I dont see the purpose of having a section for polls, when it makes more sense to have the polls in their specific subject area... :detective:

Maybe a mod could shed some light for us - cause it kind of seems pointless to me... :o

This is what Hilary posted in the other thread in response to a question about whether this would be the section for polls.

Not especially - polls can still go in the section to which they are relevant - I was just setting this up for some general polls in a prominent position on the site that most viewers would see and we could get really good feedback on.

Sorry Im just a little confused. If people can still post subject specific polls in the other sections, then what kind of polls will this new section be used for?

Is it polls about the hub in general and not so much about ttc, pregnancy, parenting etc?

Meh... I don't totally see the necessity, but then again we shouldn't take it all too seriously... it's just another section to share views and have fun, so it's all fine with me :D

I just set up the section so that I could post some polls that would be of site-wide interest - we get asked for polls on specific subjects by journalists, for example.

I wasn't intending it for viewers to post ALL their polls in here - polls on specific subjects can stay in their specific category sections.

I guess that I'd really just intended this section for me to post polls in and I hadn't really anticipated that everybody would start polls about a whole manner of subjects and put them in here!

I've changed the settings for this section so that from now on, this section is going to be used for site-wide polls set-up on behalf of journalists or on important topics that we have been asked to research.

Please continue to use the rest of the site for any polls that you wish to conduct yourselves.

I think it's a great idea!
And people should feel compelled to come here and vote freely in those polls, in their spare time, before say making a new thread in General Chat along the lines of "Is anyone else bored" :rolleyes: :laughing:
