I need some advice/guidance with prams!! I am due to have #2 when ds will be about 20 months old. I have a feeling that he will still be to little fro a skateboard or toddler seat (interms of being able to fall asleep or be comfy if we are out for along time). In addition neither of these can be attached to my pram anyway(don't know what I was thinking!) We are planning on having at least one more bubba, probably with a similar age gap:eek: . What I have in mind is a double side by side 3 wheeler with one of those bassinettes for newborn. Am I crazy?? I'm just wondering, oh wise mothers who have gone before me, what do you recommend?????

Please, any advice, suggestions are welcome - I have no clue what to do!!!

OK, now I'm thinking what if I want to go somewhere with just one child?? maybe a toddler seat is better??? Or do I just hold onto my old ($600 glad we didn't pay for that!!) pram and not sell it?? One more thing.... what age do kids stop going in the pram????

my (other kids, now teenagers) stopped being in a pram around 3,and thats when i will probably stop with Emmy also! Some of my friends stop using prams when the kids can walk properly but if its a far distance use the pram,:o

I know this may sound silly, but does the basket on your pram have a metal rim?

Bella used to stand on it and pop up between the canopy and the pram handle. If she got tired, she used to just curl up in the basket (got some pretty funny looks!) and go to sleep!

The age gap between my two is 22 months and I didn't need a double pram. Mind you, Bella is a very happy walker and will walk for ages without getting tired. I just spent heaps of time walking with her without a pram before Daniel came along.

I just got myself a Graco Stadium duo

(see my ebay purchase link to check it out...)

Anyway DS#1 is 23 months and DS#2 is 11 weeks now and this pram has been AWESOME
so easy to push around, both boys can sleep in it and it fits down normal sized isles.

I highly recommend it :D

I have two who are 20 months apart and I bought a Phil and Ted's E3 pram (www.philandteds.com.au). There are some features that I don't like about it when compared to the mountain buggy I originally owned, but for a set up for two I cannot fault it.

The baby gets to lie down flat, the toddler sits where they would normally sit - so they have shade and can fall asleep in the pram if they need to. It is the size of a single pram so doesn't take up more room and is easy to manouvre, and if only have one with you then the pram adapts very easily to being a single pram.

Once baby is old enough to sit up then the toddler seat goes underneath and you still have a pram the size of a single. My DD1 is 3 and very tall, and she still rides happily in either the front or back seat. The back seat slips off very easily if only one is to go in the pram.

The main things I don't like about it are the harness set up and the soft fabric over the front wheel (a cranky toddler jamming their feet down acts like a brake on the wheel).

My two are 15mths apart and I have used the McClaren (side by side) stroller since DS2 was newborn (the seats recline fully).

It is lightweight, easy to put up and down, easy to manouvre and has plenty of storage underneath.

I can highly recommend it, I bought it 2nd hand from a friend for $180, so it has definately been worth it.

When will you need a pram by? I may be able to sell you mine if you are interested...........

what about one of those prams mage by "love n care" where they have the basket underneath where they can sit? Im pretty sure that is a 3 wheeler also! Just a thought... They look pretty cool and still quite compact!

I bought a Mountain buggy side by side when bub number 3 came along, Bub 2 was 20 mths. Although it is expensive $1200 you can get good second hand ones from around $600. The reason I love mine is that even though it is large it is so light it's made from aluminium. It is one so the few that fit through a normal door way. When I go for long walk my little girls (4) sometimes gets a ride on the foot bar at the front, you can get another seat but I didn't bother. I can't recommend it enough.
