Obstetrician - Mercy Hospital

Hi, I had my 1st baby at Mercy Hospital - Mt Lawley and couldn't rave enough about the place. The midwifes are wonderful and so helpful. I'm now 5 weeks preg again (wonderful news) :yelclap: and need help in finding a good obstetrician. I had complications last time with my delivery :shame:. Friends of mine have seen Dr Bruce Thyer but really not 100% sure. I have also been told about Dr Adam Gubbay and Dr Glenn Lewis, has anyone since these Dr's? Would love to hear from you - Thanks

I posted about Adam Gubbay in the other thread you asked about him. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I had Dr Glenn Lewis deliver my first ds and he will deliver my second child in about 11 weeks at Mercy and I can't say enough good things about him ! he is proactive when needs to be and will listen to any issue you may have and try to help you in any way possible I would suggest him to anyone.

My sister is also pg and delivering at Mercy she has used Dr Donald Clark in the past and is using him again for this child and she loves him as well so maybe that is something to think about as well.

however I would be calling them up asap as I have already had one friend dissapointed by not being able to get into any of the OB's at Mercy as they were already all booked up and that was everyone who delivers there.

I'm currently seeing Dr Michael Gannon, who delivers out of both SJOG Subi and Mercy in Mt Lawley. He is fantastic! I feel absolutely comfortable with him, and never feel silly or stupid about asking any question that I may have. And his midwife and receptionist are both lovely ladies.

And yes, I agree about making a decision quite quickly. When I was looking for an obs I was about 4 and a half weeks pregnant and found it soooooooooo hard to get an obs! So the sooner you call and book the better!

Glenn Lewis was my OB with DD....he was away when she was born though, so Adam Gubbay delivered - they were both lovely. I'm seeing Dr Lewis again this time around.

I delivered DD with Dr Thyer at Mercy - he was wonderful:thumbsup: as were the staff and facilities at Mercy:thumbsup:

I am seeing Dr Adam Gubbay (he works out of SJOG in Subi) but also delivers at Mercy. He is quite young compared to some OB's, early 40's and is very pro patient, DH and I are fans :)

Ooops just read your other post and thought I should mention that Dr Gubbay isnt supportive of VBAC in case that is the road you would like to take.
