Today I woke up & my mothers respite worker was over she told me she was folding the washing & found what she though was a pilcher or something for a nappy (it was a cloth pad) ...My DP told her it was a cloth PAD & they had an in depth conversation about them!!! (my DP must have heard me talking about them with my mum) She laughed about thinking it was for a nappy then told me how cool it was, I had no idea what to say, I was embarrassed :o.I wasnt sure if she was for real or not but my DP just told me she wants to buy some.

You should be proud of your DP!!! Probably one of the first blokes to ever sell the concept of cloth pads to a woman!! :D

At least she wasn't small minded and/or squeamish! That could have been embarrassing :D

I know what you mean thuogh - I wouldn't be too happy if Stu started talking about it to strangers

My BIL hand washes his partner's pads!! I asked him about cloth pads (guessing that his partner used them) over dinner out one evening and he was quite happy to yak on about it at great length. I've since bought a cup and am very happy with it. I've told everyone who will listen to me about it. I'm sure DH would have no problem mentioning it to someone else if they brought it up, but I don't think he'd be out advertising it...

DF hates the idea of my pads and cup!
he wont even listen to me talk about them,
or even touch them

Really? How bizarre! Do you use MCN and how does he feel about that? DH is pleased I'm doing my bit for the environment, but is probably more happy that I'm happier and that I sleep better overnight with the cup - much better than with pads. He never had a problem with me using disposables, but in his very quiet kind of way, I think he's proud of me doing my bit and keeping myself free of nasty toxins. He doesn't even complain when I empty and don't flush late at night.

neo - so cool, i can see the embarrising part of it, but thankfully she was all for them!!

we are in the process of converting to cloth nappies!! got 15 in use between 2 boys atm so..... occassionally they will have a disposable on when i run out and forget about washing! lol, but i have another 15 on the production line so sooon, i will have no disposable nappies!! yay!!!:smiliedance: so looking forward to that day!

and i came across these cloth pads one day, and thought to my self, how cool! started telling dh about them and he was like ewwwww, (now i have only now - we have been palyingwith the cloth nappy idea - have a few trial nappies - for a while now,and he is finally with me whole heartedly o n the cloth nappy side of things (oh the little squirt is a gem - he loves it!) ) and i think hes now at the stage where hes like what ever babe, you make what you want, your the one wearing them! - i think hes figured out he has no say in the matter anyway! lol - now i just need to have a period!! lol - had a merina (sp) iud put in 12 weeks after ds2 was born, and am still wating for my first period! - im not in any way complaining though!!! lol
