Ok I am looking at working a bit from home doing Childbirth Education classes, In Home breastfeeding support and Postnatal visits/follow up.....so here are my questions....
1. Do you feel that there is a demand for this
2. Would you be willing to pay for such a service
3. How much would be the maximum you would pay
4. What qualifications would you want the person to have....ie would you want them to be a Lactation Consultant as well as a midwife or do you think a midwife is enough?
5. If you were looking for these services where would you look???

Thanks for your help :hugs:

1. Do you feel that there is a demand for this yes, I think so, especially from a lovely middie like yourself! A lot of people get put off by the hospital mids and LC's as they can be a bit too forceful!!

2. Would you be willing to pay for such a service I suppose so...nothing comes for free these days!! Is there any way you could make it part medicare claimable? I think that would be more of an incentive to access you!

3. How much would be the maximum you would pay No idea! But it would have to be worth it for the convenience, compared to the cost of formula!

4. What qualifications would you want the person to have....ie would you want them to be a Lactation Consultant as well as a midwife or do you think a midwife is enough? If a midwife knew just as much as a LC, that would do!

5. If you were looking for these services where would you look??? GP, or in the baby book (don't know what it takes to get published in there!!) or even at the child health clinic.

I think there is also a need for a prenatal Breastfeeding classes. There never used to be any around with my kids, don't know about now!
