Hi

My 3 1/2 month bub had just settled into a great routine of 7pmish bedtime, 10.30pm dreamfeed and waking up at 6.30-7am. But for the last 4 nights or so she has been waking up about 4am. When I go in she's full of smiles and giggles and just wants to play. She's not interested in food until her normal 6-7 feed. I've tried re settling but she just cries till I come back and play!

Is this just a phase???? I've been thinking of dropping her dreamfeed and letting her wake up hungry at 3 or whenever, feeding her and hoping she'll go straight back to sleep till a decent hour! Or should I ride it through and see if she'll slip back into her old routine? Has this happened to anyone else?

my son had a phase of that when he started sleeping though around 6-9 mths- would wake at 3am and be up, going down again around 7am! My hubbie used to get up with him and watch Today USA...it went for about a month or two before he hit a new cycle and started sleeping through longer. He still wakes up between 5-6am- some of us are early risers and others (like me) late- we never found we could do a lot to influence his wake up time...just had to be patient and wait for it to stop. Sounds like yours is the same if she's happy and has no complaints! Good luck....

Andrew went through a stage like this at the same age. I just got used to the 4am starts! It did eventually stop and for quite a while now, he has been rising at anywhere between 5.30 and 6.30 (and EXTREMELY rare cases of after 7)

The best advice I can give is just grin and bear it - it will pass!
