my belly like the (increased) blood supply going to my placenta. it's a weird feeling, it has to be blood flow 'cause it corresponds with my pulse. I feel it more at night when i'm lying still ... Weird

has anyone ever felt this "pulsating" feeling too or am i just a freak? :)

For me it feels like lightning bolts, teeny tiny lightning bolts. Others I've heard say that it feels like butterflies in your uterus. But I imagine that as the bub gets bigger the movements will feel different.

I don't feel my bub's movement everyday, just on occasion. Sometimes I feel like all my organs are squished and kind of cramped. So I know there's growing and bumping around going on in there :)

:smiliedance: How exciting is it that most are feeling movements and most think they are. I'm in the Think I am group. I've felt plenty of weird things and like little pushes and even though its my 2nd I arn't willing yet to write in my calender that its my baby moving. I'm sure it is but every night when I go to bed I lay really still and try to relax and see if I feel anything so hopefully soon something major will happen and I will know it is baby!

Since then I've felt something most days, but still hanging out for some serious "pay attention to me" kind of movements...

Despite some early fluttering feelings I hadnt felt anything for a few weeks and was getting worried because with Jai I felt stronger movements much sooner. Also I still havent even heard bubs heart beat, so on Friday night I was a bit emotional and just before bed had a little cry to DH saying I was worried something might be wrong with the baby. I cant believe it but since first thing Saturday morning I have been feeling regular obvious movements!! I told DH its like the bub heard me and was like "Oh ok mum, I was trying not to bother you but if its worrying you, here you go." So great to finally feel it properly and know my bub is ok. Just looking forward to my scan in a week and a half.

We've been getting lots of bumps and thumps over here... DP felt it for the first time the Sunday before last. I got an explanation yesterday though... at my scan the sonographer tried to convince me I am 2.5 weeks more pregnant than I am

So I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I felt so much so early.

Our little one is moving all the time, I am hoping it will tire itself out and have big long sleeps for Mummy when it arrives. My spasms started at 18 weeks and now they are everyday. One night last week I was lying in the bath and bubs was dancing to the radio and I could actually see my tum moving, it was feaky but I loved it.

I'm sure everything's fine Paula. Have you had any scans to check where the placenta is? Mine's at the front, so 'muffles' the movement feelings. I'd give it a bit longer before you worry.

I'm almost 22 weeks and I still can't feel anything :(

I THINK that at my 19week scan the sonographer said my placenta is at the top back, so that doesn't explain it, but I will check what the report says when I see my doctor next. Have to wait another 2 weeks for that appoinment though!

The sonographer also said he was a very active bub, wriggling around non stop during the scan.

I often get a very bubbly tummy, so maybe I'm mixing up the baby movements with bubbles?
