Liquid. I was suspecting that the powder I was using was taking too long to dissolve and get to work, and I was right- this new stuff I'm using is brilliant. I use a dessert-spoon-full in a large load.
The Sensitive powder from ALDI.

I use the Planet Ark Aware for sensitive skin. For a full 7kg load I only need 2 tablespoons, and I dissolve in hot water first, then put it into my machine. I was using Amolin sensitive, but I found I needed a lot of washing liquid per load, and I kept getting stinky nappies.
Since switching I'm only buying a small box about every 3 weeks, and thats for all our washing, and no more stinky nappies. It's really great stuff  I only need 4 - 5 tablepoons for a full load of cloths washing

i use either coles or woolies homebrand bulk pack. and only a tiny bit. i use a 1/2 scoop for the clothes so i use only a 1/8th for the nappies.
it is so cheap. i get 2 kgs for $4 and it lasts me about 2 months or more depending on how much washing i do.

I use Aware.
earth choice liquid. I read a comparison of washing powders/liquids in an eco magazine which said that liquids generally contain less sodium than powders so are usually better for the environment (if they're also phosphate-free of course!).

I use a non phosphorous liquid and vinegar (to disinfect) so that I can use the grey water.

Omo Sensitive 1/4 scoop
I use the Planet Ark Aware for sensitive skin. For a full 7kg load I only need 2 tablespoons, and I dissolve in hot water first, then put it into my machine.
I only need 4 - 5 tablepoons for a full load of cloths washing
Ditto, except I only use barely 1 tbsp for a 7kg load (front loader).
I wash in cold so I dissolved the powder in hot water during winter.
Was using Planet Ark Aware sensitive, then tried Aldi Trimat sensitive which was good, and just got some Omo Sensitive on super special LOL so I'm giving that a go.
I'm finding that any of the sensitive powders are pretty good / seem much the same, I only use 1/4 to 1/3 the recommended amount.
