View Full Version : Refusal of Solids and Bottle

Hi,

I have a six month old healthy boy (he is 9.3kg) who for the past two months has been refusing both food and either breast milk or formula from a bottle (I am trying to wean him as I have to go back to work).

I would love for him to take his solids but no matter what I try (be that making sure he is hungry or different foods) what ever I put in seems to come back out. He even makes him self sick.

He is still breast feed every 3 - 4 hours; I have even tried not giving him a feed to get him to eat. I know I have not got too much to worry about as he is a healthy weight but I need for him to start a feeding routine so I can happily go back to work.

The bottle refusal is a different matter, he has his father and I wrapped around his little finger as he takes the bottle from my mother (wjo has the patients of a saint). I am hopping persistence pays off, but there is only so much crying and screaming and vomiting one can take.

I am hoping that someone anyone out there has been through a similar situation and can let me know what they did.

Help please.

Hi Mum2Oscar,

I wish I could help but not sure about this one.

Someone will be along shortly to handle your question though, I'm sure.

I really just wanted to say welcome to Bub Hub and I hope you get the info you need her.

A very helpful bunch :)
