Has anyone used Helen Clarke? I'm trying to find an ob with 'no gap' and she came up but I can't find much feedback about her...

YES - YES - YES - i used her and LOVED her - she is very straight down the line - no sugar coating anything, and for a woos like me that part was hard, but she is considered VERY good, and she managed to deliver my boy naturally in a difficult labour (due to small pelvis which we didnt know at the time).
She noticed i didnt have a very good support network apart from my husband, and sent me to the Raphael centre at SJOGH Subi, for support classes pre birth.
she is expensive - but worth every penny plus more.

I had HC for both my boys and agree with Firsttimer that she's very straight down the line and honest. I had a c-section the first tiem and wanted to try naturally second time around, which she wasn't very supportive of... and I've talked to loads of people who ended up having caesers with her, so it was encouraging to hear that Firsttimer had a successful natural birth.

I have heard some good things about Helen Clarke, but just to 'confuse' you even more have you thought about Dr Micahel Gannon?
I'm currently seeing him, and he delivers out of both SJOG Subi and Mercy in Mt Lawley. He is fantastic! I feel absolutely comfortable with him, and never feel silly or stupid about asking any question that I may have. And his midwife and receptionist are both lovely ladies.
In regards to the 'no gap' for the delivery fee, you need to check specifically with your obs which private health care provider plan they participate in. eg. Dr Gannon is a no gap obs for HBF patients but there is a small gap for Medibank Private patients. You can always approach your private health fund and ask for a list of which obs are no gap (that's what I did). Anyway, just something else to be aware of...
