Has anyone done the calcs on the new formula? I found it here at
http://www.mensrights.com.au/Simple%20CS%20Calculation%20XL.htm
We pay $800 per month in child support :banghead: and it says that it will go down to around just under $500 per month - YAY! Fingers crossed :smiliedance:
we also recently found out that we were entitled to shared care through the family assistance office. PsyBio mum was claiming 100% care when we were having sd each fortnight and half school hols.?? If you have your skids more than 10% you are entitled and if you have them 30% or more you are entitled to cs from the custodial parent. We didnt know know any of this until recently!!!
BTW - to all you step parents out there - YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!:yelclap: :yelclap:

I just did it for us, and it won't make any difference, as we are on a private agreement, and this calculation comes in at almost exactly what we already pay her...at least when this agreement ends, she won't be able to use the formula to ask for more money I spose.

Is you have care of the child more than 10% you can also be back payed two years by the family assistance office.
Which means they are gong to have to pay the money back to the FOA.
:shame: sooo good

Hey guys...just a question on this proposed CS formula in the above link...where it says
"Enter your adjusted taxable income (taxable income plus supplementary amounts)"
is this the amount in the current formula which is the difference between the person's income and the exempted income eg income is $30 000 minus the $26 953 exempted income for other dependents etc and so adjusted income is $3047 - is it this amount that goes in the new formula where it says the adjusted taxable income?
And what about payee is that just their income amount?
Hope i have made sense there!!
Thanks!!
Hi Mrs D
Pretty sure the adjusted taxable income is before they take out the exempted amount. This is because the exempted amount is changing according to age of kids etc.
I have just claimed back all of the family assistance df & I were entitled to and just only found about... And since having ds 4 months ago the maintenance reduced to almost nothing... She wasn't a happy little duck... She's not yet realized her debt to FAO...(in the thousands)she was claiming 100% care and didn't inform CS or centerlink of any changes... Silly us should have done something earlier but didn't.
I know it's petty but we have been struggling and DF pays for everything to do with his son and we are going through court proceedings to get shared care... It's almost as if she is paying us our solicitor fees yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!!!!!!!! (sorry!!)
So what happens when the main carer earns a lot more than the now paying parent, I popped that into the calc and its a negative!!!
Does anyone have a link to all of these new changes? Im trying to understand it all and whether it is going to affect my situation
M2B - I've got the whole document with formula's I can post (via email etc), but otherwise, try the link in the OP
R - its not so much the formula im looking at but more in words what all the changes are and if any of K's changes can affect me and Bug in anyway where B is concerned. I have to admit I havent really taken any notice yet of these changes that are meant to be coming in.
