OK ladies, I need some reassurance! This morning I had a bit of an ache on the right side, that moved in to the middle of my tummy about 5 minutes later and that ache lasted probably another 10 minutes! Ligament/uterus stretching you think?? I haven't had any pain since. I'm not really feeling sick, just the odd wave of nausea, still got sore (.)(.)'s and hungry as a hippo! I guess I'm just worry that every time I don't feel sick something bad has happened to the baby (because of my last m/c). I don't have my scan for 2 weeks, maybe I should go and get some bloods done to see what the levels are like for peace of mind. I'm supposed to be having bloods done the day after my u/s! Worry, worry, stress, stress :hair: (not good for the baby, I know).
Anyhoo, we have decided to go to NZ for Christmas this year (DH is a kiwi) so that should be great, booked our flights this morning. I should be 14 weeks when we go, so hopefully I'll be right to fly. We'll hopefully be there for the birth of my girlfriend's baby, and it will be nice to spend Xmas with DH's family/friends etc. We can't really afford to go, but hey you only live once right??
Well I'd better go and have some lunch before I faint. Talk to you all later on!
Mel
p.s. welcome Sheena2, all the best for a happy & healthy 7 or so months!

Ok, so I have calmed down a bit since my last paranoid post.
I went away for a couple of nights with some girlfriends to Daylesford. We had such a great time in our secluded cabin. We even had some massage therapists come out for facials and massages!
I think I really needed it and have come back feeling good (but still a bit sickly and easily tired).
Not much longer now till I can shout my news from the roof tops!
Here is last week's picture of my tum. I feel like I have grown a lot this week! I feel huge!

a bump katie??? i looked and looked and could only see a very perfectly toned tummy :). Not to dishearthen you but you are due a day after me and we are in week nine sweetie not ten, gee the preggy brain must be hitting you hard, dont worry me too:thumbsup: .
Emsmum, stress less sweetie. Last night i had a bit of pain that felt like period pain. i was worried and then i thought, it is not bend over in agony pain and there is no bleeding so just relax, plus it hasnt come back. I think what we are having is normal. Having said that, you poor thing having to wait 2 more weeks for a scan. I know the stress levels i have now i could not wait another two weeks. So if you are going out of your mind, really stressed tell your doctor you have pain and you need an u/s.
I just spoke to my mum on the phone (who lives interstate and i havent seen for a few months) and there is no way she could know i am preg as no one knows. Anyway she rings up and says in a excited voice 'any news;? I soooo wanted to tell her but i just said 'no how about you, like i was really bored'. If she has guessed that is monthers instinct that i never realised was so strong. Cant wait to tell her. But need the all clear first.
Have a great night everyone:wave:

Emsmum- dont stress you have nothing to worry about unless you are doubled over in pain and have bleeding its normal to have pains i have a few pains off and on.
Lucky you go to nz i need a holiday lol and your right you only live once so who cares if you cant afford it just have fun and enjoy life.
Kate- Sounds like you had a nice time with your girlfriends and i cant see the bump just a toned belly.
Sheena- Welcome to may mummys and Congrats on the pregnancy all the best on a happy healthy sticky bub.

Emsmum, stress less sweetie.
you poor thing having to wait 2 more weeks for a scan.
I will try to stress less, thanks ttcin. I don't want to have a scan until 9 weeks, because when I miscarried last time I saw the baby at 7 weeks, then it died at 8 weeks. I'd like to get past that 8 week mark before actually seeing it, if that makes sense. Weird aren't I??
It's so hard not being able to tell people isn't it. I know if my mum was alive I wouldn't be able to keep it from her, from everyone else yes but not my mum!
Emsmum- dont stress you have nothing to worry about unless you are doubled over in pain and have bleeding its normal to have pains i have a few pains off and on.
Yep, I know just being silly and wanting reassurance I guess. Thanks Kayla :hugs:
Lucky you go to nz i need a holiday lol and your right you only live once so who cares if you cant afford it just have fun and enjoy life.
I'm really starting to look forward to our holiday. It will be nice to get away, and it will be the last holiday, just the 3 of us, before bubs is born.
p.s. I was laying on the floor watching Madagascar with DD and she lifts my top up and says 'mummy, why does your tummy look so full?, I think you have a baby in there'. I just so want to say 'YES, YES, YES we are having a baby, you will be a big sister' but I'm too scared to tell her yet. She's not silly my girl!! Then she said 'daddy is mr farty pants and mummy is mrs fat tummy'.

Thankyou for all your touching messages girl. Have to go for another blood test on Monday, as todays results indicated that my levels are still in line with my gestational age (HCG=29 000)???? So Monday's test will most likely have dropped and then we go from there. It's such a confusing time, last time my m/c was a simple yes it's over, whereas this time it still seems they are not 100% I know it's all over but just want to be 100% before a D&C.

Hi Welcome and CONGRATS Sheena !!:smiliedance:
Kayangel- Yay we're 8 weeks ! Just one more month til u/s was thinking today , I'll just wait til 12 weeks , like Ems mum said you can get an u/s and something bad can happen after anyway so I'll just wait til 12 wk u/s, time pretty much flies anyway !!:)
Well my parents,Df's parents, our grandparents and two of our friends know , they are all very excited !! Will tell the rest of the family and friends after 12wk u/s. Our parents were like,We wanted more grandkids! It was so nice to tell them .
Emsmum-My doctor said niggling /pulling discomfort is normal as It's the uterus stretching and I've been really uncomfortable, but not in pain-sometimes I'll get a really quick hit of pain but I think so much is going on I think that's pretty normal. Ohh NZ sounds awesome ! Would love to go one day-my parents went and the pics were just gorgeous!:)
Anyway , you know how healthy foods been making me sick ? I ate so much junk today , god my stomach is so bloated tonight , I've been really uncomfortable already, last night I slept with a hot water bottle and will have to again tonight .I've been getting indigestion too and I never get that I don't know if It's from the preg never got It with DD anyway hope all is very well . xo
Hey All
Emsmum - you make me laugh, your DD sounds so cute, how smart that she already picked it up. I'm surprised too that DS who is not quite two also remembers mum has a baby in her tummy, he keeps giving my tummy hugs and kisses for the baby, it's so cute. Also NZ, how awesome!! Where abouts in NZ are you off to?
Mum2peanut - wow how totally confusing it must be heartbreaking not knowing for sure, i wish you all the best for Monday for some answers.
I'm doing ok, still tired all the time! lol. But it's all good. I'm supposed to be studying for an exam today, so better pull my finger out! lol

m2p, all this waiting must be awful for you. I bet you'd just like to know one way or the other. Only one more sleep to go! :fingerscrossed: there is still hope.
Thanks for the reassurance Persephone. Yep NZ is gorgeous. This will be my 3rd trip to NZ, and it will probably be the country I visit most in my lifetime, seeing as DH is from there.
V8, yep kids are pretty amazing at what they remember and figure out for themselves. I really cannot believe how big my tummy is getting and I'm not even 7 weeks, wonder if there's 2 in there  . Goodluck with your studying today, I don't envy you at all. I am a Bathurst widow today, DH has been watching it since 9am? and will no doubt watch it all day. Gonna tidy up a bit, take DD to the park, nothing too exciting! Oh yeah, we're off to Christchurch V8. Would love to go to Auckland, Bay Of Islands etc., but don't have the money to do both and the south island is where all of DH's family/friends are. I wouldn't mind going to Queenstown and having a look around, mind you there won't be any snow but it might be cheaper at this time of year!
mybutterfly
07-10-2007, 11:48 AM
Mum2peanut - I'm sorry to hear about the possible loss and the waiting game. I think that is the worse!! With both of my pregnancies I knew it was over, but the doctors weren't quite sure, so I kept having to go in for tests. I remember that period as the worse. Sending you lots and lots of hugs!!
As for me - well, I'm a bit like Emsmum. Every pain and twinge, I keep wondering if bubs is okay. The only reassurance is the constant nausea and occasional vomiting.
Has anyone had any spotting?? I keep having coffee coloured spotting (cm mix with blood I think). So, I keep having to stop my clexane injections, which scares me to bits. I know I probably shouldn't worry. I bleed from 6 to 12wk continuously with my first daughter, so it doesn't mean I'll m/c.
Also, my tummy was getting really big over the last week. But this weekend, it seems to be returning to normal?? Maybe I was just bloated before??
Oh, I can't wait for my next u/s at 10wks to see what is happening. 2 1/2 wks to go :(
Goodluck mybutterfly, hope everything is ok. You would have the added worry with your health condition too. :hugs:
Emsmum - Cool, we went to Christchurch last year in Nov, it was a bit cold too! They said unusually cold for that time of year. We also went to Queenstown which was awesome, TeAnau which was beautiful and amazing, Dunedin was quite nice and fun, also went to Fox Glacier which was ok and Greymouth which was totally boring, Wanaka we stopped through at and it was beautiful too. DS had just turned one when we went and it was so great. NZ is beautiful! The driving was pretty scary though some of the roads are so narrow and they are right on the edge of cliffs! So if you have an accident, you are gone! How exciting though, the flight is pretty good, not too long. :) I'm excited for you! lol
EmsMum72
07-10-2007, 12:08 PM
Mybutterfly, I really hope everything is ok for you. Hopefully your tummy was just bloated last weekend, mine gets bloated all the time. I haven't had any spotting (touch wood), but keep getting the odd twinge here and there. I'm sure we'll both be fine, and deliver beautiful, healthy bubbies in May next year
V8, We were going to go to Fox Glacier last year on our trip but ran out of time - glad we didn't go by the sounds of it. I also found Greymouth totally boring. My bro is headmaster at a college in Wanaka, but he's recently been offered a head master job in England so although he will still be there when we go over, he will be so busy preparing for end of year/moving to England that we won't get to see him even if we were going to Auckland. We're going for 2 weeks, so should have plenty of time to see heaps.
So if you have an accident, you are gone!
Jeez, thanks for that  . I know how treaturous (sp?) the roads are over there, but the scenery is amazing and luckily DH knows the roads pretty well. I've been trying to find fun things to do over there for DD, but there doesn't seem to be much for a nearly 4 year old apart from a wildlife park, the tram through the city, maybe the museum, the fudge factory (for me ;) ).

Hi everyone,
We went to the south island of NZ in April this year for our honeymoon. It is sooo beautiful, we did pretty much everything you did V8. You are so lucky to go lots of times Emsmum. I know what you mean about that being the overseas place you will go the most. My parents lived in Malaysia for a few years and dad's work paid for my sister and i to go visit each year. Now whenever we go overseas i am like, stop over in malaysia please. Or if i am stressed always trying to talk DH into a quick trip. I love the place so much it feels like my second home.
Well hope you all have a great day, 1 more sleep till my scan. I will be back on wed with results as i have to drive home (6 hours) so will stay in adelaide and get other things done.
Talk soon:wave:
Cool, 2 weeks is heaps of time, we did all our trip in 2 weeks. Oh and yeah it's good to know someone who knows what the roads over there are like, i was very surprised! Hmm, activities for a 4 year old, not sure either. We loved the chocolate factory at Dunedin, heaps of fun! We were lucky DS was quite easily amused he got so excited each time we went to a new hotel! lol
TTCin07 - Hey just a q - when are you going to change your username? hehe And also i would love to go to Malaysia, or Singapore, i just really wanna see more of the world as have only been to NZ, it was heaps of fun though! Next trip i plan for our family will be to Perth though, DH has never been there. :)
Bellas_mummy
07-10-2007, 01:15 PM
hey V8, yeah i know i should change my username. Maybe after i know things are going to be okay???
Malaysia is soooooo beautiful i also love Bangkok. Both of these places are sooooo cheap for us Aussies and the culture is amazing, people are so friendly. Hong Kong was to smelly and busy for me, but had some beautiful hotels. Singapoor is very strict on litter etc and consequently feels sterile to me!! If you hadnt been to another asian city you would probably like it, and it is good just very sterile and soooooo many people. Most things are not much cheaper than in australia because the dollar is similar. However if you are into electronics singapoor is the place to go as you can haggle down the prices soooooo low.
Perth will be good, i havent gone for years and would love to go again soon. I am hoping for a trip to Melbourne soon as DH is building a new race car and we might have to get some stuff from there.
Well hope you are all well.
Emsmum, like V8 said i am sure your little daughter would love the cadbury factory.
EmsMum72

Emsmum, like V8 said i am sure your little daughter would love the cadbury factory.
I know I certainly would  I don't think we'll end up going to Dunedin, maybe Nelson (top part of the sth island), and when I said before that my brother lived/teached in Wanaka I think preg brain had kicked in because he doesn't live/work there, he lives/works in Wanganui which is near Auckland - you probably wondered why I was cr@pping on about Auckland :banghead: . Wanaka is where we were also going to go last year, but didn't get there! Might just not make any concrete plans and see where we end up, they're often the best kinda trips! :D Just quietly, I'd much rather be going to Fiji - where I could just lay around by the pool, swim around like a big whale, perve at spunky fijian men (he he), eat lots of yummy fresh fruit, drink non-alcoholic cocktails, listen to island music, read books, and sunbake but that aint gonna happen! Aaggh, a girl can dream!! I'm not complaining, NZ should be lotsa fun.

Wow lots of talking going on today!
Persephone- Yes something can happen but as i said i read that theres a 90% change of contining the pregnancy if a heat beat is heard between 7 and 11 weeks, i for one happen to like these odds :D and also need a u/s to put my mind at rest plus i will also get 12 week scan.
Emsmum- arent you getting a early scan? i thought you were.
Your daughter sounds so cute, must be sooo hard not telling her she is going to be a big sis.
mybutterfly- I had abit of spotting last saturday night but went away by morning, spotting is very normal.
 to everyone else.
Emsmum, i thought it was odd you saying that your bro lives in Wanaka but you wouldn't see him as you're not going to Auckland, haha, different island! lol And oohhh, i would so join you going to Fiji, that's another definate i want to do in the next few years or head back to NZ and go home via the Cook Islands, another place that looks just beautiful!
EmsMum72
07-10-2007, 03:09 PM
Emsmum- arent you getting a early scan? i thought you were.
Nope  , no early scans for me. First one is in 2 weeks, I'll be 9 weeks. It's a big thing for me, getting past that 8 week mark before I actually see the baby, so I'll be a good girl and wait patiently!
Emsmum, i thought it was odd you saying that your bro lives in Wanaka but you wouldn't see him as you're not going to Auckland, haha, different island!
Yep, I'm a bit of a weirdo :D
lol And oohhh, i would so join you going to Fiji, that's another definate i want to do in the next few years or head back to NZ and go home via the Cook Islands, another place that looks just beautiful!
I would love to go to the Cook Islands, never been there before, looks gorge! Hubby and I got married in Fiji 5 years ago and it's my favourite place in the world, definately my idea of heaven!

Oh yeah, nah I know! I thought you meant early, as in this week. Nevamind, I seriously have mush for brains today :D
OK, I'll answer your question again! Yes, I am having an early scan Kayla  I always have early 'dating scans' cause I'm never sure of when I conceived (wonderful 'regular' cycle that I have - NOT), and even if I didn't I'd pretend that I had no clue of when I conceived just so as I could get a scan done

Just thought I'd ask if anyone else is having problems with dry skin. My hands get SO dry, sore, flaky, red and even seem to have little cuts in them. I'm drinking heaps of water every day, but I'm assuming it's from washing the dishes, and all the hand washing is just drying them out. Maybe I'll just have to stop washing the dishes :D . Anyone else finding this??

Hi Everyone,
Have not been on in a long while so lots to catch up on. There are lots of new posts so I have only gone back a few pages.
Not much new with me. I am still really tired and sick! Everyone knows now that I am pregnant as my belly is very big. People are shocked that I am only 10 weeks, and I am now only wearing maternity pants.
On Thursday we are going to Daydream island in the whitsundays, I will be just under 12 weeks, so I hope I feel ok flying. I need a rest so am looking forward to the break from work.
Emsmum, not dry skin but my hair is so dry! But yeah, skip the washing dishes anyways! lol
Miranda - good to hear from you, thank goodness i'm not the only one in maternity clothes already!! lol They just fit waaay more comfier than my normal clothes, i'm thinking it will be totally obvious when i see mum and dad this week! lol
But yeah after this week pretty much most of the people i know will know that we are pregnant also. :) I feel so big it's ridiculous!

Mmmm... Fiji! We went there for our honeymoon in January this year. It's such a beautiful place and I can't wait to go again. Also want to visit Dubai, where friends of ours are living at the moment. Sound amazing.
DH and I are planning a holiday to NZ in 2011 - ages away, but he's a huge rugby fan and that's when the next world cup is on. He's still :crying: about the Wallabies loss on Saturday night.
On Saturday I was telling a friend that my nausea had settled down over the last few days - well, i spoke too soon. After having vegetarian pizza on Saturday night (have to stay away from those nasty deli meats!) I spent most of yesterday feeling terrible. Lucky I feel a bit better today.
Have first OB appointment on Wed - only 2 more sleeps. Hope she does an ultrasound so we can check up on the little one. After my bleed at 8 weeks, the brownish spotting I had went on for about 2 weeks. It was usually only once a day, when i wiped after going to the loo, but it was still concerning. Even though things "down there" are back to normal, I would still like the reassurance of knowing that everything is just how it should be. And I'm sure that DH wants to ask the OB if we can get jiggy with it anytime soon!
DH has nicknamed the bub P.C. - for "Precious Cargo", and tells me every morning to take care of P.C. He's also referring to the bub as "he" and says that until proven otherwise, that's what it is!
Friends of ours had a baby girl early yesterday morning, so we're off to the hospital tonight to visit. We bought the baby the cutest little pink dress. She's their third child, and the other two are boys, so I think they'll be really excited to finally have their little princess.
Anyway lovely ladies, hope everyone has a great day.
Ciao!

Hello everyone, just thought i would butt my big head into your thread and announce im due on May 30th. Another baby due at the end of the month so i am behind everyone again. It was a bit of a surprise, we were not going to try for the next one till next year (oops), im not big on winter babies, i hate the cold so getting out of bed in the middle of a freezing night is going to suck.
This is my fourth pregnancy, we have three girls, so are hoping for a boy this time around. Either way this is my last baby :gloomy: . We wont be finding out what we are having, i like the surprise at the end, even if it isnt what you were hoping for.
I am contemplating a homebirth, my other babies have been easy labours and births so im thinking i might like to do this one at home. I have to do a bit more research and decide whether i am brave enough.
Look forward to chatting with you all.

Well girls, my life pregnancy seems to have gotten even more confusing. Had my 2nd blood test today and my HCG levels have gone up  The Dr is just as confused as I am. So I"m booked in for more bloods on Wed followed by another joyful internal on Friday. Have to go up to Sydney as Wollongong is booked out until the end of the month. And supposedly no one else down here is good enough.
Everything seems to be contradicting itself, now I seem to have Mornig sickness, feel like vomiting on and off over the last few days, but also had some brownish, red spotting :gloomy:
I just want to know either way, this is getting ridiculous. I wasnted it all sorted by the time school goes back next week, and it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I don't want to take any days off work, but it may be inevitable.
lillipilli- your bub is due on my birthday!
Bel1978- great news about your bub
Hope eveyone else is going well.
Mum2peanut - Oh my goodness, what a saga for you guys, i hope it all goes well on Wed and Fri for you! I still have my hopes up that everything is going to be ok with you and your little one. :)
Lillipilli - Welcome to May mummies!! Congrats on your 4th, i love your daughters names all so pretty. And yeah try the Home Midwife Association and also Joyous Birth is a great forum for homebirth. :) I am planning on homebirthing this one and also Pixie is another trying for a homebirth but she is in England. :) Goodluck and if you want to ask anything ask away! lol
Cindye - That is so cute your hubby calling it P.C. Love it!
Bel - Goodluck hun, positive news hearing bubs heart beating.
Zera - ahhh no toned tummy here either! lol And bugger the hormones can be annoying hey! I cry watching the news and Oprah and all sorts of things!

Hi Lillipilli, welcome to the thread and CONGRATS !!! :smiliedance:
I know exactly what you mean about a winter baby , I am dreading the sleepless nights in the cold and feeding during the night, our house is freezing too ! DD was born in Spring so last time didn't have that prob ,I find it so hard to get out of bed in the morning too in winter  I'm cold just thinking about it !!
m2p- I can't believe what your going thru ! :hugs: hope It all works out ok , My mil told me a very similar story to yours , she had a little bit of spotting and her tummy was growing fast then It seemed like it stopped and she had an u/s doc said she m/c and at last minute they found she was still preg with her 2nd ds that is fine and well today, she thinks it was twins and she lost one, because you saw 2 sacs do you think maybe thats a possibility :hugs: Oh I really feel for you .Goodluck hun !!!:babydust2:
Kayangel - Can't believe you fainted ! Poor thing , you have to be so careful with baby if your fainting, take it easy !xx:)
To everyone else , hope your all doing well .

Hello there
Daydream Island, sounds wonderful mirandaj! Enjoy your holiday, put your feet up, get some sun, do some swimming and relax.
V8, I'm guessing that dry hands/skin/head etc. are all due to the hormones so it's all good! What's a bit of pain or discomfort for a few months when you get a beautiful, healthy baby at the end of it all!
cindye, goodluck at your appt on Wed. Hopefully you get to have a scan and will see your little jellybean!
lillipilli, like kayangel I am loving the idea of having a winter baby. My DD was born in the middle of January and it was SO hot, especially breast feeding - her body heat + my body heat, god it was hot. I'm very, very glad to be having a winter baby so I can rug HER up, put warm beanies, mittens, all in one warm snuggly suits on HER!
Bel, love the pic thanks for sharing! Your baby looks so tiny. Aren't they just the most amazing creations???
zera, thanks for the message about our angel babies and for the hugs. I'm sorry to hear that you're crying so much, it's such an emotional time what we're all going through at the moment and our hormones are going crazy. There are so many things I can't watch on tv at the moment cause I :crying: , and if DD gets upset she breaks my heart more than usual.
m2p, I am SO sorry for all of this confusion you are going through, and I hope that the extra blood tests and internal give you the answers you're looking for, that you have a beautiful, healthy baby in your tummy. Keep your chin up! :hugs:
Pixie, I hope you had a great weekend away.
Kayla, that's not good about fainting. Did you eat enough, and drink enough water. I sound like such a mother hen! Did you go back to Uni today. Take care of yourself hun!
Well DD and I got back into the swing of things today with swimming lessons, I'm so glad the school holidays are over :smiliedance: . Mind you, I felt bludy awful this morning and the idea of swimming made me want to :barf: but I felt great during and after swimming, and my boobs actually stopped hurting for a full 10 mins, so that was great. It seems swimming is great for morning sickness, that's what I found anyway.
My hands a still really sore, cracked & dry and when I was shopping this afternoon this spunky young guy with the bluest eyes I've ever seen stopped me and rubbed some mineral sea salts and moisturiser into my hands. Felt great, and the eye candy wasn't bad either  . I didn't buy anything tho, $60 for the salts & $50 for the moisturiser (that was the 'on sale' price).
I think I will go and invest in some new maternity pants tomorrow. Most of my pants are getting too tight, apart from my daggy old trackies, but I can't really wear them out in public. I think I am 7 weeks today :smiliedance: .
Ciao for now, I'm off to get some beauty sleep!!

Hi all  no personals as sienna is having a nap.... so im quickly doing things...
Im so glad i have a good sleeper when it comes to being pregnant.... Sienna is 5 months today... I have a really bad cold but i cant take any thing... so lucky that DH did every thing for her on sunday morning so i could sleep...
My Ob mentioned the down syndrome screening test.. for Sienna he knew i would say no after all the trouble we went through but he asked thinking i would say no, im not sure as we will have a 12 month old..... he said he would send me for the blood test and then decide as i have too much of a risk if i want the test done.. i have to come off my needles which means i could lose the baby any way... so i guess the answer is no.. i will get the blood test done but thats it..

EmsMum- No i didnt eat or drink enough as i was busy yesturday rushing around after people had appoitments and calls to make but i am going to be very careful to keep eating and drinking today.
No im not back at tafe for another 3 weeks :crying: as i am meant to be on placement which is working in a child care centre but the doctor advised me against it as if i catch anything from the babies it could harm my baby and possible m/c so not worth the risk. There is always someone sick in child care and so many germs.
Thanks for worrying :hugs: its nice :)
Persephone- Ill be sure to take it easy, off to doctors today so ill tell him about it.
Bel- i hope your cold gets better soon.

Morning ladies.
Welcome & Congrats to any newbies :)
I went away for the weekend to my cousins wedding. It was great! Sorry for no personals. I hope you are all well :)
As for me I am tired and still have m/s. Not as bad as some but it's still a pain! Had an ultrasound last week and saw my gp for the results yesterday. Everything looks good and my blood results are great too, will just need to get a rubella booster after bubs is born.
Is anyone else having an NT scan at about 12 weeks?? My GP has referred me to get one(even though I'm not at a very high risk) so will be booking that in soon.

Im booked in for mine on october 23rd... so excited to see my bub again. I have already had 2 scans, I had 2 bleeding episodes so I had to have scans to see if bub heart beat was still there. On my referal my doc wrote "IUFD?"... Inter-Uterine Feotal Death. I was devastated. But when I saw the bub just bouncing around in there, it was soooooo good just to see that little heart thumping away:smiliedance: . Well how many of us will be finding out the sex of our bubs.? Ive lost track of how far I am so when I see the counter on the bottom once Ive posted I will be back to dates. Pregnancy brain or what.
We are moving house wednesday and in my wisdom, I got so involved in packing, I packed all the food and all the cutlery and plates... We have been living on take-away for the past few days:barf: .. eewww. Have even packed the toaster and cereal and everything. Ummm, derrrrr. B had to have tuckshop today cause I packed all the school food. Poor kid. well wednesday isnt far away and Im soooo looking forward to a new house (with a pool).Valentine
Have fun girls and Ill be back in once the move is complete... YAY.

Hi All  ,
Keep popping in and then not showing up for ages. Sorry! Had the 9 wk scan yesterday and it was all good - phew! Know what you mean about the gut - I know it's mostly the muffin-top from my first pregnancy plus bloating. My normal work clothes are quite fitted, so I can't really move into maternity clothes until I tell them. I didn't want to say anything until 12 weeks (I'm 10 wks on Fri), so I'm doing my best to disguise my fat belly for a couple of weeks.
Have DH's god-parents staying for 5 days from Thursday (from Switzerland) and I am trying to figure out how to get the energy together to clean up the house & join DH in being their travel guide. Damn this morning (day & night) sickness. DH is busy taking the lion's share of dealing with our DD's energetic morning & evenings, plus everything in the kitchen. Can't bare the thought of doing anything with food - blagh.
Mum2peanut - :hugs: to you. I think you are amazing not to have completely lost it by now on-line.
Take care of yourselves lovely mummies!
Im not going to bother with the NT scan, i'll probably just get the 20 week scan and that's it. I may or may not find out the sex. I still have got no idea what names to pick either!
Anyone else feeling flutters? I know it sounds crazy but i swear i can feel bubs jittering around in there, it's so weird to feel so early! I'm a little over 9 weeks!
Still feeling tired and nauseaous, but it's all good.
Emsmum - i went swimming the other day too, it was so refreshing and energising, would go again today but have to go out soon to the chiro my back is killing me.
Earlybirdbabies - goodluck for the move, and yay for the pool!

My head is telling me it's just my tummy digesting dinner (I am only feeling this at night when I am lying down) ..... but I like the idea of the possibility ...
I completely understand other's choice not to have the 12 wk scan. Given the ages of both DH & I, we are getting it done. To be honest, I just LOVE the excuse to see my little .... worm/lizard (??) .... and hear his/her heartbeat.
Great idea about the pool - think I'll have to use the last couple of months of my (generally unused) gym membership to get in the pool.

Vee I was sure I felt something the other night in bed!
Yesterday I was taking out the recycling and in our block are a few families all with Nannies I am the only SAHM and one of the nannies said "you have baby" now I thought she meant Eliza and I nodded and said yes.. and she smiled and said "how many month are you?" WHAT!!!! I'm am that big already lol I was looking quite huge due to the end of the day and just had dinner lol I lied and said 3 mths..her eyes nearly fell outta her head. So I must look really massive
Welcome BB I was due at the end of March last time & had an April baby but stuck with my march due date buddies!
Anyone else starving all the time? I was never this hungry with DD!!
We picked out some names this morning nothing set in stone but we like them we keep them visible so we get use to them then once we found out the gender we start calling them by name! So exciting!!!

Hi BirthingBeauty, I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't had a dating scan yet, but think I'm due around the 28th May, but could end up having the baby in June. Will know more in a few weeks.
I will be having a nuchal scan because I'm such an old nanna and it's highly recommended for me.
Flutters you say V8. Well I thought I was the only crazy one  . Twice I have felt little flutters, or like bubbles popping around in my tummy but just thought I was being ridiculous. Not at 7 weeks surely?? I'm actually looking forward to going swimming again, it was amazing what a 'pick me up' it really was.
Rachel, glad to hear your ultrasound went well :D
sammum, I'm sure the idea of entertaining anyone at the moment is enough to make you want to :barf: (even more, LOL). I certainly wouldn't want anyone staying with me ATM. We are going to NZ in December and I'm looking forward to getting away, but not looking forward to staying with my MIL & FIL (hubby is making me stay there  ). They just drive me crazy after about 5 mins, so I can't imagine how I'll be after 2-3 days with them (great for the stress level :banghead: ).

Are we talking about the same thing here im getting the 12 week blood test for the down syndrome screening.. is that what you guys are calling the 12 week scan.. i get scans every 2-4 weeks at the moment anyway.. Im a little confused i dont get a scan for that test.....
Rachel87 i dont pay for my blood test... as for the follow up test i cant have it done any way for medical reasons... as for scans i have to get them all the time and i pay between 130-180 a scan my Ob does one every other visit but sends me else where for major scans.
I feel a bit odd here as i just went through all of this i think i have the youngest bubba on here......
Rachel87
09-10-2007, 05:54 PM
The 12 week scan people refer to is the NT scan that they do between 10-14 weeks to test for down syndrome. I would like to get the scan done but unfortunately we just can't afford to shell out $160 right now. Our car has just gone caput AGAIN after we just spend $2000 on fixing other stuff and new tyres. *sigh* it's never ending. I need a money tree lol

09-10-2007, 06:06 PM
Bel1978, the NT scan looks closely at bubs for markers of down syndrome. They often do a blood test with it. I'm in a really high risk category for pregnancy as well - I have to see a MFM every 4 wks until 20 wks and then I'll be seeing him fortnightly. Then weekly. I also have to have scans really regularly as well, due to my blood clotting problem and my first pregnancy. But luckily, I'm going through a high risk unit at a major hospital seeing a MFM, so they just charge it to medicare. I'm definitely having the NT scan, but I won't have the other tests if the results are bad. I agree, there is just too many risks. I can't afford to get off the clexane and aspirin.

Well I think my 'baby' is the eldest, and I think I'M the eldest mummy to be, so I wouldn't worry.
Yep, the 12 weeks scan for me tests for downs. I'm not sure if it will cost me, but I don't think so because I'm going through the public system - well it didn't when I was pregnant with DD in Sydney and I went public with her too (RPA).

Ok now i know what your talking about i have to have that scan any way to me its a normal ultrasound its the amniocentesis (http://www.babycenter.com.au/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/testsandcare/amnio/) that im talking about that i cant have for medical reasons.... I have another scan at 18 weeks and they cost about $180 each.. my Ob scans every other visit i have with him...
It was that scan that they confirmed one of our bubs had a hernia, heart attached to its stomach and a leg didnt form right...

Hi Everyone ,
Pixie ,I know exactly what you mean , I have been starving and I wasn't like that with DD, I'm so suprised that you can feel so sick yet be so hungry - I am eating foods I never usually eat - they all contain sugar  I never eat sugary or fattening foods usually so this is strange for me - I'm eating foods I usually don't even like
Now who mentioned flutters? This is sooo crazy cause I am way too early to feel bub but at night I feel definite flutters! I've been saying to DF that maybe my dates are wrong cause I've never had my hormone level tested or an u/s so now I'm wondering...unless u feel earlier with 2nd bub..I don't know:confused: anyway...
ttcin07-So glad your scan went well, That's great your 10wks ...nearly in your 2nd trimester YAY!:yelclap:I Can't wait til I reach the 2nd trimester !!

This thread is really fast moving, i will have to check it every hour just to keep up. I am still getting to know everyone so it will be awhile before i start doing personals, i am shockingly bad at them anyway, always forget who wrote what.
I laughed when a few people say they love to dress their winter babies up in cute warm clothes. I hate that the most, trying to get their little fingers through the long sleeves, they always have them splayed like a starfish.
I probably wont get the NT scan, we are still fairly young so not in a high risk category. I wont be finding out what it is either, i like the surprise.

oh and the worest part is i have to get a pap smear.
Ah, the joys of being a woman  well you'd better get used to doctors inspecting your nether regions because before you know it you'll be pushing a baby out of there and you'll have doctors/middies seeing it all and then after doing that you won't care anymore :D . A pap smear's nothing to worry about hun, but I'm sure you must be a tad anxious being your first time and all - just try to relax & breathe when you're having it done!
I also craved sweet things with DD, moreso savoury things this time around. Although today I could think of nothing worse than eating :barf: feeling very ordinary and my boobs feel like they have razor blades in them.
We'll be finding out the sex, can't help ourselves. I couldn't find out and not tell hubby what sex the baby is, I'd be dropping hints and wanting to tell him so badly. I think if he didn't want to know then I'd wait until the end, but that's just me!
ttcin, so glad to hear your scan went well. I was thinking of you yesterday.
Have a good day ladies

Yeah, I know - it's awful some of the things we have to endure! I'm not 100% sure if there is a risk of having a m/c. I had one with DD when I was about 20 weeks and I vaguely remember them telling me there was a risk of m/c but I hadn't had one for years and really needed to have one done. You might just want to ask your doctor before having it done. There may be a slight risk

Kayla- I've had a pap smear when pregnant, they used a rounded instrument instead, it's not harmful at all. And they're really not that bad, it's more the thought of it. Also I loved having a winter baby, in little bonds suits and all snuggled up. It's so cute.
Zera- wow u/s in America, that's pretty cool.
I had yet another blood test today. I'll ring for my results later this arvo, I feel like I live in the Drs and pathology these days.
Hope everyone else is well, heading out to have lunch with my sister, both our girls are at daycare, it's always strange going out without them. I hate sending DD in the hols, but I don't like to upset the routine of her going.

Oh yes we will defintely find out as long as bubba allows us to the the Gems! I can't wait 40 weeks lol + I like to start calling them by their name it feels more real and personal to us.
Zera hope you can afford the scan over there lol
emsmum I hear you on the razor blade nipples mine are the same and I am still breastfeeding Eliza so some days I'm desperate trying to get it outta her mouth lol and she says "no no mi mi bubba boooby" lol
It will be spring here in the UK when this one is born the weather is mild here so pants and a top and a cardi should be enough.
I agree I love woolly clothes on bubba's but sheshh it's a nightmare getting it on there even when they're this age!

Good Afternoon Girls!
Well, our OB appointment went well - our Dr is lovely and we had an ultrasound. The little one was dancing away in there and measures right on the mark for 10weeks, 5 days. It's such a relief to know that our bub is ok. And DH is pretty happy to know we can get jiggy with it again.
After our OB appointment, i went to have blood taken for the NT scan, which will be next wednesday.
I'm really looking forward to dressing the bub up in warm winter clothes, and wrapping them up nice and tight in their blanket.
Pixie - I'm jealous of all the cute clothes you'll be able to get at GAP! I've been checking out their website and hoping that i can get my mum and dad to get some baby stuff for us when they travel overseas next year.
Kayangel - i'm due for a pap smear next month, and our OB said that it's ok to wait until after the birth because if there was something wrong, they can't treat you when you're pregnant anyway.
M2P - i'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you go.
zero06 - maybe you can pick up some baby GAP for me while you're in the US!!!!
Well I'm off - afternoon nap time for me!
Ciao Bellas!
Hey Ladies
Glad i'm not the only one feeling like they are experiencing 'flutters!' hehe. I am so undecided if i'll find out the sex of bubs, it's taken me ages to decide if i'll even have the 20 week scan, i'm thinking i will at this stage though just to rule out any problems.
And i'm so excited i get to tell my parents this weekend. Then we can tell the IL's and everyone else. :) Told a few close friends already, but still wanna tell everyone else.
:) Mum2peanut, did you get your results back yet? I hope it's all ok.
I am also not looking forward to a winter baby, getting up in the cold to breastfeed, although i will hoepfully be co-sleeping so can stay snug in my bed with bubs. Also not looking forward to the layers of clothes bubs will have to wear. I never know if i put enough clothes on them or too many clothes! DS was easy born in Nov, pretty much just a nappy for him for the first few weeks. :)
Pixie - Omg, i can't belive someone actually asked you if you were pregnant already, i would have said i was 3 months too, i am scared someone will ask me specially when i wear maternity clothes on some days and then be shocked when i am only 9 weeks! lol
Hugs to everyone else.

My goodness, this is a busy forum - I'm sorry for not replying to others ... need to go have a quick lie down before picking up DD from daycare.
Kayangel - had a papsmear with my scan on Monday, and my obs didn't mention anything about risk, and I'm confident she would if there was. I wasn't actually due until next Feb, but she said it couldn't be done then - maybe it's riskier later in the pregnancy. But I agree, best to ask. In any case, promise it doesn't hurt. Just a little weird. I have a female obs so she warms up the instrument first - I'm sure the guys do this too.
EmsMum72 - yeah, I think we'll find out again this time. I'm so impatient - I couldn't bare not to know. I'm like you, I couldn't keep a secret from DH so if he really didn't want to know, then I wouldn't find out. But surely this gives you extra credit in the name selection process??
zera06 - don't supose you need the scan in San Francisco? I have an Aussie friend who lives there who just had a bub & I could ask her who she went to and how much it cost?
V8 - How exciting that you can finally! share the news - what a great weekend you'll have. I know what you mean about the layers thing. DD was born in June and we had a rediculous amount of layers on her (we live in a Queenslander which is GREAT in summer for ventilation, but lets every tiny breeze in during winter - brrrrrrrrgh). We had her in a singlet, bonds growsuit, flanelette suit, and a flanalette sleeping bag. In hindsight, we obviously over-dressed her, so I'm grateful she's ok. But in all other respects it wasn't too bad - although I do remember feeding her surrounded by a thick doona. Probably close to cutting off DD's airsupply. Come to think of it, it's amazing she made it thru that winter....
m2p - any news?:fingerscrossed:

It is probably better to get you pap smear done now anyway, after bubs is born it is always bit more tender down there, so being that little bit stretched by the thingy isnt pleasant especially if you got stitches. They dont hurt at all, so there isnt anything to worry about.

m2p, how you going hun? Heard any news re your blood test yet?? I hope lunch with your sister was lovely, it's nice to have a 'child free' lunch every now and then. I always used to feel guilty sending DD to daycare during school hols too, but they don't know and it does muck up their routine.
Pixie, all I can say is OUCH to your DD still breast feeding. No-one is getting near mine at the moment, especially DH cause DD isn't interested in them anymore. But come 7pm I'm gently prizing my bra off because they are just so, so sore!
Kayla, did you get to have a scan today??
I won't mind getting up to feed bubs in winter because we have ducted heating and usually have it on low overnight. I always got up to feed DD, didn't really like just laying in bed dozing while she fed for some reason, probably cause I didn't want her to disturb DH cause he wakes up early in the mornings for work. Aren't I a thoughtful, considerate wife?? :D
Well we had mothers group today and met some friends for lunch so it's been a busy day. Had a little nanna nap this arvo and am feeling a little better, however I've been quite nauseous.
Off to cook tea now, mmm that is a really appealing idea - NOT :barf:

Im still wearing my maternity clothes as sienna just went 5 months.. so i think i can hide it for a while

Hi Girls,
No results yet. When i rang the Dr hadn't looked at them yet, and then we I tried to ring back it was continually engaged, :banghead: I was heading out so as I was leaving my friends I tried but they must have closed at 5, not 5.30 like I thought. I'll ring first thing in the morning, :fingerscrossed: til then.

Got results. HCG levels have risen again. So will go for the u/s on Saturday morning followed by more bloods on Monday.
Been bleeding for a few days tho, which can't be good. To those of you who bled, was was it like? (Sorry TMI coming), mine has been a bit of brown blood, some red, but I've also had a few small chunks/clots, that's the bit that worries me the most. It's fairly light tho
The Dr said just to keep an eye on it, and if it gets heavy or if I have cramping to go to hosp.
:banghead: I am so over this. :hair:

my hubby says i was bleeding clots at the begining of my preg with my son. When they did an ultrasound they found a blood sack under the placenta bleeding.

M2P i am so sorry that this is dragging out so much. Are you HCG levels going up a lot, or just slightly? I havent had bleeding so cant answer your question there. But remain positive sweetie (if you can). I was just reading a bit of 'what to expect when your expecting' and believe them or not but they state that having a glass half full rather than half empty approach to pregnancy can make a difference (i dont know if i believe this myself, but no harm in trying i guess).
Big hugs sweetie:hugs:

How frustrating and annoying m2p. I bled with DD for about 4 days when I was about 4wks pregnant, but it was quite light. I actually thought it was just a light period, hence didn't find out I was pregnant until 8 weeks.
I don't really know what else to say, so here's a great big :hugs:
My (.)(.)'s aren't as sore today and I feel good, although felt a little bit of nausea this morning and am starting to feel tired but of course I'm now stressing thinking 'why aren't they so sore today, why aren't I feeling sick' . Hubby is driving me up the wall. I think he thinks that because I've been so tired HE should have nanna naps too. He's just annoying me in general at the moment. He's just about to take DD to Bunnings so she can grow her own flower, something she's wanted to do for awhile - think I've got a bit of a green thumb daughter!

Looks like I'm a May mummy too! I had a positive :bfp: this morning. According to my calculations last period started on August 13th, so I'm 8 weeks and due 19th May (according to the calculator).
Doctors appointment on Monday, this is my second. My daughter is 2, we're really hoping for a boy this time, all though we both come from all girl families so maybe the genes are against us!
I'm trying for a VBAC, and considering using a doula. The nausea started this week, this morning was the worst so far. It was pretty bad with my DD, she had a lot of hair, and I had constant indigestion. So far it's only hitting me in the morning I'm usually right by lunch.
Anyone else in S/E Melbourne? (sorry I'm slowly going through all the posts in this thread!)

I will be trying for a VBAC as well, but we'll see what happens. I had GD and High blood pressure with DD so time will tell. I'm in Melbourne, but not the SE suburbs, outer eastern suburbs here. I'm looking forward to chatting to you more over the coming months.

DD was just telling me how my tummy is so big & full looking because I've been eating too much. Perhaps, she said, you should do some exercise and get fit  . 'I can teach you mummy, you bend your knees, and squat and then lunge forward like this'. She then did a few lunges & squats  and wants us to go for a nice long walk tomorrow for some exercise to make me healthy and so my tummy doesn't get so big. How cute is that??
Emsmum - Your dd is just too precious. lol. She'll be so excited to know that mummy is gaining weight from not exercising but cause you are growing her a brother or sister! lol
Catalytic - Congrats and welcome!
Mum2peanut - OMG, i'm so sorry that things are so uncertain and confusing right now. I am hoping to hear good news on Sat and Monday, :)
I'm going well, having to go back to our house tomorrow night will be great, my own bed and my own house! Hooray! I am really excited. Plus we are probably going to need to do some mowing and cleaning since we haven't been there in a month!
Preg wise all is good, still feeling tired, but not too bad. Im almost 10 weeks. :) Very excited. Told my older bro today he was like, 'oh that's good'. He's funny though.

Forgive me V8 but why aren't you living at home (saves me scrolling through trying to find where you mentioned why you aren't living at home), and where are you staying? Didn't you recently move into a new house that you had built??
Hey Emsmum, you're so sweet for asking. Yeah we just moved into our own brand new house about 2 months ago but my parents have gone overseas for a month and needed me to take care of some jobs at their t-mart, so it's easier if we stay at their house and go into their work each day. Which is sucky cause we are sleeping on a mattress on the floor and i also have 2 exchange students for a few days to look after till they get back (they are good kids though so it's ok). But yeah, just wanna get back to my own damn house! lol (We used to live with my parents for 2 years here, so don't wanna spend any longer than i have to here! lol)

Thanks for explaining, hopefully you'll be back in your own house in no time. That must be inconvenient for you, specially having to sleep on a mattress on the floor. I can understand you wanting to spend as little time there as possible.

emsmum- Not sure when I'll have my scan, I see the doctor to confirm it all on Monday, so I assume I'll book in for a scan then...you usually need a referal don't you?
I forget how it all works, with my DD I was seeing a OB for other problems at the time, so I continued to see him for pre-natal, but it cost me too much in the end.
This time I'll just stick with my GP and probably have this one at Monash Clayton. I think having a doula might help me, I really wish I could have a home birth.
On another topic, emsmum, have you had any pain where your c-section scar is? I feel so bloated allready, DP joked maybe I'm having twins! :hair:
Two under the age of 5 is enough for me, and something I swore I didn't want, but fate had other plans as usual.

I haven't had pain where c-sect scar is, but it does get a little itchy  . Hi All,
It has been a good few weeks since I logged on last :( . I have just spent the last couple of hours trying to catch up on all the posts.
All is going well for us :smiliedance: . I will be 10 weeks tomorrow. I had my first u/s 1 week ago and all was really good (for those interested it cost me $151 and I only got $51 back from Medicare:thumbsdown: ). The heart beat was strong and bub was moving around a lot. Got a photo which I have been showing to close friends and family. I know it is still to soon but I am so excited and not good at keeping secrets.
I am blessed to have no signs of m/s or nausea. My (.)(.)'s are always sore and my blood pressure is low so I have been getting a few head spins. Mostly I just feel very tired, all the time. I have still been going to Curves but just taking it a little easier than usual.
We have our first appointment with our OB next week and I am looking forward to meeting her. I am also booked in for the nuchal translucency scan the week after (12 weeks). This scan is going to cost $240 and I am not sure how much Medicare will rebate. We are going private so I guess shelling out heaps of $$$ is something we will have to get use to?
I am heading off to bed now. I will make an effort to log in more regularly and keep up to date with how everyone is going.
Best wishes to all and sweet dreams.

Well it's fast approaching my EDD with the baby I lost earlier in the year, it's this Monday 15th actually so I plan on keeping busy and being pregnant again will help I think. My girlfriend was 2 weeks further ahead than me in our pregnancies and she had her son this morning, 8 pound, no name yet. :smiliedance: She was due on the 5th and I'm glad that he didn't arrive on my EDD.
lillybelle, see what happens when you don't log on regularly, you have hours worth of reading to do when you finally do log on :D Glad to hear that you've been well and have had no m/s. Scans etc are so expensive aren't they. My dating scan is $90 and I get $50 back so that's good, but then I'll be going through a public hospital so all future scans etc shouldn't cost me anything.
Well I'm not sure if I actually had some cramps during the night  , or if I dreamt it. I'm really hoping I dreamt it. :fingerscrossed: ! I haven't had any since I've been up, and feel a little nauseous (hungry) and my (.)(.)'s are a little sore to touch so I'm hoping that all is well!

Good Morning Girls!
V8 - hope you're enjoying being back in your own place, and haven't got too much cleaning to do!
catalytic - Welcome to our thread - it moves fast, so try and keep up if you dare!!!!
Lilybelle - Good to hear that you're going well - I'm very jealous that you don't have any m/s. I'm still feeling revolting most of the time.
Rachel87 - one of DH's friend and his wife are due to have their first bub just 3 days before us. DH keeps telling me to hurry things up so we have ours first - men are so competitive!
EmsMum - Take care of yourself on Monday. WE'll be thinking of you. I'm sure your gorgeous little girl will keep your mind off things. x
Well, MIL is visiting tomorrow for 4 days. She's so sweet - she emailed me earlier this week to tell me not to worry at all about taking care of her while she's here and that if there's any jobs needing to be done she'll happily help out. Is it overstepping the offer to get her to clean our ensuite!!! Only joking!
Hopefully I'll feel well enough to head out on the weekend - we were thinking of taking her to the Powerhouse museum to see the Princess Diana exhibition. We'll see.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day and enjoyable weekend.
Ciao!

Funny but I think the only person who doesn't know now is my DP's mother in NZ, I said let me have a few months of peace!
My little sister who is 8 didn't believe it when mum told her, now she's all excited and telling all her friends.
I'm looking into having a home birth, I need to speek to a midwife about price etc, but the more I think about it the more I like it, and DP seems ok with the idea. He wasn't there for the first one. Aparently as long as he has a few stiff drinks he'll be able to handle it, you can see why I'm thinking either a home birth or a doula may be a good idea!
He was absolutely useless last time, he stayed with my for 3 hours, and then went home to bed, leaving me all by myself until mum came in a couple of hours later. I wasn't impressed....
Thanks Emsmum, back home now, hooray! Its so nice to be back home. Can't wait till tomorrow when i can tell mum and dad. :) I'll also be 10 weeks by then too.
Today i feel strange have had a headache on and off all day, and i feel really queasy, also TMI but had the runs a few times and some really bad tummy cramps. Other than that, things are going ok.
How is everyone else?

Well I was up at 6am today because DH decided to harass me IYKWIM ;) from about 5.15am and I finally gave in just so he would leave me alone :banghead: . Afterwards I couldn't get back to sleep, so got up and had the tv all to myself - bliss, so watched a bit of cr@p on Foxtel, now it's 7.45am and I could easily go back to bed. Nanna nap for me today I think.
Kayangel, I'm a bit worried about you - we haven't heard from you for a few days and you usually come on most days? I hope you're ok. Maybe you're too sick to come online.
I hope that's the reason it's been so quiet in here lately, that you're all too busy :barf: . I've been a bit worried because my (.)(.) have stopped hurting and are now only sore if DD leans on them or if I poke my n!pples  (so stressed about having another missed miscarriage) but today I feel yukky again so that's good :D We still haven't told anyone about our baby, will announce it at my 35th birthday in December.
Off to do the grocery shopping soon. Hope to hear from you all later!

Hi everyone.
Emsmum i hope you handle monday okay. Are you going to do something special. I have till the end of Jan for my day and i hope to bake a cake or something and send happy thoughts up to my little angle. I think the fact that you are pregnant should ease the pain a little, not saying that it replaces it but you know what i mean. ALl the best!!
V8 - great that you are home again, that must be such a relief for you. Enjoy it!!
Cindye - it sounds like your mother in law is wonderful. I wish i had that. My mother in law is nice but she is the 'i dont want to interfere in your life type'. I have to beg them to even come to dinner.
Kayangel, i am worried about you too!!! Please pop on and tell us how you are going.
TO everyone else have a wonderful weekend.
I am going fine although m/s has got worse. VOmitted everything up yesterday, couldnt keep a thing down. usually after about 4pm i can keep stuff down. Consequently i woke up this am feeling so dehydrated. Have to go watch DH play tennis this arvo and think of an excuse to tell everyone why i am not playing???? Yuck, talk about m/s, I've been up at 4:30am the last 3 mornings, I can't last the night without needing to urinate already. Problem is as soon as I get up I need to p:barf:
I haven't been able to eat anything more than nibbles of food the the last few days either, it's really hit me hard, I got DP to get some sustagen so I can at least get something in me. I'm getting some tablets of the doctor on Monday. To me this is a slow form of torture, that and the constant dehydration and head ache. I feel yuck today obviously.
How's everyone else managing m/s? I hate ginger, but can't think of anything else that helps. Icypole sort of worked last time...

I had my first scan on Friday. It was supposed to be my NT scan but the receptionist booked me in too early! I am 10.5 weeks now (the Dr told me when they did the scan). The baby was flipping around alot and waving it's arms and legs around like it was break dancing!! :smiliedance:
Cost wise- I went the the women's and children's hospital in carlton. The NT scan costs $190 normally and there is no Medicare rebate. The receptionist did tell me that if my doctor had said I needed the scan because I was at risk that it could be bulk billed.
As it turned out, I was too early for my scan, so she just did a dating scan and that was bulk billed, I am booked in for my NT scan in 2 weeks, and that will cost me money.:shame:
The moral of the story is- get your scan's done at the Women's hospital in Carlton and it will be bulk billed! Hurray!!

Hi Girls,
Well the u/s was the same as the last two, no little emby in there. So they have called it a m/c. Hopefully go into hosp for D&C Tues or Wed after I see my Dr on Monday arvo.
Thank you once again to all of you for your support, esp over the last few wks.
I wish you all the best with your pregnancies and with your Magic May Babies.
Take care xoxo
Mum2peanut - I'm so very sorry. Will be thinking of you on Monday.
Emsmum - Will be thinking of you too.
I told my folks today. They came back from holidays with all these presents and i said to them, 'Me and Milo have a present for you too, but you can't have it till May.' Dad goes, 'cool it's a baby isn't it?' and mum was deaf and didn't hear me she was like, 'what, what present are we getting?' and i go to her, 'I'm pregnant!' And she goes oh good, i already knew that. (She is a tad psychic). She said to me later i knew you were pregnant and was wondering why you weren't telling us. I dobbed my sister in and said that she wanted me to wait to tell you, and they said, well that's silly, you could have told us. But dad was like, it's ok you never know if something went wrong. So i think they are happy. :) And then DH told his parents tonight, so phew they know now we can tell whoever else we want. :smiliedance:
I feel like so huge already! It's crazy! Feeling better, still needing a nanna nap though!
Hope everyone else is good.

katiemaree, glad to hear your scan went well
m2p, i'm so sorry honey :hugs: all the best for the d&c, it's so unfair!
V8, that's awesome that you told your parents and pretty freaky that your mum already knew  I find it really hard to get to sleep at night if I have a nanna nap, so am trying not to have one but if I do it's only about 20-30 mins.
Bel 1978, I hope Sienna has a lovely day today and you enjoy the cheese fries & potato skins at Lone Star (I love their warm brownie with ice cream & hot chocolate fudge) mmmm, I'm so hungry right now. :banghead:
catalytic, sorry to hear you've had morning sickness and ttcin i'm sorry yours hasn't eased up any! I haven't really had any, well no vomiting any way. If I feel nauseous I eat something and that usually makes me feel better, although there are certain things I can't really eat at the moment including sausages (went to cook them last night and wanted to vomit and then couldn't eat them when they were cooked so just had a bowl of vegies), and eggs :barf: . I also sip water when I don't feel the best and that seems to make me feel better. Hope you're both feeling better soon.
My DH has ridden down to the Moto GP at Philip Island so DD and I are having a lazy day, might go to the park this arvo. We have swimming lessons and are going to my aunties for lunch tomorrow, which is my EDD for the baby I miscarried, we might light a candle and bake some brownies in memory of the baby too. It definately does help being pregnant again.
Hi to everyone else, we still haven't heard from kayangel have we? Has anyone seen her around? If you do, please ask her to pop her head in here so we know that she's ok!
Bel - That's great Sienna slept till 6am. And hope her christening is just lovely. Lone star sounds yummo!!
Emsmum - That sounds nice to light a candle and bake some brownies for your little angel baby. I'm also with you on the nanna naps, i really shouldn't have as i end up staying up so late and find it hard to fall asleep. Doesn't help when DH falls asleep pretty much as soon as his head hits the pillow and snores! I think i'll be kicking him out of the bed soon, lol!

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I've been MIA. I've been so sick. :barf:about 3x per day and feeling nauseous the rest of the time. I went and saw my immunologist on Friday and he prescribed pyridoxine (Vit B) and it has made me feel soo much better. Almost normal :smiliedance:. I thought it wouldn't work, because Maxalon didn't work. But I'm so happy it is working!!
At the moment, I'm getting so worried that things are going well. Not that I have any real problems. It is just that my tummy isnt' getting that much bigger and I'm sure with my DD my tummy was bigger by now. Anyway, just counting down the days until my scan.

We have swimming lessons and are going to my aunties for lunch tomorrow, which is my EDD for the baby I miscarried, we might light a candle and bake some brownies in memory of the baby too. It definately does help being pregnant again.
I hope you have a good day tomorrow!! Your idea definitely sounds lovely. Let us know how it goes :hugs:

Not just you sweetie, i dont know what has happened to the tickers??? They have been like that for a couple of days.
Emsmum - hope you have a lovely day today, big :hugs: .
I am soooooo angry. My m/s is getting so much worse. This AM i have already vomitted X6 and feel so yucky. When i was in adelaide last mon i ordered zofran a strong m/s tablet from chemist who had to get it in and promised to express post it to me later that day. Well still dont have it and i just rang them 'oh sorry it is still sitting here'. So now i am a mess as i feel there is no hope. Love my baby but getting very depressed with this m/s as i cant do anything as i feel so sick and the house work is piling up and i dont go out much and i cant eat!!!!! I know you girls understand because a lot of you are going through it too. :hugs: to all of us!!

Don't worry ttcin I know how you feel, the house is a mess, my DD had chicken in a biskits for lunch the other day cos mummy couldn't bear the sight of food.
Supringly I've been feeling ok for the last two days, but I've been tired instead. Doctor's app at 3, I bet he'll make me take another test, I think I need some blood tests too. I have indoor cats so I'm a bit worried about toxoplasmosis, as I'm the only one who changes the litter.
Emsmum, I hope you had a lovely day yesterday anyway :)

Hi guys!
Haven't been around as I was helping MIL out all weekend at the Home Show(they are carpet cleaners). So tired and don't want to do anything but the house looks like a war zone haha.
Preg wise things are coming along nicely :)
I have an urge..... I want to do home renovations lol I want to do so much to our house but I have a few problems. 1) We don't own the house (the in-laws do though, so all we need is clearance from them) 2) We don't have ANY money that we could use and can't even get a loan and well that's pretty much the only thing stopping us. In-laws have said if we want to raise and re stump then build in under the house we can as long as we pay for it ourselves (I have a feeling the house will be a wedding gift to us whenever we tie the knot).
*sigh* So much I want right now but I feel like I can't do anything (mostly because I can't haha)

I'm a little bit frustrated at the moment. Just got back from my GP, who obviously isn't interested in seeing me. I mentioned I wanted to have a home birth, he didn't see any problems with that, but they again he didn't say much at all.
Just gave me a referal to Monash Ante-natal clinic, which suprise suprise is only open Mon-Thurs 9-3pm, they don't even take messages.
I didn't even get a prescription for m/s tablets, I am so damn annoyed about that! I told him I'm out of stemazine, and have constant nausea where I can't eat. And he offered me nothing....WTF?? My fault in part as I was concerned with asking so many other questions I forgot to insist on a prescription.
On the other hand I'm nearly in tears because I feel like my parrtner is being so unsupportive. I ended up being late to my appointment today and had to walk to my appointment today, after I specificaly asked him to let me know if he was not going to be home on time. I try and talk to him about arranging a midwife and sorting out funds, all I get it "don't bother me with this now". The worst thing is it was his idea to try for a second child, now I'm excited about it and he isn't. I feel like going to my mums I'm so annoyed at him right now.:hair: :hair:
Sorry for the rant, I am just so frustrated by my lack of options in having this baby, I don't think I will get the birth I want. My opinion of Monash so far hasn't been good, I'll see what is said at the ante natal visit, but I don't think I'll be going there unless it's an emergency. In fact I don't even want to see them for ante natal appointments, as my GP isn't interested what options do I have? Can midwives provide these ante natal visists? Sorry if that's a dumb question.

catalytic- Thats so wrong about your partner.. it takes 2 parents to make a baby.......
Catalytic - you absolutely have choices hun, and most midwives do ante-natal care aswell. It does cost extra obviously, but it's worth it for the reassurance. Have you checked out the homebirth section here at Bubhub? Also there is a section for midwives and doulas, and also there is a site called HMA, home midwife association they have midwives and doulas there you can contact. :) I am really excited about homebirth. :) I have just contacted a backup student midwife who i have met before and she is just lovely, so hopefully we can arrange to have her here for the birth aswell. I'm so excited about it!

Hi everyone
I feel very strange about this pregnancy, i havent been very sick, dont usually get really sick but usually feel pretty nauseous all day. This time i feel fine, im not complaining mind you, just feel diferent about this pregnancy. Maybe its a boy, thats why its different. If i didnt get the two lines on the test and the fact that AF hasnt shown up i wouldnt even think im pregnant. Im very tired though, so that is one symptom.

ttcin & catalytic, thanks for thinking of me today :hugs: . I woke up this morning and thought 'I should have been giving birth today' but then remembered everything I do have (great hubby, wonderful daughter, roof over my head, food in my belly, awesome friends/family, nice car etc., new life growing inside me) and realised how lucky I actually am. I've actually had a great day, took DD to swimming lessons this morning and spent the afternoon at my aunties/uncles house reminising about my dad and finding out a heap of stuff about him and my mum that I didn't know, which will be great for the journal I've been doing for DD since I was pregnant with her  . So I actually feel very happy today, very hopeful about the future and positive that all will be fine with this baby.
I felt awful this morning, (.)(.)'s are sore again and so, so tired. I don't think I'll be able to hide it much longer, DH is a bit worried that I'm having twins because it feels like I've grown so much overnight, I feel absolutely huge today.
catalytic, I don't know much about home birth so can't answer your questions, sorry hun! You sound very frustrated and I'm sorry to hear how unsupportive your DH is being. I think because it's not happening inside their body they don't think they have to worry about anything. I hope you get things sorted out and give hubby a good kick up the you know what!
How is everyone else?? We are having fish fingers with mash, steamed vegies & peas for dinner because the pork chops I defrosted smelt very off, so had to resort to quick & easy fish fingers!
Whoever asked about the tickers, you need to re-do them because they've made changes to them now and there's something that slides along the ticker each day you get closer to your milestone, so just re-do them.
Ciao for now!

Never mind, I got my ticker working!
I think I'm over sensitive to things at the moment, DP says he just needs time to get used to it again. I'm just frustrated because I feel like I'm not doing enough around the house, I study fulltime and have not touched my books in the last week. It doesn't help being stressed about money etc either. I have to mentallly slap myself today and force myself to get at least a small amount of housework done and some serious study finnished. It shouldn't be this hard!

hi ladies
just dropping in to say heard babies heart beat today :) my doctor said it sounds very good so im so happy :)
i have booked in for the 9th of november for my 12 scan and its only costing $150 so im happy with that its cheaper then i thought it would be.
:babydust2: :wizard: :babydust2:
Hey Catalytic, i am also really not wanting to study i've had no motivation this semester at all. Thankfully i only have one more assessment item then i can relax. Nearly failed a subject as i didn't submit a 5000 word assignment, but the lecturer gave me special consideration cause i'm pregnant - i was so surprised! So yeah ended up passing the unit by making the exam a higher weighted assessment.
Anyone else had their 12 week scan yet?
I haven't and not sure if i will, sometimes i would like to to make sure all is well, other times i don't want to as i'd like to have a mostly hands off pregnancy and birth. I am feeling pretty good most of the time. :)

Hi everyone,
V8 - i dont know how you stay so calm, i would die without the confimation of a scan, you are one brave woman!!
Zera 06 - yay on hearing the heartbeat, isnt it a good feeling. Not long for your 12 week scan now.
catalytic - dont worry i am sooooo over sensetive at the moment too, and stuff the housework!! I guess the priority will be to keep on top of that study. See if you can get some extensions or defered exams a doctors cert should do it, they cant argue with that.
Emsmum - glad you had a great day yesterday!! Nothing wrong with fish fingers i say :)
Hi to everyone else, i hope you are all doing well.
Now please someone answer me as i am very stressed. I have never had bleeding before in any pregnancy. But this am when i went to the toilet there was a tiny bit of old looking brown blood on the paper, only the size of maybe 3 grains of rice. Do i need to call my ob, is this bad, is it normal??? Please some advice girls.

I'm no doctor, but I would keep an eye on it before calling your ob. It was only a very small amount and you haven't had any since?? If you get anymore I'd be going to see your ob, or if you get any cramping. Bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common, I hope you don't get any more! :hugs:

Thanks Emsmum,
Yep havent had anymore bleeding and no cramps so :fingerscrossed: !!! Just dont want any stesses this time, i know you know what i mean.
I seriously am wondering what has happened to Kayangle??? It must be over a week since we have heard from her? I think i will PM her.

I never had bleeding during pregnancy, but once I did feel some fluid escaping, another time I had cramps. Both times I called my OB straight away, and he told me to go to hospital. Looking back I was probably being paranoid and the trip to hospital wasn't really needed, but my OB always said it's better safe than sorry.
On the other hand there's no point stressing unless you are having cramps as well, or unless you 'feel' that something isn't right.
I'm trying not to worry about things that may or may not be wrong this time. At this stage it doesn't look like I'll even be having a 12 week scan, unless I can sort out who is caring for me for ante-natal. I'll probably have the 20 week scan, mainly to know the sex. I think I had too many tests last time, that just stressed me out in the end waiting for the results. All though I would want to know if my child had a serious defect....just to be prepared.
I called Monash, they wont take me due to zoning. I'm 30 minutes away from the hospital that will take me. I'm not happy, so far it's been hard to get in touch with a midwife I'm starting to :banghead: in frustration. At least DP supports my choice in having a home birth. I've gone through all the sites and the MIPP list for Vic, there really is a limited choice in Midwifes. Does anyone know any Midwifes in Melbourne, that they could either recommend or not recommend via pm?

Yep, I know exactly what you mean ttcin  you'll be fine hun, try not to stress!
I am also very worried about kayangel. She hasn't posted anywhere on BubHub since the 10th, and that's not like her. I'm hoping that her morning sickness is just so bad that it's keeping her away from the computer, and that nothing has happened to her or the baby.

Just guessing...but there was some pretty vicious things aimed in her direction (for no real reason) in another thread she replied to (hence me tending to stick in my Aug and now this group)...am wondering if she just thought stuff this and has walked away for a while :fingerscrossed: that's all it is

Hi girls,
Thanks everyone for your replies still no more bleeding or any cramps at more so i will just relax for now. have ob appointment end of next week, thanks for your advice though, it means so much to have you all.
amandaw, that is no good about what has happened in another thread to kayangle, i had no idea. Thanks for filling us in. Well i have PM her now and told her we are worried and all miss her so hopefully she will be okay and come back when she is ready.
i have no idea what thread you are talking about, and dont want to know but i thought the moderators would stop posts if people were not nice????? Anyway hope all is okay for her.
Catalytic, i am sorry you are having trouble organising your care. Have you spoken to V8, she seems to know a lot about home birth stuff. Sorry but i dont know any midwifes, have you contacted the nurses board in vic, i dont really know but hopefully someone there should be able to point you in the right dirrection. Otherwise maybe if you find a friendly GP in your area they would have a list. Or you could ring up and speak to lots of receptionests at GP's near you and ask if they have a list. Sorry if i am not very helpful, i understand your frustration. have you done a post on this issue in the homebirth section??? Good luck sweetie.
Oh and if you are wondering the reason i am not going sraight to hospital with my concern is below.
1. closest hospital 65km away i am a nurse at and went last time i was preg and the whole town found out.
2. next closest is 200km away, also went there with last preg and my ob was horrified at the treatment i got and told me not to go there again.
3. My ob is 600km away so will go if needed but only if something is definately wrong.
I hope that makes sense:)

LOL that makes perfect sense! I thought I was in a bad position, thanks I now feel much better about my situation!
I spoke to Joy Johnston earlier, she was very helpful and I'm hoping to get in touch with Jan Ireland sometime this week. Both are close to me, so I'd say at this stage it will be one or the other. Now I just have to worry about getting money sorted.
On another note, my partner wants me to get rid of my two indoor cats, he doesn't want to compromise. I feel strongly about my cats and DO NOT want to re-home them, how on earth do you make a stubborn man see reason??
katiemaree
16-10-2007, 05:04 PM
Cats..... yeah. We have one indoor cat who sleeps on my feet every night. Hubby is concerned about the germs, and thinks we need to start training the cat now to not be on our bed. I said it is not a problem, but I do feel a little cautious about being too cuddly and paying too much attention the the cat now in case he gets a bit jealous when the baby comes along.
Perhaps you and hubby need to sit down and have a calm talk about why he wants to get rid of them and perhaps some kind of compromise?
As for Kayangel, I can't believe there are people out there saying nasty things on forums for PREGNANT WOMEN!! Jeepers, what happened to supporting the sisterhood?! All I can imagine is that there were some seriously out of control hormones raging.... poor dear. She should just come back to this thread where all the ladies are ladies!
ttcin2007- thanks for telling us your situation. I'd actually like to hear about everyone's situation!
Mine is this, I am a music director at a high school in the east. It is a high pressure job and I am currently stressed about telling them my news (my contract ends this December and they have said I will be offered a new one most definitely... but will they change their minds with my news?).
The job thing is hard. I wish I worked in a regular office where if I was feeling sick I could go to the loo and puke, or toilet, or just have a little rest. As it is, I can puke and pee only at recess and very quickly between classes!! It also takes me an hour to drive to school and I find car travel makes me so nauseous at the moment. I get to school and have to go puke straight away!!
Lucky for me, I live a 5 min walk from the Mercy Women's Hospital, so going to t
