Is there anyone I can call at night?

Hi

I've just bathed my DD and noticed there is a small red lump on the back of her head roughly in the area where her bald patch used to be (the hair is starting to grow back now). If you run your finger over it, it feels like there is a tiny little pea like thing under the surface. It obviously doesn't hurt as she didn't care that I was rubbing and touching it. It doesn't have a head on it, just a small red lump.

I know this is a long shot but has anyone else ever come across something like this? I have a feeling it might be some kind of ingrown hair of infected hair folicle or something.

I'm just worried as we leave for Fiji on Saturday for the 'honeymoon we never had' and I'm worried it might be something sinister. We're so busy tomorrow getting all the last minute stuff done, but I'm going to try to get a Drs appt and for sure it'll be booked out as per usual.

Does anyone know of any phone numbers you can call after hours to ask about these kinds of things?

In QLD we can call 13 HEALTH for any medical related questions. Maybe NSW has something similar? Otherwise, try asking at your local hospital? Emergency reception should be able to refer to an after hours doctor :) Hope everything's ok with your DD.
