So... does your child have a fringe or not?

Are you intending on getting a fringe if you haven't gotten one, or are looking at growing it out if you have?

Why have you chosen either way?

Yes - a stupid topic... I was just thinking about DD's hair... she had a fringe cut in because her hair was always in her eyes and she'd pull out any ties or clips....

Now I hate the blasted thing and think she looks better without it so we're growing it out (it's easy enough now that she's happy to wear clips and ties).

I had a fringe when I was young and I swore that I would never get one again! I did a few weeks ago and I regret it SO much!

They are ugly... :barf:

I would never do it to my children either!

ETA: They look fab on some people but just aren't for me!!

If I am ever lucky enough to have a little girl she will definitely have a fringe. I think they are just so gosh-darn cute I can't resist. A fringe and pigtails and every hair accessory known to mankind. And stripey tights on her legs. And fairy dresses.

cluck cluck cluck.

My niece didn't have a fringe and I used to say to her mother all the time "she would look so cute with a fringe". One day my niece overheard me and she cut her own hair, ha ha ha ha ha ha, she cut a fringe for herself, she was 4.

It did look very cute. I was so happy, bwahahahaha, I know, its none of my business, but she's my favourite, so there :p

OMG I was just speaking to a friend about this yesterday. How canny is that!

My ex MIL cut my DD1's hair a few weeks ago and it looks dreadful, I hate it, and she has gorgeous hair but now it looks like total cr@p. See here (http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j275/KarniF00l/grouppic003.jpg) you'll know what I mean.

We're trying to grow it back out again

My DD has a fringe and she looks fantastic! She was a flowergirl for a wedding last year and they created an updo and pinned all her fringe back and it looked terrible. She still looked gorgeous .... but the lack of fringe just wasn't her .... she needs a fringe as she has a high forehead.

Gorgeous pic by the way! :D

Thanks. I wasn't a very happy camper when she brought DD1 home, and she didn't ask me if it was okay to cut it which makes it even worse :shame: Bloodly MILS!

I would love DD1 to have no fringe - but after 3 months of growing it out we have just given up and gone back to a fringe as I can't stand the arguments at hair brushing/putting up time.
so for us it will have to wait until she is older :(
DD2 has a fringe too as she refuses to wear clips - loves putting them in, but then promptly pulls them out :( very annoying when I have a container full of hair accessories (there's so many cute hand made ones on ebay!!!)

oh and shed - my girls wear fairy dresses and stripey tights most days!! just got to work on the hair now!

I think it really depends on the face shape, some people suit fringes some dont...

Maybe we should walk up to our MILS with a pair of scissors in our hand and hack at their hair.

I'm not a fan of fringes. None of my girls have one and I don't either. They look dorky. :p

DD had a fringe cut in because she too had hair in her eyes, and hated getting her hair done.

I wasn't happy with the way the hairdresser cut it, so its grown out, and she now doesn't fuss too much when getting her hair done.

Shed - I think little girls look really cute with fringes... but DD just doesn't.

I had a fringe as a little girl... I also had dead-straight shiny hair and a bob... and I looked super cute!

DD, however, has this curly hair... well, it's curly most of the time, and curly at the bottom mostly. She just looks kinda d*cky with a fringe... I always said my daughter would have a hair cut like mine (the bob with a fringe) because it's super cute... but she just looks not-so-great with one.

DD is now 6  and I have not long given away the idea of a fringe with her. She has a cow's lick right on her hair line at the front, so her fringe won't sit straight. I still have a good chance of a fringe with my other DD :devil6: .

In the recovery room after having DD my husband announced she was not going to have a fringe! I didn't know he felt that strongly about it:confused:

Needless to say DD has no fringe but having lots of hair she never has pulled out clips/bands etc so I guess we are just lucky in that respect otherwise she may well have one as I HATE hair in kids eyes:o

DD had a fringe until just before xmas when we decided to grow it out. She has curly hair and her fringe never sat straight. 9mths on we are still growing it out.

My son has curls, but his curls hang in his eyes, so I was considering fgetting those cut shorter sightly so they remain out of his face....

But not too sure, as I dont want him to have a hair cut yet..His hair is past his shoulders when wet, but when dry sits quite high up....

My DD does not have a fringe. She has hair just below her shoulders and ringlets from about 3/4 of the way down to the bottom. She is just too cute sometimes.
