Hi all,

I'm very new to the forum, but have been reading quite a few comments from others over the past couple of days relating to choices ob o.b's and private hospitals in Brisbane.

I can't believe how confusing and somewhat daunting it all is. I had my first 11 years ago on the G.C - totally different to Bris. I've made an appointment with Jo Cheung & am having the baby at MMPH. I would love to hear from anyone else that has/is seeing Dr Cheung with some views on her style of care etc.. I'm not one of those warm & fuzzy mum's I must say & so am looking for someone pretty laid back, but open to my ideas on how I'd like to have baby # 2...?

Sorry, had my first and will have my second at the Wesley (pregnant now). My ob is Ross Turner. Laid back but does step in when needed.

I've got friends who have had their bubs a MMPH and have heard good reports. Don't know anything about Dr Cheung though... sorry!

Thanks girls,

I'm sure it will be fine.... Certainly many good things reported - so that's all I can ask for...

I am having no 3 At MMPH & was very happy with the nurses and facilities(appart from the dodgy wing with comunal toilets they have to open at busy times) I am Seeing Dr S Higgins. He consults at Wickham Terrace and Annerly. Very happy with him. Good Luck.

Hi,
I have had 2 friends go to Dr Cheung and all positive:yelclap: :yelclap: . she also works with 3 other female obs on call, who are all excellent.I went with one of these and she was excellent also. Will be going back for number 2.

I gave birth at the mater privateand have no complaints, excellent service and great rooms.

Good luck.

I have a friend who is using her and is due any day now. I think she is quite happy so far. I used Dr Gino Pecoraro at MMPH. At times i was disappointed with the hospital but overall it was fine and i can't rave enough about my OB. He was fantastic!

Hi there

Jo delivered both of my sons by ceasarian (pelvis too small, did not engage) and did a BRILLIANT job, :) cannot fault her. She is always really professional, positive, happy and easy to talk to. Gives you all the info and options and is very approachable. Cannot recommend her highly enough. She will be my gyno on an ongoing basis.

Good luck!

I'm due with my first in 3 weeks and have had Dr Cheung as my OB. I've total confidence in her and have found her a pleasure to visit!!

Something else that I forgot to mention is that she's a no-gap specialist which makes it even better hip-pocket wise!!

does that mean you get 100% back from medicare? What about the extra big fee (can't remember what it's called) that comes about half way through?
