My 7 week old daughter has reflux and i would like to try the karicare thickner however, with the newborn teat nothing comes out because the forumla is too thick!
The instructions on the back say to use a medium to fast flow cross cut teat but we've got Avent bottles and none of the teats were cross cut....i bought the fast flow Avent teat but it just looks like theres 4 small holes the same size as the newborn teat.
Before i open and use it, does anyone know if the Avent fast flow teat works with the use of the forumla thickner by any chance????
Cheers heaps!

I've had to add thickener to my little man's formula and I changed to a Tommee Tippee bottle/teat .... the teat has a X opening, instead of just a hole .... the harder they suck the more they get and the thicker formula has no problems coming out.
Sorry I can't help with the Avent ......

with the tommee tippee bottle and teat...which size teat did you get to work with the thickner? my daughter is only 7 weeks old so im worried i'll get a teat too big for her and she'll choke on the milk!

The teat is the same size as the Avent ones I have. I only had flow 1 and 2 for Avent and the Tommee Tippee is the same size.
Edit to add: The X opening teat only comes in one size (as far as I've seen) .... so you should be ok. Not all the Tommee Tippee bottles/teats have this style of opening .... open the bottles and squeeze the teat to make sure it's the right one. This style is supposed to suit from birth cause they determine the flow by how hard they suck on it.

my son had bad reflux and i used karicare from 3 weeks and used the fast flow advent so yes they do work it might take them slightly longer to drink though.

i was at big w when i bought the avent fast flow teat (6mths +) and couldn't find the X teat. Maybe i'll have to return it and go somewhere else to find it.
kristyNluke...was your fast flow teat the one with 4 holes or the X one? I've got the 4 holes teat so wondering if i'll need to return that one??
