Does anyone know of any night nappies that aren't too bulky but also very absorbent??

So far I have been using BBB's for DD, but have had to add a few extra layers, or else it leaks. The only problem is, it ends up so bulky that when she is walking around before bed she keeps falling over, and also seems to have more difficulty getting comfortable in bed, as her bottom is raised so much!

I was thinking of maybe getting a proper night nappy, like a GNST or something else? Has anyone tried them and how bulky are they? Would you recommend them?

Thanks:)

I would absolutely recommend a GNST- I have the bamboo ones and apparently they are less bulky then the hemp version (bamboo is more absorbent so less is needed) HOWEVER they are still a bulky nappy. I don't see how a really absorbent nappy can be trim though.. my kids are heavy-wetting tummy-sleepers and I got the GNST because of the huge amount of bamboo in one nappy- all where it's needed too. It's the only nappy that works for us overnight- but yes, bulky.

If I had some money to spend on MCNs right now, I'd go and buy another 2 without a second thought :D

Thanks for that! I wasn't really expecting to find a "trim" night nappy. Maybe just one of the "trimmer" ones:D

Might have to try one of them! Just wanted to see what others thought of them before paying so much  DH will not be happy!

I don't think you will ever find a trim night nappy....

SOme are trimmer than others tho.

I just got a wild child dreamytime and its pretty good. Its a fitted but its fully lined so bubs doesnt get wet at all (LOVE THAT). you still need a cover tho. Its pretty too!!! Nice tie dye.

Pookiesossige, are the GNST nappies fully lined as well, like the wild child ones?

Yep
Fleece inner. I have a fuchia one and a monkey one :D I have a Little Squirt but it's still handy for those poos they can do 'on waking' :o It's easier to clean off the fleece and skin stays drier overnight.

They are a great nappy but pretty bulky, don't get one thinking it will be trim! They are great for us because nothing else seems to work. I have the heavy wetter versions which are 18 layers of bamboo and were so worth getting. Especially since when I can't use them (still drying, for example) I have to change both kids at around midnight to prevent leaks

They are too huge for most pul covers- but the M/L Motherease Airflow is good with Ariene's medium GNST. Just. Ariene is 10 kilos. The best covers are nice stretchy, soft wool soakers and funky longies for cold nights. They cover everything and act as both pjs and nappy cover, and absorb anything that would otherwise leak yet stay dry on the outside.

I have used VBSN and just got a BNST bamboo. It is trimmer yet very absorbent as the boosting is on the outside. Av is skinny and can still walk okay in it.
I would like to buy a couple more.

I quite like the cute tooshies bamboo delights for overnight. They last both my toddler and newborn juuuuust when unboosted.

I adore my GNST Bamboo. Like Em, I'd buy two more if I had to $$. They are a lot less bulky then pocket night nappies like GK dreamytimes. They're the only NN that go the distance for my DD.

I have a Wild Child nappy. I love it so much! But it just doesn't work for us :( We've only used it three time, didn't work at all. Just not enough layers for us.

Oh that's disappointing Alicia, I was thinking of trying to score a Wild Child night nappy- but if my GNST's (heavy wetter version) are full in the morning, then I should just stick with what works- and for us, like with you, it's only the GNST's that last the distance with my kids.

Doesn't matter because they're such a great nappy! And while I only have two (one for each kid) FINALLY the weather is warming up enough for them to dry on the line if I hang them out first thing and bring them in before the sun goes  Although Ronan's one tonight was a tad damp on the outside... meh! No biggie :D
