Hi

As your bubba is only 6 weeks old i'd say its totally normal for him to be wanting a feed every 3 hrs:) ...all my dd's (though they were bf) were wantibg a feed every 3 hrs, they are growing so much they need all that milk:)

My DS who's now just about 5 mths was waking up every 2-3 hours until 11 weeks old when he started sleeping through. On average now he sleeps 10-12 hours at night. So there's light at the end of the tunnel. My DD was only 2 weeks old when she started sleeping through the night. Just like their Mother, they love their sleep.

My 5 week old dd is also still waking 2-3 hourly for bf. Each feed often takes about 1 hour and then only getting just over a hour sleep between - I know exactly how you are feeling. My 2 year old DS only woke once from 1 week on (realise now how lucky I was with him). Luckily he is still a good sleeper so have only had to go to him once or twice this week because he is teething. I am drained to get up in the morning and feel like I can't take much more so very hopeful she starts to sleep longer very soon. Everyday dd also wakes when ds has his lunch time sleep. my mum has taken ds for the day so I should probably go and get some sleep rather than been on the www!!

Thats VERY normal for a baby that age.

My son started moving to a 3 1/2 hr routine at about 4 months...and he's just started moving to a 4 hour routine at 5 months.

You're doing a great job! It does feel like all you ever do is feed....but it does stretch over time.

Yeah, the milkshake shop is open 24 hrs a day at this age with a very demanding customer. I felt for months with both mine that it would never end. I know its hard to sit back and enjoy it when your sleep deprived and your time is being demanded but when they stop feeding you miss it. That special time that is yours and theirs. Blink and they are nearly 1 like mine

Howdy!
My little one is 8 weeks and is a regular 3 hourly feeder! He did have a sleep through the other night, obviously a once off because it hasn't happened since! Lol! But yeh 3 hours is about right...sucks when you are trying to get some sleep! (YAWN!) :p

DS is 5.5 months old and has 3 solid feeds a day on top of 200ml's of formula every 4 hours. at 6 weeks he was every 3 hours still. very normal for a baby.
