Hi everyone!:D
Just thought I'd let you all know, in case you didn't see it on the news tonight, the WCH is doing some kind of hypno-birthing study, you know like a research thing. If you want to participate, you have to be under 31 weeks pregnant at the moment, and planning on giving birth at the WCH. The hospital's switchboard number is 81617000.
I'm not birthing at WCH, otherwise I would give it a go myself!
(I only kinda half-saw the story on the news, thanks to my daughter's nightly singing concert which I endure - oh I mean which I enjoy :p - while I'm preparing dinner. )

The Gawler Hospital is being run by the WCH now, I wonder if they are doing it there?

The maternity at Gawler is absolautely brilliant now queen, they have treated me better than any other hospital and i'm just thrilled to be having him/her there. Which hospital are you going too?

I'm going to the Lyell McEwen.
Well, I guess I am. I've been there for blood tests and ultrasounds. It's the closest hospital to where I am, and they've done up their maternity section so apparently it's really world-class now. I haven't been on a tour yet though. I'm considering a water-birth so if they have those facilities I'll be more inclined to give birth there.
Ideally, if I got everything I wanted, I'd be having a home-birth, home water-birth actually. But DH  "what if something goes wrong?" etc etc. Plus he thinks we wouldn't be allowed to because we're only renting:confused:
Does the Gawler hospital have water-birth facilities, do you know? I remember you saying you were interested in that water-birthing information night.

I'm using the Northern Womens Community Midwifery Programme, so I can birth wherever I want, I think.

I had my last three at the lyell. I have my 20 week appointment next monday, and i'll be talking to them about water births then. I am SO hoping they support water births like they have been so supportive about everything else, but if they dont I will probably have it at home, i'm only three minute drive from the hospital if need be.
I'll keep you updated on what they say. :)
Mandy - me too, have you booked into the birthing suite??
