Ok since becoming pregnant I have gained my overly sensitive nose back...

I wash DS's nappies every second day.... but opening the bucket and pulling the inserts and things out and putting them into the machine makes me dry reach and chuck from the smell...

and the bucket even empty smells.... I don't know hoe bad it is as my nose is mega senstive... so it may not be as bad as I think it is...

But my question is... is there something I can put in the bucket to make it smell slightly nice??... or something that can be used to wash it out to leave a nice scent in it??

What does everyone else do with their buckets??

TIA

I put eucalyptus oil on the inside of the lid, it works well!

I use pail pals aswell, they work really well, or you can put bi carb soda in the bottom of the bucket, and then cover it with some baking paper, and pile your nappies on top

I use a Large Bummis wet bag as a liner and then throw it in the wash with the nappies then the bucket doesn't smell or need washing each time I empty it. You might also try not closing the lid, allowing air to circulate means the smell doesn't concentrate under the lid waiting to hit you when you open it. Surprisingly it doesn't smell doing it that way unless you've just added a fresh poo nappy to the mix of course
