Hi all:wave:

Well I finally received bigger BB PUL covers in the mail and teamed up with a fleece liner, a BBB, a bamboo booster and a PUL cover DD had no leaks for 13 hours incl a 200 ml bottle at 5.30am (3 hours before she woke up fully). So I'm stoked :smiliedance:plus she had no rashes from the fleece liner as I thought she may have.

I'm really thinking about converting to full time use but would like to know if hemp is the way to go for day use. I've heard it dries quicker which is great and it's also more trim, another plus. But they are not as absorbent as BBB plus they smell.

I have some questions and would really appreciate some feedback.

Could anyone tell me how many hours one BBH lasts during the day just for wees?

And how many BBH nappies do I need for an average 17 month old for daytime use for one day?

How long does a hemp nappy take to dry compared to a BBB? Is there much difference?

Do you have trouble putting normal sized pants or shorts over them?

Also is BBH the only way to go as far as hemp nappies?

So sorry for all the questions. But I need to arm myself fully with all the info before I can convince the husband, who isn't that keen on spending the money.

Thanks so much

Could anyone tell me how many hours one BBH lasts during the day just for wees? Depends if your DD is a big wetter or not, but you always change whether in a disposable or cloth nappy as soon as you notice that they are wet or smelling very iffy. It's not advisable to leave a wet nappy on for extended time at all because it's unhygienic.

It just depends how long a nappy lasts during the day. Maybe go by the amount of disposable you used during the day.

And how many BBH nappies do I need for an average 17 month old for daytime use for one day? Like above, it depends how much your DD wee's. My DD2 is 14months and goes through 4 day time nappies.

How long does a hemp nappy take to dry compared to a BBB? Is there much difference? Yes there is difference. Bamboo is much absorbent than hemp which Bamboos take longer to dry. The drying time depends on where you like and the weather. In Victoria a BBB can take me 3hours to 1.5 days to dry. I try and hang them outside for as long as I can and if at teh end of the day they aren't dry I finish them off in the dryer on a low setting.

Do you have trouble putting normal sized pants or shorts over them? Yes I have, but that could be because I have a chubby baby. I find that pants with extendable waist bands sometimes does the trick. I've purchased Baby Beehinds Magic All's (AIO) for daytime use now and think highly of them. They are trim and absorbent. Love 'em!

Also is BBH the only way to go as far as hemp nappies? No, there's a fair few WAHM's out there that still make fitteds from hemp. It's a matter of searching though. A good start would be to use the bubhub directory.

Do not apologise for the questions. It's always good to ask someone if you aren't to sure about something yourself and cloth mums are a great bunch who are always willing to help. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hope that helped!

Thanks for that KarniF00l

I've just bought a Mandy Mac hemp nappy, they're half the price of a bamboo hemp so I'll see how they go. If they don't do the job I might try a BBH.

I do love the BBB nappies though.
