Does anyone based in seQld have suggestions as to a nice Catholic church to have my daughter baptised at? We currently live in Melb but all grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents etc are in Qld, so we'll have the ceremony up there. But first we need to find a church ... and my inlaws, who live in Brisbane, are not Catholic. I'd love somewhere a bit rural and picturesque, so maybe we can have the party afterwards in a park/gardens/beach or similar, ideally in western Brisbane/Ipswich way, or Sunshine Coast. Also, I am baptised Catholic but my husband not, and we weren't married in the church - would anyone expect this to cause problems?

Hi Jaq,

My husband is Catholic although I am not. We were married on a beach. My son was baptised at a gorgeous Catholic church in Brisbane - they had no problems with this at all - they never even asked.

I'd recommend the church but it's right in the middle of Brissy so not in your chosen area.

Have a lovely day !:D
