Hiya!

I tried lots of types of nappies when starting with MCNs and found that AIO's and pocket nappies just weren't for me. They always leaked and I just didn't get the hang of them. My lo had very skinny little legs and this was probably the problem as the nappies didn't fit well around his legs.

I settled on fitted nappies (Totsbots Bamboozles) and PUL covers (Motherease Rikki were my choice for coping with pre-solids runny poo, and Motherease Airflow wraps now lo is older).

I have used this combo for 18months and it's still going strong for us.

I know there are lots of other systems that work really well though, so check out other mums' ideas and your budget etc.

I would really recommend trying some samples of different nappies before spending lots of money on one type. It's the best way to find out what suits you best.

HTH, Kylie

Tahnks, I have been using mcn's for many months now, but I have recently put my toddler in them as well as bubs and really need more nappies!! I am sticking to some of my current faves but also want to try some others and as always I'm incredibly indecisive!! I have mainly pockets and just a couple of fitteds so really want to try some other styles.

True... BUT

If you think that a Berry Plush is $36 AUD.

and comparitively the BlueBerry is about $31AUD..

and postage is about $20AUD

then you only need to buy 4 Blueberries to cover costs... (that's how I justify it to DH anyway. )

AIO: I love my Magi-all AIO's

Fitteds: Baby Beehinds Bamboos, with either Bonds polar fleece trakkies as a cover, or my Bummis PUL covers

I really love my Swaddlebee side-snap organic velour pockets. The BumGenius and Green Kids pockets have been great as a workhorse pocket too. I also love Em's (HoopDeeDoo) pockets, AI2s and bamboo fitteds

I do like my Very Baby Simply Nights made from bamboo velour- my kids wet too heavily overnight for them but they make a great day sleep/day wear fitted for Ariene. Ronan tends to just wear pockets.

AIOs.... Again, Em's (Hoop) AI2s are fabulous. I really don't have many real AIOs because they take so long to dry, I like the ones where the absorbant layers snap-out for faster drying, like Berry Plush and Itti Bitti do.

Covers- Baby Beehinds pul covers are affordable and fit brilliantly on my kids, and my own lanolised wool knitteds.

Fav Fitteds- Butt Natural Butt Wraps
Fav Pockets- Beetlebums
Fav Cover- Organic Knitted Woolies from Butt Natural.
I am not a fan of AIO's cause of the drying time. I quite like Berry Plush though- not the best fit but the minky is lush and they contain really well. And who wouldnt like to sit on Minky? DD sure likes it lol

I'm really not a fitteds fan at all so can't help you there.
Also AIOs tend to take ages to dry and if your bub is a heavy wetter you may find they'll leak if there isn't enough room in the nappy for boosting.
I do like my BB magic-alls but don't think I'd buy any more.
I LOVE my Berry Plush because they are so SOFT, GORGEOUS COLOURS, and the INSERT SNAPS OUT. Plus I prefer snaps over velcro any day! It does fit a teeny bit funny around the front- but not so much now DD is getting bigger, but FITS PERFECT around the bum and legs and never had a leak yet.
As for pockets- I love my Baby Kangas and Bum Genius'. Be hard to say which I prefer more out of those two. - probably the Kangas. They are both OSFA which is great! Especially if I end up having any more kids while DD is still in nappies!

I absolutely love my Bummis. Got a starter pack about four months ago and then two extra covers about two months ago and haven't looked back. Before that I was using Moltex but they didn't compost as well as they were supposed to!

Personally i'm a huge pocket fan - Bumgenius one-size & Beetlebums being my fave. I do have a couple of AIO's though - Bubblebubs are really well made & cute as, but i tend to choose a pocket first lately for the drying time factor.

Fitteds? - you can't go past a Bamboo Baby Beehinds - great one-size fit, super absorbent, gorgeous colours, + cheap compared to many others!

Maybe consider some pockets too - when i was starting out with mcn they were the type that least appealed to me (i thought stuffing would just be too much trouble, but it's really not), now they've turned out to be my fave!

Covers? - knitteds for sure
