Why did the woolies leak??
This is the second time ds has worn them, the first time he woke up with a pretty wet nappy but was otherwise dry. Last night, same nappy combo, same longies, woke up saturated through to his sheets.......WHY????
He is wearing a bbh with both inserts and a gk booster folded in half inside and I presume the longies are properly lanolied as they worked the previous night and I can feel the lanolin on them.

I am so disappointed, I was going to post some piccies of my bubs sleeping in cloth as I was so exited that we are finally truly full time clothies!
Hell, I'll post the pics anyway.....lol!

Gorgeous pics, I love sleeping babies:hugs:

No advice on the leaking though, sorry.

you'll probably find that he just might have done an extra wee or two last night, and there wasn't enough absorbency there to cope.
you could try adding some extra boosting between the nappy and the cover, putting the night nappy on just before he goes to bed or offering him a chance to pee on the potty/toilet before going bed, and see if that helps.
cute pics ;)

I'm sure you are not doing anything wrong. This is so rare- my boy is a heavy wetter and only woolies will stand up to him when PUL, wool wraps and disposables all failed.

Did you lanolise or did the shop? You can buy lanolin sprays to boost in between lanolising if need be but it doesn't really sound like that was the problem if you can still feel lanoloin.

The only other thing I can think of is compression wicking- this allows moisture to seep through if pressure is applied to the wet wool surface for extended times. Maybe your bub slept in the same position for a very long time and it caused this. It usually takes pressure in a very set spot for about 3-4 hours+ with lots of wee but that is possible. Most bubs roll around a bit in their sleep so it isn't a problem- but it could still happen.

Make sure you have a mattress protector if this continues and don't give up on the woolies- natural, easy care and super cute. PM me if you like,

The other thing I noticed is bubs is a tummy sleeper. Did you put the booster at front?
Also was the nappy hemp or bamboo? Bamboo is more absorbent than hemp.

You may need to invest in the night nappy like bubblebubs, very baby, wild child, or cherub's kiss

Or use a bamboo fold up booster on the inside, and the outside between nappy and cover. Baby BeeHinds have awesome bamboo boosters I use in my less absorbent fitteds.

And I also agree about changing the nappy just before bed, and as soon as he wakes up. I know both my boys do huge wees right before bed, and as soon as they wake up, and not too much in between.
