Just to reasure you too first time pregnancy body image problems are very very normal :hugs: , its weird seeing your body change in a way it never has before, i really struggled with my first cause i couldnt see my self as pregnant but just more as fat which is completely silly, when I look back on the photos now i dont hink i look any different to any other pregnant lady. So i guess what I am trying to say learn to love what you see in the mirror honey cause we all see a beautiful pregnant lady and you should too xoxoxoxoxo

Kristi - Thanks, i will post another picture on the weekend of me in the morning. I find when i look down at my belly i feel huge but when i look in the mirror i don't look as big if that makes sense. I do feel more fat then i do pregnant!

It doesn't help that 3 people have commented on how big i am already!

Oh you think Kristi??? It's hard, I feel really big and people are telling me that I'm really big already!! I'm normally quite a bit thinner too I guess so people are seeing me that bit 'fatter'!!! Yay!! My computer is finally back up and running, so
here's a few shots from my 18 week ultrasound. Two are 3D ones. He wouldn't look at the camera, so they are from the back and can only see the side of his face. The other one is of his little legs.

YM3...why thank you for noticing..I am smaller yes :D ....my bloating has finally gone away and my real bump is now all that shows instead of the fluid aswell plus with the MS I had I have lost about 10 kg's since I first fell pregnant..:o ...not the ideal way and time to do it but I was carrying a bit extra from DD anyway :laughing: !!!!

Oh BG, you just make me laugh!! KristyD I'm with you too, people keep saying 'oh how far' I answer to which reply I get is 'Gee your big aren't you?' I just turn around and say 'yeah well it's only going to get bigger'!! Look, sometimes I feel a bit sensitive about it but I'm now like, well I'm pregnant and we all carry differently so deal with it, I am!! Some people that are much smaller than me have had quite significantly bigger babies, so who gives two bloody hoots how big we are or small, as long as we are keeping healthy and the baby is healthy, what more can we ask for!!

Dragonfly - I don't know a lot about the tummy separation thing, apart from your abdominal muscles separate, usually during a previous pregnancy. I don't think it's harmful unless it get really far apart. QTB knows a lot more about it and has posted some pics of her separation bump in here somewhere.

on the tummy seperation thing... in our main thread about 20 pages ago we had big chats about it... :D
basically its your tummy muscles seperating to make room for bubs... its completely normal and about 10% of preg women get it... its only a problem if its painful, or doesnt close after bubs is born...

You don't look like a Whale at all Kristy. by people touching your tummy, just try and think 'hey, they love and are amazed at what's growing in here'!! Sometimes it just gets you through! I have no problem with people I KNOW touching my belly, it's people at work that I don't really know, only through seeing them by face that I think, EEwww......personal space here!! You look fantastic and I'm sure your DH tells you always!! Milk it girlfriend, you're very lucky to be preggers!!

Hi girls, I had my scan today, everything was fine, my placenta is at the front of my tummy but otherwise all is well..
We didnt find out what we are having, we never wanted to but while we were there it did cross our minds.

QTB..before i even got up on the ultra sound table I told the lady who did my scan that I deffinately didnt want to know, she was wonderful and would freeze the screen I was looking at on baby's face when she ventured down below so I wouldnt be able to tell..eveidently mine was very clear and obvious..I have looked over all my scans and even the ones she did for doctor are done in cross sections so that nothing could be given away...I am thinking they will have to be even more careful when I got back at 32 weeks:laughing: !!!

YM3 - Thanks hun you have made me feel better... I was telling one of the guys at work the other day what these girls said he was gob smacked, i said hello i have gone up a size in tops for work and i am still the same size bottoms rather then folding my pants at the waist i am harry high pants instead... He told me i should tell everyone i am becoming a sumo wrestler LOL... So thats our joke now! I'm finding it heaps hard with the touching of the belly another reason i hate it is cause when i had my eptopic i had a laproscoptomy and i can't stand touching the scars myself let alone someone else...

QTB - They sure did, cheeky little monkey... Little MR's legs were closed right up until the last 5mins we asked to check once more and found out... Maybe your bubs might have the legs closed

KristyD..I completly understand honey..do you know what I do when some one I dont feel comfortable with touches my belly...I RUB THEIR's BACK :laughing: ...I kid you not, works a treat you find less and less people will wanna touch your bump if they think they are going to get a belly rub in return, or I take a step back so I am out of reach...dont be affaird to speak up and tell people you dont like it sweet pea cause the earlier you nip it in the butt the better cause the bigger your bump gets the more inviting it will look.

YM3...:laughing: I did it too this tradie bloke the other day he thought it was histerical, it worked though no one else in the room tried to feel my bump :laughing: !!! As for your movement question..my DD was a very lazy mover and groover and even when she did move it was quiet gentle until she got right up under my ribs..this bubba is far more active.

Girls i'm feeling a bit hows it going i sent back my doppler yesterday and now i am a little paranoid. I didn't have quite as much movement yesterday and i had a fair bit of paing through the day. I haven't really had much movement this morning either. I am going back to the doctors tomorrow morning to ask about these pains but i'm a little worried as well

Kristy, I think at this stage its normal not to feel movement too reguarly because bub is still quite small. Once they get bigger than using the movement record to make sure bub is OK is a bit more accurate.

My GP said I am "measuring" perfectly :) which was really good to hear!

I never knew about this, so if there are others like me out there this is how it works....
Apparently when you are lying down on your back you measure from your pubic bone up to your belly button...it is suppose to equal 1cm to each week your are pregnant.

Eg. At 20weeks I was 20cm :thumbsup:

mines measuring 22 weeks (at 18weeks) but my dates are bang on... so its not always reliable, but generally it is :)

The other part to this story is that DH got called away for work on Monday to Melbourne so missed out on being there for the scan:( but he was adamant that he didn't want to know the sex until he got home (which is this afternoon). So I came up with a nice little suprise, his very own lucky dip!! I've filled a bag with lots of blue baby stuff for him to stick his hand in and get his own suprise! Anyway I've attached a couple of pics of it for you.

Here is me at 20 weeks! I'm realising, not how big I am but how low I definately carry compared to most of you! I've carried low for all my pregnancies and I have quite good stomach muscles but just shows that's just how I carry! Looks saggy compared to all of you!! LOL

Oh, and the front on shot, they are the love handle/hips that I was talking about a week or so back!! Yep, perfect pregnancy hips I call them, hold the baby well!! LOL

KrsityH - You are looking so good. You don't seem to be getting much bigger, maybe just a bit higher that's all! You with NO hips!! lol
