Hey gals,

I have been meaning to ask this but have chickened out so many times :o . Today I thought what the hell, I will just ask.

We are TTC for a baby and I hear about all these theories about putting your legs up in the air after BD etc... I gave up on the legs in the air thing but I do make sure I lie down for at least half an hour after we BD to give the spermies a good chance at getting up there.

But my question is...We still seem to get a lot that leaks out. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience leaking? Even though it leaks out, do some spermies still go on their travels up into the tubes?

Sorry if this was TMI, I just need to know as it is always worrying me. Just another thing really.

Thanks in advance.

Love Bree

I think we have all done the legs in the air thing. I dont think it makes any difference to he honest. There are so many sperm that go in there it is normal for some to come out. The sperm that get shot out at the opening of the cervix are the ones who will make it up there and they are so far in that they wil not fall out.

So dont worry. You are still getting some where they should be.:smiliedance:

I agree - with DS1 we did the whole legs in the air thing but I'm not sure if it contributed. This pregnancy we didn't do that, and it took the same amount of time for me to fall in.

So to answer your question, yes, a lot still comes out, but no, I don't think it makes any difference

I agree with the others that have answered you. I lie on my back for half and hour and still have a lot come out. I think this is normal.

Good luck!!

yip totally normal for some to leak out chicky, most of the stuff that leaks out is your stuff to iykwim, so probably only half of it if that would be the swimmers :D

lol ive never put my legs in the air....i usually duck outside for a smoke...not that im advising that.... but my theory is a very simple one.... you have to orgasm when or after your partner has cum... when you orgasm, your cervix is more likely to be coated and take sperm inside you, due to your muscles trembling..... and hey if it doesnt work, you'll be happy anyway:D

What comes out is mainly the fluid the sperm are carried in and most do get inside.
For women who have a lot of trouble conceiving maybe cause DH has lazy/low count sperm then having sex in certain positions where deposit is made as close to cervix as possible (tmi but doggystyle with womans head down on pillow is one) , then holding/raising hips in air afterwards can be extremely beneficial.

As BJ said the orgasm can be a huge contributor too. Sorry again tmi but if the woman can manage to orgasm before male then cervix will be pulling inwards and again work more efficiently.

I read that if you lie down for 20 mins after, the only stuff that comes out is semen and the sperm that were no good! it still feels like it's been all in vain though when you see it all fall out!

Thanks all you lovely ladies for your replies. I feel better now that I know. And with the orgasm, I have heard that too but I also heard that orgasm after DH has can be good as well. Any orgasm is good as far as I am concerned. Lucky for me!!!

Thanks again :hugs:

I'm a mum of 9 and i can always tell when i have conceived, i would be trying to keep as much sperm inside as possilble, you might get twins.:D:D
