Yep - DS was 750gms heavier than DD...he was bigger all over!

His head was 4cms bigger, and he was nearly 5cms longer too!

so while yes my second was bigger and longer the length made it not so scary as she was quite petite.

Elora was 9lb13 and Natalia was 9lb2. So my second was smaller. They were both exaclty the same lenght and head circ but Natalia'a labour was only 1h 44min compared to Eloras which was 12 hours. Elora was soooo fat and swollen which is why she was heavier i guess.

I think I'd probably say mine were the same.

There was about 1/2 pound difference in their weights at birth, but the heavier one cooked for two weeks longer. He also had a bigger head but again, probably because I was pregnant longer with him.

My DS's head was 35cm......cant get much bigger than that (I hope, although mine when born was 35.5 but I know I have a big head lol)....definately a deterant for me, including the fact that most 2nd bubs are bigger....thanks for starting this thread..lol...

Yes, Skye WAS bigger than Hayley.

Hayley weighed 6lb 5 oz at birth and Skye was 7lb 15 oz at birth, she also looks bigger too and is more heavier and more chubbier than what Hayley was at her age.

Boof was basically 10lb with 38cm H/C.

My 'birth babies' have gotten smaller. DD was 4.72kg, DS 4.37kg, DD 3.79kg. Maybe next time bubba will be small enough for a natural birth as the others all got 'stuck'.

My first was 8lb 4 and I got a horrible third degree tear my second bub was 9lb 5 and had a bigger head and I didn't tear at all so bigger doesn't mean worse damage at all!

DS2 was 4305 grams (9lb 8ozs), 52 cms long and HC of 36 cms.

DD2 was born weighing 9lb 8oz at 39 weeks, so we managed to keep her weight down. Unfortunately, she was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and passed away after 9 days and 4 open heart surgeries. She will have been three this coming January ...

I'm hearing you! My ds1 was 8pound 6. Big for a person my size. I had a long tedious 33hr labour, failed suction and finally a forcep delivery after a second attempt and had an episotomy. So when I was pregnant with ds2 I was worried about a repeat and Dr monitored bubs growth and i was induced 2 weeks early. Bub would have been at least as big, if not bigger than the first had I gone fullterm. Ds2 was out with 2 pushes and a short easy 6hr labour. :D

Ive heard this too. Do they know why the second is generally bigger??? Now I'm nervous coz dd was 9p. Ouch for the next one!! Eeeek

Nope. DD1 born at 40+1 8lb10oz induced.
DD2 born at 36+6 6lb9oz spontaneous.

My Ds was 8 pound 8 and my Dd was 6 pound 10.

ds1 was 3.7kg (3 days overdue) and ds2 was 4.2kg (9 days overdue) so true for me :)

i think it all depends on the person and baby. dd1 38wks 7lb11oz 47cm, dd2 39wks 10lb9oz 52.5cm, dd3 37.5wks 7lb7oz 47cm. baby #4 due in 3 weeks and after scans 2 weeks ago, we think about 8lb. no reasons for dd2 to be so big, i suspect gestational diabetes as i failed first test, but passed seccond, but other than that, she was just a big girl.

DD was 8.3 lbs DS was 9.5lbs. His head was 4cm bigger and he was 6cm longer.And the labour was so much worse! I am dreading this birth!

By 2080 grams DD2 was heavier.

DD2- 38 w 6 d and was 7lb 9oz so my second was almost a pound smaller.

No. The first was 4,6 kgs; second was 3,5 kgs.

DS 40+2 8p 4oz, DD 37+1 5p 5oz due to IUGR so no 2nd bub was smaller way smaller then 1st

My second was way bigger than my first. My dd was 7lbs 5oz and my ds was 10lbs 9oz. My ds was 10 days overdue if that helps. My dd was born on one of her many due dates lol.
