Im 28 weeks pregnant at the moment and we popped in to see DH's grandmother and Aunty yesterday. We had been told earlier that Dh's aunty has shingles but we completely forgot until after we had been there. She said that she was told by the doctor that she was not contagious after 72 hours but now I cant get the thought out of my head that maybe DD (17 mths) or me and bubs have been affected in some way. I dont know the symptoms of shingles or anything like that and thought I would ask on here before googling as I know I will stress myself out.
I have symptoms of a cold coming on and have just been having general aches and pains, out of breath today but that is because bubs has moved up under my ribs so I dont think that has anything to do with it.
Can anyone shed some light on the contagious period with shingles and if it is longer with pregnant women or toddlers? If I am still stressing tomorrow I will head off to the doctor to double check just in case
