Hi!

We are heading off to VIC (we are in QLD) at the end of next week... we are flying and this will be the first time we have been on a plane with DD.

Can someone give me some tips on what to take with us... obviously, as she is 1, she wont be sleeping on the flight...

What will I need? Food... toys...? What if she poops? :hair: LOL

Gosh, this shall be interesting!

Can't imagine the flight is terribly long. We have just returned from Singapore, 5 1/2 hours with our 2 terrors.

Recommendations -
Check in early and ask for bulkhead seating, more leg room and near toilets.
Take fav drink cup, toy, book on to plane.
Take a lolly or bottle or BF for the way up and down to help with ears equalising.
Designated toilets on the plane have change tables, they are cramped but work OK. I managed to change DS with #2 both on the way to Sing and on the way back, my luck, lol.
Let the airline know well in advance that you are carrying an infant and ask for a meal to be provided, kids meal unless she will eat jars of baby food.

That's all i can think of for now.

Only 4 days ago I flew with DS who is 22 months - I took books, snacks and little toy cars. He was really good - we had 2 legs from Albury to Melbourne, then Melb to Burnie/Devonport.

I'm sure your DD will be fine

When you check in, ask to be seated next to a spare seat (Qantas and Virgin are both happy to do this), it will give you more room/space to spread out and occupy Elsha. Take some "new" toys (or ones she hasn't seen for a while and I also recommend feeding while you take off and land, it will help with her ears
 Have fun :)
