Here's my first attempt :D (don't look too closely at the dodgey stitching :o , sewing on the FOE was tedious! Also I had no pins at all so...... :( )

Check it out -

Front (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o128/nats_017/ArmyNappy.jpg)

Inner (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o128/nats_017/ArmyNappyInner.jpg)

I made it with polar fleece and I had to use cotton fleece on the inside as I couldn't get any micro suede/fleece. I stuffed about too much indecicively and missed the boat with the co-op Zada organised :banghead: so as a result I've got a nappy and nothing to stuff it with ....

Anyhoo, can't wait to make another one!

QUESTION - If I make a nappy with the elastic encased do I have to use FOE? Has anyone used fitted sheet elastic?

That looks great!

You could get some microfibre cleaning cloths to stuff it with... added with some cotton material would work.

Yes I got some!

Shame I don't have any bamboo or hemp :(

I need to have a look around the net I guess they don't sell it in regular shops.

Well done! When you encase the elastic you don't put FOE, kinda a bit of overkill. :D I do a casing on my nappy legs and the back pocket part. Tack elastic on, fold fabric over elastic so its in a sort of pocket, sew carefully so your elastic can move freely in the casing. Viola! Just like a honeyboy!
Just remember that microfibre has to have something between it and bubs skin as it dries bubs skin out too.

(Your bub is ADORABLE!)

That looks awesome! I love the army print:thumbsup:

Little_toad has a thread that is a sticky on how to make pocket nappies with the elastic in a casing if you want to check it out. It's got pics step by step on how to do it.

Thats really cool, looks great!

The elastic you want is braided swimwear elastic, you can get it in packets from craft stores. 6 mm or bigger is best :)
