Hi everyone! Well I am 11w5d pregnant with #2 and been battling morning sickness with this one since 5 weeks. It has been torture, it was worse in terms of :barf: with DS#1 but I have had constant, 24/7 neausea for almost 7 weeks now. I have tried it all.. seabands (help I think), ginger everyday, eating before getting up. But.. the other day I tried a remedy I read about a little while ago.

I tried a 1/4 teaspoon of bicarb soda with a 1/4 cup of tap water. It worked a treat!! The first time I took it I woke up after a sleep with absolutely no nausea for a few hours! I thought MS was over, I got so excited, but it came back about 6 hours later so I thought it was a fluke and went back to be nauseous all the time.

But, this morning I woke up with my normal MS and decided to try it again. I took it after breakfast before going to work and my nausea stopped on the way to work. Still early morning, but even to have releif for a littlw hile is such a blessing! I was forgetting what feeling 'good' felt like..

Could this be a wonder remedy?? Does it work for anyone else? Do you know if taking bicarb soda in that way is safe??

Hopeful.

I can't see how bicarb would hurt you when pg. My DH always talks about taking bicarb and water when he has run out of gaviscon (he has severe reflux issues), so it must work in the same way. I found when I was pg that when I had gaviscon was about the only time I didn't feel nausea! Bicarb is way cheaper! If it works, I say, go for it!

Yep as others have said cant see how it would hurt, if it helps you thats great maybe its the fizz factor that settles things for you :)

Nice to hear some positive thoughts! Anyone else tried it in the throwes of MS?

Well I am 12 weeks tomorrow and I think my MS (knock wood!) is calming down significantly.

If only I discovered this earlier on! Let's hope it helps some other people..
