Hi HugsAndKisses,
I am also due in May - 2nd May. I just did a home test and got a :bfp: . I used the due date calculator on here to work out an estimate of when I am due. I will go to the doctors on Saturday to confirm though.
It is so exciting that there is someone else on here due in May 08. I did not think there would be anyone else yet. It will be great to compare our pregnancies.
I thought of some questions and provided my answers. People who are joining can answer them as well!
Will this be your first child, or how many childen do you have, boys or girls and ages?
This will be my first
Are you hoping for a boy or girl, and are you going to find out before the birth?
Either. My husband is hoping for a boy. We are going to find out the sex, but not tell anyone else until the baby is born.
Guess if you are having a boy or girl:
Boy
Are you experience morning sickness/nausia?
Yes. Only a slight uneasy feeling in my stomach at this stage. Has been like that since Sunday.
Have you told anyone apart from your partner?
I asked the girl in the cafe to make me throthy milk rather than coffee from now on. Apart form that no - a few people know we have been trying.
Look forward to speaking with you soon, and anyone else due in May!

Hi Everyone,
Welcome MelandChris and Top78! Congratulations on the :bfp: .
Today I went to the Dr and got my HCG count. It is 53 which is low, however the doctor said it is probably still ok as it is early, but I am still worried. Have any of you got a HCG yet?
I heard if it doubles/increases it is ok, and I got another test, along with other blood tests today, and am going back to the doctors on Thursday so I will see then I guess.
I also told my mum and she was really excited. I wasn't sure how she would react.
Booked into the obstetrician for 24th Sep.
How are you all going?

Congratulations and welcome to MelandChris, Top78 and mum2peanut!:smiliedance:
Went to the GP today for BT and referral letter for OB - I've booked into the OB on the 10th October for my first visit, and have called the hospital for booking forms to be sent out - the OB recommended I do this ASAP.
Going back to GP for BT results next week. Today he said that the 12week ultrasound to check for Down syndrome was not covered at all by medicare - that if you wanted it done you had to pay for the whole thing, which would be between $200-$300. I guess I'll check this with the OB at my first appointment.
Does everyone else feel as tired as I do - I just had a 2 hour nap on the couch!!! And I'm loving salt and vinegar chips at the moment! But it's so exciting knowing our little bub is growing right now in my tummy. Makes me smile everytime I think about it (which is pretty much constantly!).

28-08-2007, 06:11 PM
Congrats mum2peanut! I too am scared as had a MC last time so we can be scared together.
CindyE: I am booked in to the ob for 24th Sep. The receptionist told me the ultrasound will cost $70 so I would query that.
I have been feeling very tired and have had m/s as well.
My Ob is a male. I wanted a female and made a call to one but the receptionsist did not call back until I had already made a appointment with another one (she could not tell me if the ob was full over the phone). The one I am with is a male but the receptionist was a lot more friendlier. What do you all think?

mirandaj- my OBS with DD was a male and he was fantastic. So I wouldn't worry about that. I've yet to ring my Obs but I figure since it's early May that shouldn't be booked out yet.
cindye- i didn't have to pay that much for my 12 week u/s. Think tho mine was partially covered by health fund. CAn't be sure though. I too am tired. DD hasn't been well today, so I'm feeling it today esp, and back to work tom.
HugsAndKisses- thanks, I think the May Mums is going to be a lovely group to be a part of.

Hi Everyone,
And a big Congrats to all the new BFP's!!
I sympathise with all of you that are tired, I am too and feel a little nausia as well.
Mum2Peanut - How funny, my little one is also Mackenzie and she was sick today as well:(
mum2peanut and mirandaj - I too had two m/c before my first little girl, so here's to positive thinking for all of us - we WILL have May Bubbies, this time Im trying not to stress and run to the tiolet every 5mins to check if Im bleeding:( Come on 12weeks!!
Take care everyone, I have to say Im loving having morning sickness(odd I know) because when I had Mackenzie I had it, but my two m/c I didnt:) So bring it all on:)
Mel
I have my first doc appt tomorrow, I went public last time and didnt have an OB, so if anyone can suggest a good private hospital and OB in the South East Brisbane or Gold Coast, I'd really appreciate it.

mtjt25 yay congratulations:yelclap:
Well i must say im a little confused so far...when i went to the doctor two weeks ago to have my pregnancy confirmed and all that he sent me to have a blood test and told me to come back in four weeks time...i feel like thats a bit long in between visits...maybe he wants to wait to see me till im further along...although to be honest as ive said before im not 100% sure on how many weeks i am...and i told him that so how will he know when to send me for scans??
i feel like i may be around 8 weeks...ive had the M/S for two weeks now and also my (.)(.)'s have been so so sore for ages now and also im starting to feel the very early beginings of a bump...like its just not going down as much after meals anymore
what does everyone think of the hospitals and doctors in brisbane? i had my son in a rural area and to be honest they were fantastic and very attentive:yes:

Hi Girls,
Congrats mtjt25!
HugsandKisses - I had my first appt at docs today, he did NOTHING, no bloods no tests, he is happy that if the home test said I was pregnant than I am, he told me to come back in four weeks too, I think its pretty normal at the beginning to see them once a month. And my doctor said I wont need a scan till 20wks because Im under 35, but Im going to push for a 12wk scan, they are the best ones to see the baby I think.
Mirandaj - I had some cramps, but I dont know whether Im being paranoid or not, and some light brown spotting today:( Nothing like making a girl nervous!
Take care everyone!!
mtjt25
30-08-2007, 10:05 AM
Hugsand kisses - I think that is fairly normal also - If they have taken the blood test then they will just confirm it from there -
Melandchris - yes push for a 12 week scan if you want one - when I booked in yesterday they autonatically told me to call and book in 12 weeks even thoug I am under 35?
Enjoy your day

Mel- I would push for the U/S if it worries you. I actually had a 7wk with Mackenzie, and I'll be requesting the same this time, it just gave me peace of mind last time. My Dr never gives me blood tests either, she say the HPT is enough.

Hi everyone,
I went to my GP yesterday to confirm the pregnancy. See for me it is a bit confussing as i had a m/c and D&C 8 weeks ago but never got a period after that. I did heaps of preg tests that were all neg. then i worked out i ovulated around 13th of aug and got my BFP on the 25th of Aug. Anyway my GP (who i love) said she has had soooooo many false pos from home preg tests lately and so we used the ones she has in the surgery. She said they are a lot more accurate and cost more. So i did a wee then brought the cup back to her and she did the test. Then she said it takes 2 mins....they were the longest two mins of my life. DH, me and GP all staring at the test and every second i said to her 'so what do you think it means now?". But finally my two lines came up, thank god and she has also done bloods that i will ring up after lunch to get the results from. The confusing part is she said we have to date me from the D&C, which would make be 8 weeks instead of 4 weeks 5 days which i am so sure i am. So she said i can have a scan when i think i am 7 weeks to get more of an idea of dates. I hope i am futher along than i thought, but i just dont see how that is possible. I really dont want people to think i am futher along than i am as when i have a scan they will think i might have m/c, when the truth is the baby is still tiny and too early to pick up a heart beat. Anyway i hope that made sense to you all, sorry for:ecomcity: .......gee i need to relax.
Hope you are all well and i will write more personals later.
Cheers,
earlybirdbabies

YAY :bfp: Monday just gone and "apparently" due 4th May 08. Will confirm that though this afternoon, blood results are back! I'm excited but scared! Baby no.5 for us:eek: and I have 4 boys so I'm betting on a BOY!! But I'm quite happy with another boy, how would you feel being the youngest, a girl, with 4 older brothers and an over-protective father!!... Oh well either way I'm fine!!
Good luck to all you fellow may 08'ers and I will be back to chat with you about our pregnancies!! YAY:party:
See you soon.

Thanks ttcin2007. You too... goodluck. I'm excited about the results this afternoon because I may be further along too. I may be approx 3 months instead of 5 weeks. I have had 2 irregular AF in the last 2 months then this month they didn't come at all... Oh by the way, forgot to mention, I was on the pill when I conceived!! GREAT PILL THAT WAS!! but I'm happy about :bfp: would never shy away from a challenge!!:yelclap:

Hi everyone,
Just found out my bloods are only 130.5 so apparently that puts me between 3 and 4 weeks preg, well as long as it is a sticky healthy pregnancy i dont mind. I just really want to give birth to a happy and healthy baby in may 08.
I know TOP78 yours are in the 500's, but does anyone else know theirs yet?
I am having mine repeated in a week and also a scan in a week. I am sure it will be too early but my ob wants it before i see them on the 24th of Sept and i rang the two local hospitals (both 2 hours away) and i can only get in next fri otherwise have to wait till mid oct!!! At least if the scan is inconclusive the bloods will tell us something.

31-08-2007, 06:12 PM
ttcin2007 and TOP78 I got my results today and I was spot on with my dates... I am due 5th may 08!! My levels were 1300 so that puts me at 5 weeks too... YAY!! So excited, wish I was a little further along, just cause 9 months takes soooo long... But hopefully this pregnancy will fly by.
ttcin2007 They can check if your Progesterone levels are high. The range is between 30-160 in 1st Trimester, mine is 76, so the higher it is the less likely it will be you will miscarry!! If that helps??:hugs:

earlybirdbabies/TOP78- congrats and welcome
ttcin2007- don't know my levels sorry, I prob wn't find out either knowing what my is like Dr.
Been so tired the last few days, I work Wed-Fri, so by the end of the day I'm stuffed, and I'm always hungry. I remember being tired with DD cause I always came home and had a siesta. But I didn't have this hunger thing. God at this rate I'll be a whale.
Hope you're all feeling well.

Hi Ladies
Think i will be joining you guys! I got two :bfp: today and am wrapped! Will probably tell the family on Father's day. By my calculations i got my BFP on 13dpo (would this be accurate enough?), which puts my due date as the 10th of May and also 3 weeks and 6 days pregnant.
I am sick as a dog with the flu and also feeling mighty bloated a lot!
Oh, also i think i may be having a girl, will definately find out if we can. I also want to have a homebirth, but not 100% sure yet. :)
Doing another test tomorrow to double check! :) And will see the doc next week. It's still very early days, but i hope this one sticks!
Look forward to getting to know you all.

I still have a funny feeling that I'm pregnant, I did a test on Wednesday and it was:bfn: but that was only 12-13 days after I had O pains. I still haven't had AF back since DS was born, so know idea where I'm at, just a strange feeling. Although scary to have 2 May babies in a row, I'm excited at the prospect. I'm in a good place, happy to be pregnant and happy not to be. I will probably be testing again on Monday when my Ebay tests should arrive:fingerscrossed:

Hey V8, I'm in the same boat as you as I'm in the v v early (too early?) stages.
Hello  & Congratulations  to you all - I am confident we'll all have healthy happy bubs in our arms in May!
Actually, I feel like I'm reading & writing on the May 08 forum very prematurely, but I'm so excited I can't help it. Had :bfp: this morning! Quite faint, but then I didn't read the instructions properly and only dipped the end in for 5 instead of 10 seconds. Nonetheless it was there. If it turns out to be true, then my due date would be 13 May.
Other than tender breasts, no other symptom, but wouldn't really expect it at this early stage. I didn't tell DH, cause I thought I'd add a notation in his father's day card tomorrow. Very difficult to stay quiet!
Big hugs to all.
Cheers,
Sam
me - 32 DH - 37 DD - 2
Hey Sammum and welcome! Congrats, i think it could be right if mine was positive so early. I am 4 weeks today and did another test which was also positive. So i am very confident that it's right now! :D
Borntobemummy - wow if you are that would be amazing to have two bubbies in a year! Can't wait to hear!
I have decided not to tell anyone except my twin sister. She said not to tell anyone yet and she will keep it quiet. DH won't know either cause of his memory problems he won't be able to keep quiet. So at the moment, it's just me and my twin sister that know. I will tell my parents when they get back from overseas and i'll be 10 weeks by then. So least i don't have to see them much between now and then as it's so hard to keep quiet! lol
I also don't think i'll see a doc. I plan on homebirthing and have rang a midwife today and will chat to her in the next week or so to talk about my options. So that's really exciting! :)
Hope everyone else is well, i'm still sick with the flu and so darn tired!

Hi Everyone,
I haven't been on for a few days and all of a sudden there are a few more :bfp: 's. Congratulations and welcome.!
Not much new for me, still waiting eagerly for my OB appointment and the 1st trimester to pass, although I am feeling a lot more confident now I have got past the point I misscarried at last time (5 weeks). I am still concerned about my HCG count, especially after hearing all of yours. Mine was 53 at 4 weeks. Have not had one since. My Dr said that's it for appointments with her unless any concerns and referred by on to the OB.
Today I did maternity ward tours of the two private hospitals near me, it is starting to feel a bit more real that I am having a baby.

I am 4 weeks today and did another test which was also positive. So i am very confident that it's right now! :D
Absolutely agree with you V8  !! I am also totally impressed with your secret keeping abilities! I almost burst having to keep it from DH for one night. Did I read correctly that you are going to announce it to your DH at 10 wks?
Ains - That's the way! There'll be no AF on Tuesday and two bright pink lines on that test Thursday! My fingers are crossed for you!
BTW, when DH found out today (in his father's day card) he was very excited, although did mention that he would miss the regularity of BD, which is likely to reduce. Men!

oh i forgot to say i am having a scan and bloods done this friday. i am sure the scan will be way to early to see anything but ob wanted one for comparrison before my appoint with her sept 24th and this friday was all i could get (problem with living in the middle of nowhere). At least the bloods will tell a story of whats going on.

hi lovely ladies!!
congrats on all the :bfp:!
I will be joining you in here too!! looks like I am due on 5 May 2008, (by my calculations!) I will book in with family birthing centre this week.
V8 - I am interested that you are planning on a home birth, how did you come to this decision? I have also considered this after a horrific hospy time, but I think the cost will be too huge in this case.
with the family birthing centre, you have the same midwives for all your appts and then they are there for the labour and no medical intervention, which is what I want!
I have a darling son born 12/12/06 - nearly 9 months old, I can't believe it. also have a darling step son, 8 years old.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

A Big Congratulation to all those lovely ladies with their recent :bfp: 's!
And Ains - I just KNOW you're going to be here for the long haul in just a few days!!
My best friends just came to visit for a few days, and i told DH before she came that she'd pick up i was UTD, but he didn't believe me. It only took her about an hour an a half!!! But I'm a hopeless liar! Lucky both our families are interstate - it makes it easier to keep it a secret. I'm pretty sure my MIL will be visiting before we make the announcement. I don't know how we'll go then.
Yesterday I got some cute clothes from Pumpkin Patch - a girls, and a boys outfit, and a little rug that matches both outfits. It's soooo cute. I think I'll definitely be finding out the sex, even though DH doesn't want to know - makes shopping so much easier! And I got some beautifully soft wool in mauve and pink so I can get my MIL to knit a little blanket. She'll be so excited when we ask.
Ok, I've got a TMI question... Over the last few days, about once a day I'll wipe after going to the toilet and there'll be a small glob of cloudy CM with a slight pinkish tinge. It kind of looks like hair conditioner. Anyone else getting anything like this? Should I be concerned?
Hi Ladies
Well i'm still miserably ill with the flu, had it for two weeks now so just waiting for that to pass! AF is due to arrive on Tuesday, so i'm pretty confident that she won't be showing up  And yeah i'm going to wait till 10 weeks till i tell DH. My parents are going overseas in 2 weeks for a month, so when they get back i'll tell everyone. See if i tell DH he will tell his family and i don't want them to know right now either. Also as DH has a brain injury his memory is so poor there is not much point telling him now as he'll forget not to tell anyone. And as i said 9 months to him is a lifetime!
Ains - I hope you join us in here luffly, i've been reading your story a few times and you soooo deserve this!!
Miranda - thanks for the welcome, wow seeing OB's and going on hospy tours already wow!
TTCin2007 - goodluck for the bloods and scan, i'm sure it'll be fine.
Sammum - what a great father's day present, but yeah the reduction in BD'ing wouldn't be a favourite! lol
Jecstar - Hey there, homebirth appeals to me because the hospital setting was nothing but stressful i had pretty much every intervention except a c-sec, i was uncomfortable the whole time and just feel really lost and alone. I wanted to have more control over myself and stress less about those around me. I will find out more when i see the midwife but also you can possibly discuss fees and i may only see her at 36weeks and the birth, which would mean it would be cheaper. Otherwise i am still undecided whether i will even have a scan at this stage, i just don't want to see a GP at all. So yeah, i'll see how it all goes.
Cindye - I have had a slight discharge, just clear though similar to 'o' but not pinkish or anything like that. It could just be implantation, i'm not sure. Also how funny your friend just 'knew'. My sis is like that i can't keep anything from her! I am also amazed i kept it from my parents today, it's so hard to keep things from them i tell them everything. But will be excited to see them after their holiday while they are on a high and give them the good news.
Anyways, woah i've written a novel.
Chat soon girls! :)

Hello May Mummies,
Did my 2nd HPT today just to double check, my first one was very faint as i did it the day AF was due, this was was very dark and appeared very quickly.
My sister and BIL also guessed, she was badgering me last night, but I didn't tell them til today, just wanted my 2nd test results. They were very excited. Will tell my mum tomorrow and dad in a few weeks (he's the worst secret keeper- they're seperated)
Cindye- not discharge here atm, but I'm sure it's all normal.
jacstar31- congrats and welcome
Going to book my obs and ultrasound tomorrow.

Hi All other May due daters! Just did a test on Friday and found out I'm going to be a mum for the first time approx on 7th May! Big mix of major excitement and nervous reck at the moment!! 12 weeks is going to talk SO long to come round - how does everyone manage not to let on?? I was at a function last night and was moved to ask my friend if she thought I was an alcoholic as 5 people had asked if I was pregnant just cause I was drinking water!! Really didn't think I drank that much and have been trying to be good while TTC as worried about pickling potential first born!

Welcome to all the new may mums!!!!
Good luck with the scan ttcin2007.
Cindye: I don't want to scare you however when I had a misscarriage last time that's how it started out then I had bleeding the next day. I have heard that some spotting is normal though so hope it is all ok.
Hope your scan goes well and that you get to see your baby ttcin2007. How exciting! I am going to ask my OB for one when I go on the 24th.

congratulations to all the new may mummies:smiliedance: were filling up fast in here hey!
hope you are all well and everyone is having a good pregnancy so far.....
Ive been doing ok...still sick as though...i tried a nausea releif thing but it did nothing....ive been very fortunate though that my mum has been coming over once a week on a monday to clean my house and cook me a few dinners so i can rest more....shes a great mum....im really starting to get annoyed with the not knowing of how far along i am, so im making myself a doc appt for this week and am goin to see if he can give me a more accurate guess hehe:o
my two year old has been so full on lately i think he knows his mummy is a bit less mobile hehe....
oh and a bit of exciting news is i already am getting a little bump...since its my second pregnancy people have said its likely to happen sooner and it is...so yay!
xx
Hey All
Still sick with the flu, aargggh! It's so annoying! Am a bit annoyed my sister told one of her mates, although i haven't even told ANY of my mates! Or my own husband for that matter, so a bit annoyed with her! Although i didn't say anything to her about it! :banghead:
Hugsnkisses hope you find out when you are due and wow cool you got a bump already! I am wondering too being my second if i show much earlier, first pregnancy i didn't really show till 6 months along, although now i am much bigger second time around unfortunately!
Been having cramping pains today in my ovaries, i hope it's nothing, but this flu is really knocked me about, i just want to sleep all day. And i can't take anything for it to go away :(
Anyways, enough whinging from me! lol

Hi Ladies,
Gosh this thread is really really filling up!!
Congratulations to all the new BFP's Yeeeyyy, its all so exciting!
Ive been MIA for a few days because my brother was up, I'm so paranoid I did another test this morning, and the lines were there before I put the cap on the test and bright bright Pink:) Thats No 4 for me hehe
I'm not keeping this one a secret, Im confident that this bub will be a stayer hehe - after being conceived after just one time, its a pushy little bubba:)
Cindye - I would go get checked out if there is a pinkish tone, but this is TMIIYKWIM butttt when Im pregnant, I have quite heavy whitish and clear discharge and its all normal and gets heavier as the pregnancy goes on, so I wouldnt be panicking.
V8 - Same with cramps, I cramp right through the pregnancy, I was put on bedrest for them last time though, but just take it easy, thats what Im doing this time, like you trying to stay away from GPs cause they make me panic, cause they all tell you something different!
We've got bad news though, with the interest rates rising our mortgage has gone up (we have the property rented out in Newcastle) and our rent went up and we might need to go back to Newcastle because its putting a huge strain on our finances arrrggghhh, I may just be being paranoid, but the house is where I miscarried twice, and then we came to QLD and I had a healthy bubby, so I really dont want to go back:( Fingers Crossed our House sells SOON!!!
Ive got to get my little one up and ready for swimming (which makes me incrediably nausious).
Chat soon
Hope Everyone isnt feeling really sick, but on the bright side its Healthy!! yeeyy

Good morning girls!
Well, the CM I had last week hasn't happened again. I think it was only twice, and to be honest, the pinkish tinge was so pale I don't think I would've even noticed it if it had dried on my knickers. It doesn't help to be paranoid and checking the toilet paper every time you wipe!!! So I'm refusing to even think about it anymore!
Anyone else having bad dreams? Last night DH had to wake me up because I was crying hysterically in my sleep - tears and all! I was dreaming I was being attacked by a feral cat - not really nightmare material, but it was very intense. Crazy...
Well I hope everyone has a great day. I'm going to call today to book into some pregnancy pilates classes. I need to do all I can to keep my weight gain at an acceptable level since I'm eating everything in sight!

So we are collecting alot of :bfp: gals in here... May is a popular month!
How is everyone feeling...:barf: ???
I'm actually fine so far (where's the wood) but I'm sure it won't be far away. I'm a little worried about my pregnancy because there is a chance I could have APH this time around as I did with No4. I had placental Abruption from 13 weeks and bled all the way until I delivered at 33 weeks. So there is a chance I will go through that again, but hoping for the best pregnancy ever!!!:fingerscrossed:
No problems here and healthy baby will come on it's due date and everything will be fine!! good luck girls! Talk to you soon.

V8~ thats annoying your friend has blabbed your news a bit....i had a bit of a similar problem with a family memeber on DH side...we told her about thte pregnancy but asked her not to say anything so that DH's mum could tel her side....but she told people anyway:hair: ...i hope your flu dissapears soon....do u have M/S aswell? that would be not very fun....
simba6~ congratulations....so i take it this was not a planned preganncy? hope it all goes well for you!
MelandChris~ its a shame to hear the interest rate rise has put strain on you at this time....i really hope you sort it out so you can stay where you are happiest....
cindye~ its easy to let yourself get stressed over small things...im sure were all guilty of that...
ive also had some bad dreams and some extra nice ones....i think it must have something to do with all the extra hormones floating around:laughing:
earlybirdbabies ~ your lucky if you havent started your M/S yet...im hating this part of it...makes me feel so useless and yucky....and sore boobs are still around...does anyone know when they stop hurting??
also i hope your pregnancy runs smoothly and you have a nice healthy bub at the end:yes:

Hi everyone!
How is everyone going? I am soooooo tired! I just want to go to sleep at my desk:sleeping:
Excited about my first scan next week. Can't wait! When is everyone having their scans? We still haven't told anyone yet. I haven't even told my mum and I tell her everything! My best friend guessed. I think she knows my cycle better than me! She has two kids and is waiting for me to catch up! So we aren't sure when to tell people. What are everyone's thoughts on the best time to tell???
HugsAndKisses
04-09-2007, 11:31 AM
hi there Top 78 thats not so great you feeling so tired and having to work through it...im so tired also and love this time of day cause my son and i have lunch and then both go down for an arvo nap:sleeping:
as for when to tell people i think its a personla choice...we have already told most of our family and friends and we are not really in the safe stage yet...but i look at it as i am pregnant and everything should be fine and if it isnt then i will be upset to tell people but at least i will also have many shoulders to cry in on the worst case scenario....
besides my MS gives me away :o
Hey All
I still haven't told anyone but my sister. So tempted to tell my mum cause she is worried about me being so sick and coughing and everything. But yeah will wait till i'm about 10 weeks. I find it hard to have a conversation without coughing. Aarrghh. No morning sickness thankfully, but didn't get it last time either, so hopefully i won't this time.
I don't know if i will get a scan, if i do i'll wait till 20 weeks. Mostly i will probably just see the midwife at 36 weeks and at the birth! lol Otherwise i'm only going to the doc if i'm sick or worried about something. Which today i am going to the doc so she will know i'm pregnant now, didn't really want to tell her but since i am sick i need her to know so that she can tell me if there is anything safe that i can take.
Congrats to the new may mummies, i'm sure there will be plenty in here soon :D Should do a roll call or something! lol

Hello Ladies,
Got my Obs and 8wk U/S booked in. Went to see my GP today and got referrals and also have to go for blood tests this week. I've only told mum, my sis and BIL. I'll tell my dad and bro after my 8wk scan, although I prob will tell my closest friend cause I tell her everything.
Otherwise all is well here, aside from a few cramps feeling fine. DD1 has started walking this week so we're having a ball, and she's also taken to playing with her baby doll this fortnight, weird timing, she pats her and rocks her and feed her, it's very cute.
Take Care xoxo

Hi lovely may girls,
wow i am lagging behind. Only Dh and me know at the moment that we are expecting and one friend. A good friend rang yesterday to say she is 12 weeks and i soooo wanted to say 'yay our kids can be friends' but help back. After last time i am really going to try and wait till 12 weeks.
I keep having dreams about my scan on friday and that the baby is happy and healthy (dont know why because it will be too early for a heartbeat at the scan but i keep dreaming about it) i tell my DH and he just says of course it will be, why wouldnt it. Oh to be so stress free would be lovely.
So far my m/s has been very rare and not to bad. Have had reflux which i have never had before and my lower back is really sore. Apart from also being tired i think everything is going quite well.
Have a great day all.

Just wondered what your thoughts were on internal scan for the first scan?? My first scan is next Thursday so should be 6w6d and pretty sure it will be internal but 2 friends of mine said to NOT have internals. What do you guys think?

05-09-2007, 05:59 PM
Hey ladies
sorry to intrude in your thread - im from the march thread and pop into other threads to see who of my ttc friends made it to due in threads.
Top - i would like to comment on the internal scan, if i may.
just ask yourself, would your qualified ob/gyno/midwife etc do something that would be harmfull to you or your baby?
i had my first scan internal and im fine, baby is fine. what is the difference between and internal scan and having sex? know what i mean?
ttcin - im sooo happy you are pg again and everything is going smoothly. you will be having a problem free pg and give birth to a healthy bouncy bub in only 8 mnths time or so. ( i hear you on the stressfree pg) now 13weeks and still stressing a bit. i know everything is 100% and that bub is 100%, just want to see bub again - 2w2d to go before seeing bub again)
good luck to all of you and enjoy your pg journey. it will be over before we know it and we will be holding our healthy bubs in our arms in no time.

Hey All
Beth, sorry you are having cramps hun, fingers crossed your levels go up on Friday. And yeah maybe your theory will be right there with the boy causing you pain already! lol.
Top - Internal scans not sure, i think with my first though i had a papsmear when i was about 5/6 weeks and still had a healthy bub so just check with your doc and if you're not comfortable with it, don't do it. :)
Hey Zera - welcome the the may mummies, is this your first bubba??
The flu is still lingering but at least i'm not coughing so much, thank goodness. Well i am also happy as AF didn't show, i knew that she wouldn't but you know still feels good as it's another confirming fact that i am actually pregnant! lol
Feeling quezy and get hunger pangs but then i don't know what i feel like eating so have nothing! lol

Today is my first day of feeling YUCK:barf:
I'm not looking forward to the day that much though! I'm so busy today and have cleaning upon cleaning to do. In my first pregnancy, I was soooo sick until 19 weeks and I swear I'd vomit at least 15 times during the day!! I lost 10 kg and then from 20 weeks till 37 when I delivered, I put on that 10 plus another 18kg.. I'm scared about the weight gain this time though cause I'm already a fatty so don't want more gains, wanting to be all baby this time!!

Hello girls,
I had a positive pregnancy test first thing this morning. I am soo excited. My due date is 9th May 2008. Today I have booked my first appointment with the obstercian and booked in at NSPH for the delivery.
I have only just found this site today. I will be very excited to meet other Mum's to be who are also due in May next year.
Cheers
Will this be your first child, or how many childen do you have, boys or girls and ages?
This will be our first baby. It is our 7 year wedding anniversary this Saturday, so the timing is really good. Valentine
Are you hoping for a boy or girl, and are you going to find out before the birth?
I have always thought I wanted a girl but in the last 6 months I have been keen on the idea of a little boy. Yes, we have decided that we will find out the sex of the baby.
Guess if you are having a boy or girl:
I think we will be having a girl
Are you experience morning sickness/nausia?
No. My boobs are a little tender and I have been weeing more frequently.
Have you told anyone apart from your partner?
I only did the test this morning with hubby at my side. Mum and Dad live down stairs (dual occupancy) and I ran straight down to them in my PJ's and showed them my 2 pink lines! :bfp:

Hi
Just announced in my other bubhub home the big news, so guess I should come and introduce myself here too (well will do in the intro thread!). Current dates are the 2nd of May, but based on No 1 I'm guessing that it may be an April bunny. Now 6 weeks and have had no MS (but then didn't last time either...only with orange juice?!?!) or even sore boobs this time which is a bonus so far!!
Looking foward to chatting to all
edited to add this here too, just in case anyone's too lazy to go looking :-)
Name ~ Amanda (obviously)...usually found in the Aug 06 thread - don't venture out into the big wide world of bubhub too often - not enough time in the day as it is!
Due date ~ 2nd May 08
Guess sex ~ thinking girl just because no ms or anything like last time, but would like a little boy (not really too stressed either way though) - won't be finding out either way
Where you live ~ Brisbane (actually pretty close to Zera06 from what I can tell)
Any other kiddies/how old? ~ A beautiful girl Charlotte who was 1 in August
Occupation ~ High School Teacher (Dance and Geography are my 2 teaching areas)
Other Info ~ DH is my rock - he sent me back to work when C was 7 months as I wasn't coping with the change of role as easily as I'd hoped, and he took the year off to stay at home with C!!!

Hi All,
It is great to see so many new May Mum-to-be's!!!
I have not been on for a while as I have been so scared of having a miscarriage I convinced myself I was having one. I got some yellowy-pinkish dishcarge and freaked as that is what happened last time I had the miscarriage. I was running to the toilet every 5 min but nothing happened thank goodness. So I decided to take a break from reading about preganancy and babies as it scared me that something would go wrong. It has been a week now and I'm feeling a lot more confident.
Just wondering if any of you think you are showing a bit yet. I am huge! My husband had a dream that we had triplets, maybe that might be true, or maybe I am just huge.
mum2peanut

Welcome to all the new May Mums
Miranda- triplet! that would be scary. I too have m/c fears, but just stay positive. This baby will be a sticky one, I haven't added this bub to my sig yet for fear of jinxing it.
I'm well, still just tired, occasionally an off stomach but nothing major. Not showing yet which is good cause it's easy to keep it under wraps.

mirandaj It's strange that you mentioned showing yet, because I only just started a thread on how I feel like my stomach muscles are gone and my big belly just wants to hang out!! I have had 4 other kids mind you so thats not suprising, however, I have felt like I am huge and have had friends comment that they can tell that Im preg. Only 6 weeks but showing like Im 5 months!! Wow we sure are collecting some may mummies in here.
Has anyone had an ultrasound yet and seen their new bubs?? I have to have one in 2 weeks time, to do Nuchal Translucency test, just because this is no5 and my doctor recommended it?? Anyways if you have had one, did they give you a pic?? Is anyone else soooo excited to see their baby and cant wait and wish you had your own machine!!:smiliedance: I do!! Ok gals, who here thinks they can guess what the other is having... Lets try it!! Ok taking a shot in the dark Im guessing V8 will have a girl!!:hugs: Keep it guessing gals.

Hi Everyone,
This is my 1st post here. Just been reading all of the exciting updates for the May 08 babies. We are expecting #2 on 01 May 08, excited but having hard time enjoying excitement of it all as my ms is so chronic it's all consuming. Started a week ago & is with me 24 hrs a day, can't eat much and:barf: alot!! Was like this with no 1 until about 13 weeks or so ended up in hosp :crying: . Will check in regularly, think I need a good distraction. Good luck to everyone here, here's hoping all these babies get here safe & sound!!

Hi everyone,
Well yesterday i made the 4 hour return trip to have my first scan and 2nd bloods. I didnt want the scan this early but being in the country it was now or not until after i saw my ob in adelaide which there would have been no point in as she does the scans there.
Anyway as i have said before i have no idea on dates because i havent had AF since M/C in july (and yes mirandadj and mum2peanut, like you i am so scared of m/c). Anyway all they could see was a tiny sac 8mmx4mm that he thought is the start of the pregnancy. I was so scared i asked him if he thought i had m/c and that it was going down again and he said. It all looks good, just too early and he is 100% sure it is less than 6 weeks and he thinks i am 4 1/2 ish weeks. He said they cannot say that it is or isnt viable yet simply because it is too early.
I then had my bloods and they said to ring up my Dr at 3pm to get results. Well after the scan i was really on edge and worried and when i tried to call Dr's i was on hold for 20 mins on mobile then got disconnected and couldnt get through to them again till 430pm, trust me i was:hair: . Anyway last week i was 130.5 and this week my hormone levels were 3755!!!!!!!! I am sooooo happy the nurse said i would be between 4 and 5 weeks and that i shouldnt stress because you wouldnt see the baby at that stage on an ultra sound. So now i feel i can relax a little more. I will change my adelaide ob appointment from the 24th of sept till a few weeks later though, but apart from that all is good.
Has anyone else had more bloods or scans yet?
amandaw - welcome, i hope you have a wonderful 8 months and it sounds like you have a wonderful DH :).
gizdiz- welcome too, i hope that m/s clears up for you soon, nothing worse.
V8 - yay on being 5 weeks, how exciting. Hurry up and tell that flu to get lost!!
Well i hope you all have a lovely weekend.
cheers,
p.s i am so confussed. If my scan and bloods are correct than i must have gotten a bfp about 5 days after implantation, which cant be correct, so i still wont be suprised if my dates get changed a lot.

Good luck HugsAndKisses, I will have to pop into the April thread, as due 3rd of May, so could end up in April if early.
Thanks for the encouragment Mum2peanut!
earlybirdbabies: I am relieved I am not the only one with a belly already.
My dr gave me a referal for the Nuchal translucency test, and send to call and book in now, however the OB receptionist said to wait until I see the OB. I am keen to get a scan so may call them up and book it in on Mon as OB not until 24th Sept.
Going to go spend some time with my husband so chat to you all soon.

Hi All May Mummies,
And a Big Congratulations to the new May Mummies.
My husband is home from work so thats why Im a little AWOL at the moment (he works away for three weeks at a time)
Hope everyone is going well, Im thinking I need a new doctor because mine hasnt sent me for bloods or anything and I have had a hard past of pregnancies.
Ive only just started to get some morning sickness, a bit worried cause I had terrible cramps last night.
My husband has admited he isnt really into this pregnancy, like he wants another baby but he isnt as excited as last time:(
But one of my bestest friends, who lives 8hrs away sent me a txt and said she had dreamed I was pregnant:) So Im confident this bub is a stayer.
Take care everyone..... Im off to a different doc tomorrow I thinks.
Hello Lovely May ladies
Hugsnkisses - goodluck with the April thread, hope you still pop in here.
Congrats to the new may comers: Kristynluke, gizdiz and amandaw :)
TTCin2007 - wow you have a long way to travel for blood tests etc, how annyoing!
Sorry to those with MS, gizdiz your's sounds horrible!
Earlybirdbabies - Thanks, i hope it's a girl! :)
I am going to guess that Mirandaj is having a girl too :) Be interesting to see how many boy/girls we have in May. When i had DS my mother's group was flooded with boys and only 2 girls.
The flu is finally going away, but still lingering just a tad. I am definately starting to feel pregnant though, i am nauseous but its not too bad. Don't think i'm showing just yet, but i am a bit tubby from DS still hehe!
Can't wait till i can tell DH, just have to wait a few more weeks. Can't believe i have kept so quiet! lol
Anyways lovelies, hope you are all well. :D

Thanks for the welcome!
I feel like I have a little belly, but I think it's just post Charlotte still! I'm just paranoid that someone at work might notice and get suss - want to wait till after the holidays before I start talking (will be even more interesting to see how long it takes for the kids to notice...and then how long the rumour mill will kick in before someone has the guts to ask me, desperately hoping not to insult me

Has anyone had an ultrasound yet and seen their new bubs?? I have to have one in 2 weeks time, to do Nuchal Translucency test, just because this is no5 and my doctor recommended it?? Anyways if you have had one, did they give you a pic?? .
based on last time, I'm guess U/s at the 1st ob appointment, which is at 10 weeks for me. We got pics and that's how C got the nickname "squidly" which still sticks.....my SIL is pregnant too and their baby is "Freddy" as in Freddy the fetus! Just wondering why they suggested the NT scan for you... I thought that that was really only for age (which yours obviously isn't an issue!) and really high risk situations??
Hope everyone is going well, Im thinking I need a new doctor because mine hasnt sent me for bloods or anything and I have had a hard past of pregnancies.
I had the bloods done at the first doc's appointment - all have come back fine, but I didn't ask, or was offerred any of the details....
Anyway, off for food!!!

Hi Everyone,
Amandaw: Thanks for the detailed answer, I wasn't offered any of my results of my bloods either, just told I was fine. Although the Dr printed them for me to give to the OB. I have had a look at them but don't understand them.
V8: Thanks - I think I am having a girl as well, I did a silly quiz on the internet yesterday that said it was a girl, as well as this chinese table thingy (I will post the link in here) that is supose to be acurate at guessing the sex. I also having a feeling about it being a girl.
My guess is that you will have a boy V8.
MelandChris: I am sure your husband is excited about the baby, maybe because it is early days it hasn't sunk in yet.
It still does not seem real to me that I am having a baby.

More new people- it's so hard to keep up, welcome to all you new mummies.
I've got an u/s booked for 7wks, just for my own sanity. I had one with DD and that's when M started getting called 'Peanut' hence my user name. I will also have the 12wk NT scan, I did last time. My obs like you to have this done before you see him. Think I see him at about 15weeks.
I've been weighing myself to see if there's any weight gain, none yet :fingerscrossed: for a light weight pg.
amandaw- it's always funny when kids at school start to notice your tummy. Esp in a primary school. I love playing tricks on them, esp the kinder kids, I tell them I ate too much Maccas the night before.
MelandChris- maybe your DH doesn't want to get oo excited for fear of something happening again. Once it's all good he'll prob be so excited.
Guessing the sex, ok I'm guessing MedandChris will have a boy  Chinese chart says boy for me. I'm be happy either way, would love a girl, so I could dress them matching and so they'd be good friends, but would also like a boy, cause little boys are such cuties and DH would love it.

Hi everyone,
Have posted an introduction in the other thread but thought I would post it here too.
Name: Nat
Due Date: Sometime mid-may.
Guess Sex: Not sure. Feel so un-pregnant at the moment so it's hard to fathom a gender yet. MS kicked in at the 6 week mark and lasted until 23 weeks last time so by next week I should be feeling the pregnancy!
other children: A little boy who turned 1 in august.
Occupation: currently a stay-at-home mum who tries not to stay home at all otherwise I would go insane with my son.
I logged on to bubhub pretty frequently with my first pregnancy but never posted because initially I thought I may jinx things and then after the three month mark I felt somewhat like an intruder into the august thread after i had been lurking for so long. So I am forgetting superstition this time and am looking forward to sharing the next 8 months with you all.
Hope you are all doing well.

Wow, Im border lining the girl-boy line cause my dates are 1st day last MP 31st July/1st August!! Strange! Well I guess there's only one way to tell, cheat and wait for my 18 week ultrasound! Which by the way is only 12 weeks away!!:yelclap:
No problems for me yet,:smiliedance: which Im very happy about!! Some MS but not bad. Boobs tingle off the wall...(.)(.) and the kids are coming up with the strangest names for the baby. Have you girls got any names picked out for boy/girl.
My boys want to name the boy Chad Reed (AMA Supercross rider) and for a girl Leela (from futurama). ha ha ha TV.
I want for a boy "Dax". For a girl, nothing yet cause Im pretty sure it's a boy!! Come on 12 weeks hurry up I wanna know!!

amandaw- it's always funny when kids at school start to notice your tummy. Esp in a primary school. I love playing tricks on them, esp the kinder kids, I tell them I ate too much Maccas the night before.
I teach mostly girls, and since they're all so body concious, I bet they'll be trying to sound out my staffroom before they actually ask me!! (at least if they ask, I won't be insulted...a good mates 4 year old asked me if I had a baby in my tummy about 4 months ago and I was semi-mortified - he'd seen both myself and his Mum pregnant, so knew what a real tummy looked like!

 This is soooooo me - last time, i accidently came across BH and then spent about 7 week just reading along before FINALLY introducing myself - while there were a few really big personalities to start off with (and I felt like I had very little to contribute) I learnt lots from the others, and now the Aug thread is a lovely lovely lovey bunch - I met 4 of them and would love to meet the others! What date was your no 1 born??

Is anyone else feeling just revolting?
Since last Thursday, I have had almost constant nausea - but haven't thrown up once. I wake up each morning, and run to the toilet, but only dry retch. I'm off coffee and chocolate (didn't think i could go a day without either!) and don't feel like eating anything.
Finally, about 5pm I feel like a normal person again, and i try to have something nutritious for dinner, but nothing really appeals to me.
Anyone else feeling like this?

Hi everyone,
Welcome to all the new girls, it is great to have you all.
Nat08, good that you are joining us early this time...nothing to be scared of:devil6: , no seriously we are all pretty relaxed and friendly in here.
A few of you mentioned that you didnt know your blood results, just that they were fine. I am sure that is what most people do. It is just because i am on edge after my m/c. When i had it they werent sure for a week what was going on so i looked up everything i could on bloods and scans, then i had the m/c. So this time i just have a huge need for information and that is why i now my hcg levels. I hope i didnt make anyone feel like they were missing out - i am just one stressed mummy in the making:yes: .
Cindye, i hope you are starting to feel better soon, i havent had the really bad m/s yet. I just wake up at 4am and feel a little :barf: and it lasts till i get out of bed in the morning but then i am usually fine.
earlybirdbabies, i cant decide if i want to know the sex or not. DH doesnt, but i think i do....but then i think it would be such a lovely suprise to not know. Maybe this being our first we will not find out and find out with the next one.
okay, i am off to look at these chinese charts you all are talking about.
Have a wonderful day everyone and here is some sticky baby dust for us to roll in to keep our little ones nice and safe.:babydust2:

I went to the doctor for a check up aI have been having these miserable head aches, found out that i have high blood pressure! 121/78?? I thought 120/60-70 was normal? Does anyone have any blood pressure results to compare as I dont think my doctor would say that it is high if he didn't think it was, but just wanna know the norm!!
by the way im soooooo excited to find out the sex of this baby. I went to this site online :
http://parenting.ivillage.com/pregnancy/pbabyprep/0,,j012,00.html
and it has 38 ways to guess your babies sex..
have a go and see what you think. I was 3 of one and 3 of the other so according to that, Im having both! LOL  Oh well let me know how u go. there is another site:
http://www.sexratio.com/ that will be an online test to determine what you will conceive! Dont know if its much help now!

earlybirdbabies that is really strange that your doctor called that high BP. Textbook normal is 120/80 and by no means would i call yours high, it sounds nice and healthy. All i can think of is that perhaps it is high for you. Everyother time your GP has done yours it might have been a lot lower which means it is high for your normal?????

Well, according to the Chinese chart I am having a boy. We aren't going to find out. We didn't find out last time and it was a nice surprise. I think DS had been born for a good 10 minutes before we looked to see. Am happy with either but am leaning toward wanting a girl more.

We aren't going to find out the sex either, as tempting as it is. I have beend absolutely stuffed these days, taken to having an arvo nap when Mackenzie does, don't know how a siesta would go down at work. "Alright children nap time, everyone's heads down" Got a good sleep in this morn at least. M didn't wake til 7:45, so that was nice, tomorrow's DH's turn to wake up.
Had a few abdominal pains today  things like that worry me. Can't wait for my 7wk u/s that will make me feel much more positive.

Mum2peanut & Kristynluke - I think it's true we worry about so many little things, but it's probably all normal. P.S I have been having the runs a bit too! Do'h!
Also not sure if i will find out sex, not even sure if i'll have any ultrasounds, just wanna breeze through and have an uncomplicated 8 months :) I bet i'll change my mind though and may get an u/s.

well got my first lot of morning sickness this morning woke up and had to run to the toilet not looking forward to the next 16 weeks hope it isnt as bad as last time. i also got really emotional yesterday over the most stupid things and just started crying cant wait to have an ultrasound and find out the due date cause i am so confused.
Hey Ladies
Kristynluke - That sucks you got morning sickness already. :(
I am still feeling crappy, my neck/throat is so very sore, going to the doc soon to check it out. Other than that, feeling ok pregnany wise, but my body aching is so annoying i was hoping this pregnancy would relax my muscles and my hypermobility syndrome eases up cause i am really sore.
Anywho, no major dramas, how is everyone else?

A little about us. I'm Rachel(20), DP is Aaron(20) and DS is Michael(almost 2). We live in sunny Brisbane.
So far all I have in the way of symptoms are feeling nauseous, sore (.)(.)'s and I'm eating like a pig! lol EDD is 7th May. This will be my DP's first biological baby. I say this because we met when I was 2 months pregnant with DS and DP is Daddy to all intents and purposes.
Hope to get to know you all soon!
Hey there Rachel, welcome , it's not too late at all, we haven't even got to the end of the month yet there will still be more ladies coming in i'm sure :)

Hi everyone,
Welcome to all the newies:wave: .
Just a quick question. Is anyone else not really 'feeling' pregnant yet? my last preg i was sick, tired and felt yuck. But then i was also doing shift work and run off my feet. I am not working now and apart from big (.)(.) with very small amount of pain and some odd tummy stretchy feelings i could forget i am preg. Some mornings i feel very slight nausea but nothing chronic.
I should stop worring, but any of you experienced mummies have any advice or reasurance for me....please:babydust2: :babydust2:

Hi girls,
Hi Rachel and bel - welcome to the thread.
TTcin2007 - I got sick last time in the 6th week. Up until then i felt fab. This worried me and I was sure I was going to lose the baby. When I started :barf: right on the 6-week mark I was kind of relieved, although I quickly got over that feeling. I did lots of reading in my first pregnancy and came to the conclusion that everything is normal. Only 50% of women get MS according to one of my books. I am only 5.5 weeks at the moment and am dreading next week. Thus far I have a few cramps and aches but I am putting the aches down to carrying my 12+ kg DS. He is sooooo clingy at the moment and only wants mummy.
Hey Bel :) Welcome to our thread, you're due the same day as me :)
I also don't feel pregnant, just maybe bloated, the flu has gone but now i got a killer sore throat, really bizaare. I don't have any ms, hoping to avoid it this time too :)

Ok - I'm in shock!
Yesterday we got a letter from our OB, outlining her fees.
After all our medicare / private health rebates, her "gap" fee is $5400. It says that a maximum of $2880 out of this can be reimbursed if you're eligible for the medicare safety gap. I figure we might be out of pocket around $3000.
So far, we've paid $200 for the hospital booking fee, have to pay for the NT bloods / ultrasound. OB's first visit is charged separately, another $200, there will be the hospital excess of $250, plus 18-20 week scans, and then extra if i have an epidural and also for the paediatrician.
We're going to use our entire baby bonus ( maybe more!) paying to get the baby out!!!
I had no idea it would be this much! The OB had better be worth it!

Wow that is a lot cindye. I cant remember what mine is off the top of my head but it is at least half that. Where do you live though, i am going to an Ob in Adelaide. My friend had her baby in Melbourne and it was sooooo much dearer.
oh and by the way everyone i take back what i said about not many symptoms last night. I have woken up with the worst:barf: that i have had this preg. had to get changed because the top i put on had a really strong washing powder smell and i couldnt handle it. Isnt pregnancy funny!

Hi Ladies!!
Congratulations to everyone!!
There are so many posts already & I've gone a bit cross eyed trying to read them all so I'll just have to pick up from here lol!
I would love to join you all & have someone to go through this experience with.
I did a test yesterday & although it was a faint result it's still :bfp: & using the calc EDD is 19/5/08.
We (well, mostly me, myself & I) are sooooo excited to be going on this journey again.
Will this be your first child, or how many childen do you have, boys or girls and ages?
I have one son, a real little treasure, Ryan 18mths old this month. I would like 10 more children but realistically two or three would probably do us.
Are you hoping for a boy or girl, and are you going to find out before the birth?
I think we'll try & keep this a suprise seeing as I'll probably be having a C-section. I thought my first was going to be a girl so maybe this time. I don't mind, as long as he/she is healthy it doesn't matter. Hopefully this one won't be our last anyway. It will be interesting to see where life will take us.
Guess if you are having a boy or girl:
Ummm.... girl?
Are you experience morning sickness/nausia?
No thank goodness! I've been up to wee wee during the night for the past two weeks. I'm feeling absolutely buggered & I'm a little tender around my UTERUS lol!
Have you told anyone apart from your partner?
YES!! I told mum because we're living with her at the moment & it was too hard seeing her & not blabbing so I did! It only took one day
Look forward to chatting with you soon.

I am amazed at how mnay new may mum-to-be's we have on here. Congratulations everyone!
I have had cramping since yesterday morning and some light spotting. I am really worried as that is how my miscarriage started last time. I wen't to the doctor yesterday and she said I might just be very constipated. She told me to take some stuff for costipation. I have done that and am not as costipated however still cramping and had more spotting last night. She has done a blood test to check hormone levels, and has asked me to get one Friday as well. I am going to ring her this afternoon for yesterdays results and to tell her still cramping (had the day of work today to rest and as worried).
I am going to try and move my OB appointment forward (is 24/9/07) at moment and am keen to get an ultrasound. My dr said an ultrasound won't detect a heartbeat this early (6 and half weeks) however things I have been reading say you can.

Mirandaj - i have everything crossed for you. Even if you cant get an u/s your bloods will give you a really good account of what is going on and at the early stage we are in they say that the bloods mean more. I'm sure all will be fine, but you rest up and try to stay calm.
sistabelle, welcome, i hope you have a lovely pregnancy!!

Hi sistabelle, look forward to chatting to you too over the next 7 months!
Thanks TTCin2007. I just rang my dr who said my hcg level was over 25000 and apparently high, so that is a good sign. Getting another one done on Fri.
Welcome Sistabelle, how exciting another may mummy!
Miranda - goodluck with your blood tests, i have my fingers crossed that all will be fine.
Cindy- Woah, goodness i couldn't justify paying that much money for an OB, as you said they better be worth it!
TTCin2007 - Oh, sorry you have ms, how terrible!
Me, i'm still ok, just really tired a lot! Went to the doc today and confirmed preg with my blood test but i knew i was anyways. Not much else to report.
Hope everyone else is well :)

I'm sure that your levels will be just fine and there will be no need to worry. Try and get some rest and (i know it's hard) try and get your mind off it - maybe watch a movie, read a book or something? Let us know how you go. :hugs:

  That made me PMSL!! My username actually has two meanings - V8 for cars as i love cars too, but mainly cause my name is Veronica which starts with a V and has 8 letters, so therefore
V8 and it was also my name on my senior jersey "V8 98" hehe! You will have to change your username though cause you aren't ttc anymore cause you're pregnant! lol
Jaaasy - welcome hun, :hugs: i read your story about Lilyana, i can understand your apprehension and shock, we will be here for you :) :hugs: and congrats!
Hi, I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hi. I just found out that I'm pregnant about two days ago and it's my first one, so I'm really excited and nervous :) Anyway, I'm not sure what else to say and there's 17 pages to try read through, so I'll probably just start reading from here. But it's nice to meet other ladies that are due around the same time too... and that are in Australia! I've been at another baby forum while TTC for over 7 cycles, but now that I'm actually pregnant, most of their advice is very american, especially when it comes to product. So, I'm glad to have found an aussie site :)

Congrats Romi and all the other May Mum's to be.
I'm due on 11 May got my :bfp: last night and confirmed again this morning - bit of a shock as we were trying to avoid a pregnancy by using an ovulation method. Gggrrrrr! My doc who oversees it was very apologetic!
This baby will give my little boy a sibling only 16 months younger than him. Not looking forward to that!
I'm hoping for a girl but have the feeling we're heading for twins.
Feeling good so far, just really hungry. This baby sucked in all my post pregnancy fat, so I'm actually looking slimmer than I have in a long while!! hahaha
Take it easy greazies

Hi Girls,
Well it has now been a week since we found out the good news. I have had my BT results and my pregnancy hormone level is 'very good' so I am happy about that.
Last Friday night I was checking out the forums here and came across the "Free pregnancy / baby samples" section (down the very bottom). I spent an hour or so emailing all the companies on the list requesting samples. On Monday my first one arrived and I have got a new sample each day this week. Very exciting indeed. So far I have got a dummy, some breast pads, some curash powder and cream, some bum cream, baby shampoo, bubble bath, soap and baby cream all from sebamed and today I got a small postpak with some wipes, br pads, cleanser, baby shampoo, a bottle teat and nice little pregnancy booklet all packaged in a clear plastic zip top bag (this was all from Pigeon).
I am putting them all in a little box ready for May, which I am sure will be here before we know it....
I have been a bit of a blabber mouth the last few days and told a few of my friends the good news. I know it is early but I feel so good this time and I just know in my heart that it is all going to be fine.
Hope you all have a great weekend and get lots of rest. Best wishes......

Hey Romi and Sarah, welcome to May mummies!
I went and saw a midwife today to chat to her about homebirth, i think i will employ her, we got along really well. I am really excited about it. I am feeling nauseas a bit and my appetite is huge! lol Have caved and told two friends and DH kinda knows but not definately i just change the subject if he asks! lol I can spill the beans in 4 weeks, so that will be kinda difficult keeping it quiet for that long, but i have done well so far i think!
Anyways, that's about all from me, hope you are all well.

Hi there
New to forum but have been stalking for years. I have dear little fellow Sol and he is two and a half. Yesterday we learnt that Sol will be a big brother next May! I'm much more excited about this pregnancy and feel heaps more relaxed. Also feel thrilled that dh and I conceived naturally b/c I have endometriosis. Have no idea about due date b/c wasn't paying attention to my cycle...will have to wait for a scan. I did the preg test because I was feeling off. What a lovely surprise!! Hope to keep up with other May mums during my pregnancy and make some connections!
cheers, Fabe
