When do you receive the $600 per child bonus? I got my tax return today. What about the 06/07 CCB rebate? Does that come with or around the same time?
Thanks

My tax refund was in my account, but nothing else. I had my regular ftb a and b put into my account yesterday. Should I just wait a bit or should I be calling someone?:detective:

We got a tax statement in the mail a few days later that showed what all the money was, but if you think they've messed up wouldn't hurt to call.

Sorry forgot to add, if you have a partner I think they have to have done their return as well before you get the supp.

I'm fairly certain my bonus was paid direct into our account from Centrelink last year - within a week of the tax return coming.

No I dont have a partner, do I still have to wait for the ex to do his? I know my childsupport payment are assessed acoording to his income. Does that have anything to do with it? How does the CCB rebate work for 06/07?
As you can probably tell Im very confused! I hate this stuff.

I think they must have changed it this year as we had that happen last year too but this year it came directly with tax refund from ATO.

I would say that is what the hold up is. They keep that money aside in case you owe them anything by underestimating so... tell him to get a move on:D

It said on my refund that I had been paid the correct amount of ftb. So Im not expecting anything from them for that, but does that mean i dont get the $600 per child then? I thought it was something completely different?

I'm not sure on the exact ins and outs sorry but I assume if your ex DH underestimated his wage then he may have to pay more maintenance. Depending on how much that was you may have been paid too much centrelink benefits and so they would use the supp to recover funds. Is actually a better scheme then when you would get hit with a bill but prob a real pain for you when you were obviously expecting the supp and can't really control what your ex tells centrelink. But either way I assume you will get some etra money, might be best to talk with ex and/or call centrelink.

I am hoping it still comes as I dont get paid childsupport from my ex. So in actual fact I am getting less ftb than what Im meant to. We had a private agreement so I cant do anything about that, but have started claiming through csa in the past month with no payment still. So I better be bloody getting the supp. Will have to call centrelink to find out for sure.
What about the CCB rebate though whats the go there? Is that something else I am entitled to?

The CCB rebate is a tax offset - not an actual cash back in hand "rebate" as such.

If you have paid tax this financial year - the 30% amount will be used as a tax offset (ie: lessening the amount of tax you have to pay - so therefore increasing your refund).
If you have not paid tax - then unfortunately - the CCB rebate is worth nothing to you.

Next year it will be paid as a direct rebate to all eligible familes from the Family Assistance Office - based on what my Accountant has said.
The last two years it has been low income familes and single parents who have been jibbed on this, it only benefitted people paying a respectable amount of tax.

I received my tax back about 4 weeks ago and have only just recieved my FTB supplements in my account. So mine were paid as 2 seperate payments.
If you are your ex were seperated for the whole financial year they wouldn't be waiting for him to do his tax as it has nothing to do with yours.

30% CCB for 06/07 should be paid straight into your account maybe in about September. Family assistance were taking over as of last financial year and they have to wait for childcare centres to reconcile.

Q. When do the Child Care Tax Rebate (CCTR) changes take effect?
A. The new Child Care Tax Rebate (CCTR) payment arrangements apply to child care costs incurred since 1 July 2006. Costs incurred before that date will still need to be claimed through the taxation system.
Q. What do I have to do to receive the Child Care Tax Rebate (CCTR)?
A. For child care costs incurred in 2005-06 you will still need to claim the Child Care Tax Rebate (CCTR) in your 2006-07 tax return.
For child care costs incurred after 1 July 2006 the Family Assistance Office (FAO) will pay the CCTR annually directly into your bank account after you and your partner (if you have one) have lodged your tax return and your child care service has reported how much you had in out-of-pocket expenses.
If you or your partner (if you have one) are not required to lodge a tax return you need to advise the FAO of this so that your CCTR payment (if you’re eligible) can still be processed.

Aha thanks girls!
Mum23girls thats the one I was wondering about. Amberlea yeah I got jibbed on my CCB rebate for 04/05 and 05/06. My accountant said it wasn't fair on single mums and low income earners too. So was wondering about the 06/07 one as i knew it had changed but wasn't sure how I go about getting it.
So I'll just wait and hopefully it will come soon so I can pay some bills. :smiliedance: .....not!!!

hey don't sit and wait for it, I'm a single mum (my daughter was born in feb), I went in and asked, and it was paid into my account within 2 days, not the whole amount as I'd only been a mum for five months. They told me that the single mums, or parents recieving full centerlink payments, get their tax offset first, and I think (but not positive) that if you r not getting child support you should get it all. Any way good luck, I know how hard it is living on the sole parent income, and getting no child support.
