Thankyou to everyone who recently gave suggestions for a classy and elegant but different wedding song.
After scouring through my entire cd collection I have finally come up with one which I think really suits the Processional (for me). It's on my "New Standards" cd (contemporary artists performing timeless songs) and it is Elvis Costello and the London Symphony Orchestra singing the classic "She".
I've also found what I think is the perfect bride & groom first dance song. It's a classy, slow song that is sung by one of the most talented vocalists around and I have never heard it played.
It is called "Someone to Believe In" and is on my "The best of Randy Crawford" cd. Luckily I have a copy because you cannot find the lyrics or the music on the net and it seems to be left off the album of the same name now.
If anyone is interested, I have written down (what I believe to be) the lyrics of the song:-
Someone to believe in, is what I'm hoping for
Someone to believe in, who'll be my guiding star
Someone to believe in, who'll be my guiding star
Someone who'll lift? me, to make the sun shine through
Someone who'll believe me, and believe in the things I do
Someone to come home to, after a weary day
Someone who'll understand me, when I'm lost for words to say
And oh such a feeling, just to live, and not pretend
And to know, deep in your heart, you have someone to believe in
And oooh ooh such a feeling, just to live, and not to pretend
And to know deep in your heart, you have someone to believe in
Nb. Just to let everyone know I'm happy for anyone and everyone to use these songs if they want to (not that I would ever know) because they are not MY songs. I believe music is something which should be shared so that more can appreciate it.
