What is your favourite thing about the Illawarra??

Just curious as to what everyones favourite things about living in the Illawarra is (seems Im a little homesick :rolleyes: )

I love nothing better then driving across Windang Bridge on a sunny day. I also like that I can have a life that involves easily going to Sydney without having to live there. Finally (and this might seem funny) I miss seeing all the lights and flames of the Steelworks at night... its just all twinkly starry looking lol

My fave thing is it's proximity to everything you need. And the good shopping, and coffee places, lots of great places to catch up with friends.
I hate Windang bridge cause pelicans freak me out, actually birds in general freak me out. :laughing:

i too love windang bridge. once i get here i feel really relaxed and can't explain why.

when we chose to move here from sydney i said to my hubby we need to live near this bridge. and now we do.

i love the shopping and the ease of driving around. i also love all the various beaches we have to choose from too.

the only thing i miss sometimes are my old school friends. my lack of knowledge for the area makes it hard for me too. i get lost every time i go to wollongong but guess it all takes time.

i wouldn't move back to sydney for anything. just wish i had a few more really close friends here though too.:)

yeah i agree with you illawarra mum i just like the fact that it is just so differnt from sydney
so much quieter and i think the people are nicer here aswell

and the beaches are really close not like sydney u have to drive forever to get to a beach
its hard to explain i just like it its just so differnt to sydney

iam orginally form sydney also illawarra mum and thats the one thing i miss is my family and friends are all up to sydey and i have either lost contact or dont see much of each other
and lack of knowledge man i have no idea lol when someone tries to explain where something is i have no idea and jsut agree with them and pretend i know lol

but it will come eventually
and i wish to make more friends down here aswell to complete living down here i think
u need close friends aswell close by.
