Hi
Having relocated from New Zealand to Perth within the last month with my husband, daughter (5) and son (8 months), I am seriously looking at going back to work fulltime for financial reasons. My problem is that I cannot find any family day care that can take an 8 month old baby (as I haven't been on any waitlists)and I cannot afford to pay $600 a fortnight for childcare services. I desperately would not go back to work if I had any option. Could anyone please provide any ideas on child care help i.e. Shared Nannies, cheap (but excellent quality) daycare etc in Perth as I do not have any friend networks to ask for help. I know we will eventually settle in well here in this beautiful city, but not having any friends and constantly feeling guilty about leaving my beautiful son with a stranger causes tears. Please help me:( thank you
I am really sorry that I cannot offer you any suggestions as far as daycare etc goes, but I can tell you that there is a mummy meet (bring kids too) this Thursday at Kings Park from 2.30 onwards. I am not quite sure where exactly but I will let you know if you are interested?? This way you can meet some other mums and make friends and possibly get a solution to your problem??
Hope this helps and hope to see you on Thursday!
- Brooke :)

Thankyou Brooke for the welcome to your mummy club. Its really appreciated and I will endeavor to make it on thursday - I look forward to meeting everyone.
My wee boy was born on 10th May 2005 so there is only 1 day difference between him and your little one. My little man has yet to receive any teeth though but thats o.k - he eats so much now, I hate to think what the grocery bill will be when he is 2!!!
Kind regards
Shannon
Hi and Welcome to Perth !
Where abouts in Perth are you living ? I have a wonderful lady near me who looks after Sebastian (20m) one day a week and she looks after another little girl (8m) on two days but it wouldn't be much help if you live miles away though. :)
Sorry I just saw that you live in Dianella which is miles away from me so my lady wouldn't be of any help to you :( oh well.

Welcome to Bubhub and welcome to Australia.
I had my DD in family daycare from the time she was 5 months old. I went through Wanslea Family Daycare Scheme which is based in Scarborough. I can't remember where Dianella is but if you are looking for somewhere close to the CBD then you should check with Wanslea as they cover Subiaco area. My DD had a great carer, and when that one went on holiday for a month Wanslea found a back up carer for me who also took babies.
Good luck.

Hi and Welcome,
You will find alot of help on this site.
I had my DS in a daycare in Noranda, which is close to u. He started there wen he was 6mths and they were fantastic. I'm not sure on costs and not sure if there is a waiting list. I was never on one as soon as I moved to Perth I got him in.
We have moved further North about 4 mths ago but I will recommend the Noranda Childcare Centre to anyone in the area. The ladies there are fantastic.:D
Hope all goes well for u and settle in quickly, Perth is a beautiful City and this site is fantastic.
Take Care:)
