Hi everyone!

Eli's going through a trying little stage!

Every time I try to feed him meals that he once loved he lets rip with these hoprrible blood-curdling screams every time he takes a mouthful. His whole little face scrunches up and it seems like he is in terrible pain. He keeps taking mouthfuls but not without huge amounts of trauma. Sometimes he just dissolves into distressed tears altogether and I have to get him out and calm him down. He's usually such a happy little munchkin!

It's soooo weird and I just don't get it. I have never created an issue over food, just giving him as much as he wants and then stopping, but I don't know what to do here because I can't tell whether he wants it or not?

Has anyone else had this problem? Aghhhhh! Drives me crazy!

Hmmmm...it's always horrible when our little ones scream like there's no tommorow, and we don't know why!

My DD is 6.5 months, so younger than yours...but she's recently been a bit of a cranky-pants at meal times (unless it's something sweet). Not all of the time...just every now and then she'll bawl her eyes out to the point where she hardly makes a sound.

I'm not really sure what the actual cause it, but some of the times she's been tired...so a nap works wonders for me. Maybe your little man is tired? You've probably tried that already...but just in case you haven't...:)

Maybe go see a doctor if it keeps up (or CHN). My partners baby cousin had terrible outbursts whilst eating...they found out later that she had bowel damage which was causing her pain...which was instensified after eating (she must have figured out that food = pain...???).

It might just be something like being overtired & cranky or teething but yeah if it keeps up id take bubs to the doctor just to have it checked in case.
Oh another thing is it could be silent reflux as i found sometimes bub would get it bad at mealtimes & would whinge about eating.
I hope its just a phase from teething or the likes.
Good luck.
