Not all babies bring up wind - some don't need burping so maybe she is one of them.

They say that burping is not necessary and it's more a traditional thing than medical.
If she seems distressed about it, what you can do is lay her on her tummy and pat her back that way. It adds a little bit of pressure on her tummy and will hopefully bring up the wind.
I also sit DD on my knee and just gently rock her back and forth.
You could give those a try?
Good luck!

lying bubs down on their back and 'walking' and cycling the legs helps around here. we keep her head higher than her tum using a boomerang pillow to minimise spit up coming up with the wind. singing while doing the leg thang makes it a fun game for bubba too and relaxes them and eases their upset as well.

Try get her to relax.. bubs can't get it out when they are tense and uptight and upset.
I used to hold Ebony in a football style hold but so my arm rests against the side of her taking all pressure off her tummy.
Gently tilting her back and forth also helped to get it to budge.
talliistheword- I hear you there hun, some things i try are:
Warm bath
Walking with bub over shoulder
Carrying bub face down along your arm- kinda like they are wrapping thier arms and legs around your arm and then you can pat back. (sorry if this makes no sense, its hard to describe LOL!)
Laying bub across my knees and patting back.
Cooled, boiled water
Cycling thier legs
Baby massage
Good Luck hun, its a trying time but it does go away. Bailey had the wind/colic issues til around 8-9 weeks I think.
I have the same problem and now spend up to an hour trying to burp after a feed!
I bought the DUNSTAN dvd which helps you identify babies cries and that has some good ideas on burping babies. Once its gone to the lower abdomen you need to stop with the back patting and try the other options. (over the knees, massage their tummy etc) they need to pass it out the other end!
i have found that if i dont get some sort of burp after each feed, i will pay for it later, usually in the middle of the night!! I need to be pretty rough to get the burp up! Backwards and forwards sitting on my knee, firm back patting and rubbing!! MOST TIMES IT WORKS BUT who can be bothered during the night feeds!! I AM STILL SUFFERING WITH THE WIND but after watching the dvd and really trying to burp her, things are 10 times better during the day at least and now i have stoped feeding her everytime she cries as that just made the wind worse!
Good luck!
p.s ebay good for d.v.d.
