View Full Version : Britney Spears drives with infant son in lap
http://www.hollywoodrag.com/index.php?/celebrity2/category/C180/
Britney Spears has been photographed by paparazzi driving while holding her infant son, while her bodyguard sat in the passengers seat. This is what police call the "baby crusher" position, if there is even a minor accident, the airbag would deploy and the baby would be killed instantly.
Is it just me, or does this kind of idiocy ABSOLUTELY INFURIATE YOU?:mad:
I always knew she was a white trash idiot, but this takes the cake. That poor baby, it might have money when it grows up (if he survives parenting by Spears and his drop-kick daddy!) but what kind of life is that?
/rant over
OMG that i horrible how stupid can you been doing something like that.
 Unbelievable, yet typical of the sort of crap we keep seeing in this crazy world.:(
Grrrrrrrr.........
This is being compared to Michael Jackson dangling his baby over the balcony.
What do these people think?
Let's hope something is done about it and it isn't just ignored because she is famous.

Yes i also saw this on sunrise this morning...
Comes back to Commonsense and motherly instinct in which Ms Spears lacks in all areas!
Yep I saw it on channel 7 too
it just doesn't surprise me with her lol
I think it's far far FAR worse than MJ's baby-balcony episode.
 I can't believe what I'm seeing!!
What a stupid, stupid girl!!! What the hell was she thinking??? Obviously she wasn't!
I hope something is done about this too! Poor baby.:(

Well, hopefully she'll never do it again:)
Normal people would be shamed into not doing it again, I honestly think she's too thick to take it in.

Horrible!
Not to mention the fact that she would obviously have paparazzi following her whilst driving, therefore being a dangerous situation even if the baby was in a safety seat let alone on her lap...whilst driving!
Carly - interestingly enough I google-newsed it and saw that she claimed that the pap were 'aggresively chasing her' and she was trying to get her son out of danger.
Not a brain in her head.

OMGoodness, she is driving, that is just insane!
Does she think that just because she is famous/rich that she is invincible! (yep, probably  )
I'd love to hear what her excuse is

I just read that too! The baby was apparently strapped into his baby seat but when paparazzi started 'swarming' her vehicle whilst she was waiting for her bodyguard (who was getting coffee), she decided that the baby would be safer sitting on her lap whilst being chased, than in a proper baby seat!!!
That's her defence...

has she heard of locking the doors??? the paparzzi are crazy - but surely they wouldnt smash a window near an infant for a picture... She is just plain dumb its dangerous .. that poor poor child
To be honest - what did we all expect? That she'd miraculously mature overnight just because she had a baby??
Poor little kid - growing up with an idiot for a mother....

Yeah, I suppose its hard to know how it feels to be chasedby the paparazzi:eek:
Well I dunno about you Katie, but I have photographers camped out front of my house all the time...;)
She's a major ditz (Brit, not Katie :)). I feel so sorry for the bub, can only hope that she has employed a decent nanny to take care of him at home, when he's not being taken out as a show-and-tell toy.

Well, yeah but you just get used to them being there dont you??
That american guy on Sunrise...i watch most mornings and still I forget his name :o ...anyway, he said child welfare people will be investigating the matter.
I really hope they do, tho I'm not sure even that would have an impact on her.
I keep hearing all her stupid songs in my head which reflect perfectly what an idiot she is...
"I'm not a girl, not yet a woman"
"Oops, I did it again. I'm not that innocent"
"You're toxic, I'm slipping under"
I could go on!
Stupid stupid!

That is so irresponsable! Does she think she's above the law? What about her poor little baby!
She ought to be ashamed.

I haven't seen it but was it on the streets or up her driveway??? My DH and I often put our DD since she was 9mnths in the front. Every morning when DH goes to work she sits in the front and drives out to edge of driveway and then back in!! We wouldnt outside of the driveway.
I haven't seen it but was it on the streets or up her driveway???
It was apparently on a hugely busy major highway, which is reportedly one of the most dangerous also.....!

We had a car accident when my first DD was 13 days old. I truck ran up the back of out little brand new Carolla when we were stopped at lights. The baby capsule was encased by the indented boot. DD slept through it all and came out of the accident the best of all of us. How anyone could ever be so irresponsible I do not know. There is NO excuse for not restraining a baby or child.
I heard this morning that she will probably cop a fine of about $270 for having a child unrestrained in a vehicle. I think they also said she got/will get a visit from family services.

LOL
They'll have to hide the weed when Family Services pay a visit to them

$270?? To her thats probably less than a haircut.
What a stupid idiot
Other than already being immature, what Britney did is unexcusable, life threatning and just plain stupid. She has given the reason that the paparazzi were getting to close. (Paps have long view lenses they don't need to get too close). She (tho bad judgement) was trying to protect her child. How many of us can say we have been in a situation where have had to protect our child in a way we forget all saftey procautions. I know I have, I was delivering papers pushing my childs stroller when a dog jumped the fence and chased me down the road, I stood between the stroller and the dog (as you do, trying to protect my DS) but that put me in danger, what would have happened to my DS if I got hurt.
We all know that what she did was stupid, but she did what she could to protect her child.
In saying that she should have known betta to take her child out and about if she doesn't want the pap to photograph the baby, she is famous and they will always be following her.
I remember a few years ago Bjork attacking a photograher for taking photos of her child, MJ dangling his over the balcony so people can take a photo, Steve Irwin holding the bub while feeding the croc. All these people have made stupid mistakes towards the safety of their children, but we only know about them because they are famous.
I am noway condoning what Britney did, but in the spir of the moment she lost her good sence of judgement.
We have all judged her without being there or knowing the whole truth

I agree with you Loopi1.
Though Brits obviously did wrong, to pretend that I know what it feels like to be in a situation like hers is crazy. I wouldn't drive with my DD on my lap, but I'm not famous. I don't know what it is to be constantly publically scrutinised ("Sad Brits Weight Gain", "Brits Dumb Hubby Gets Down and Dirty with Paris", "When will Brit get her body back?" etc). I don't know what it's like to be hunted down by strangers with cameras, eager to snap up a potentially embarrassing moment. I don't know what it's like to be in Britney's head.
Sure, we all have been stressed out and tired and whatnot...but I'm sure that when each of us are stressed and tired from our new lives with our bubs, we don't have a drop-kick hubby who the media constantly put-down (even if he does deserve it for being such a ******), we don't have our weight-gain talked about time and time again PUBLICALLY (how horrible would that be? To have everyone expect you to spring back to red-catsuit wearing body-type in a matter of moments?), and we don't know what it's like to be chased. I just think her life would be pretty difficult at the moment.
Still no excuse, I know. But before going "what a bad mother!", perhaps we should think about what she might be going through. Perhaps her mindset is a bit askew at the moment...with everything going on in her life. If I were famous, I imagine I'd be a bit crazy too...there'd be some much to deal with/worry about (like stalkers taking your kids etc) that logic might just become a mere after thought.
Not condoning what Britney did...but I just feel a bit sorry for her.

I just hope that it knocks some sense into people in the general public. I saw a woman driving with her 4yo (not sure of the age) on her lap up our street on Tuesday. Yes it is a quiet street, but still, it's way too dangerous.
