Hi,
Just wanted to see if I'm the only one who has suffered this problem after birth. I had my beautiful daughter 14 months ago and had her naturally but with an epidural which was assisted. She just really didn't want to come out. Anyway after they took out the cathader (not sure if that's how you spell it) I had no bladder control AT ALL I didn't even know I was going to the loo it was just like it was falling out and was very embarrising. After about two weeks the problem started to fix itself as everyone keept telling me. With the assistance of pelic floor exercises it is alot better but still have problems when running or coughing.
As we are planning on having a second child soon I'm a little scared this may occur agian or even if I will be able to give birth naturally. Has anyone else had this problem before I know some women can have bladder weakness after birth but total bladder loss?????

Anyway thanks for listening

I had my son 5 months ago and after the birth i had the same thing. I thought it was a big gush of blood because i couldnt feel it at all and then when i got to the bathroom i realised what had happened. It started to fix itself after a few days which was good. If you have another natural birth it might happen again because of the strain on the pelvic floor muscles. asked the doctor about it while i was in hospital and they said it was extremely common for women who've had a natural birth to experience the same thing. So never fear, your not the only one.
good luck.
