Hi there lovely ladies

Well it is slowly getting closer and closer to the big day......
I have been gradually building my stash and just wanted to get some feedback.....

I would like to know:

Do you think i have enough nappies? (I am planning to use wool covers & BBB at night & PUL & other nappies during day....)

I have knitted 2 of my woollen soakers from the tiny birds redux pattern for newborns - does anyone know how long this size will fit him for? (ie. should i start knitting bigger ones now?)

I have:

Nappies:
10 flannelette flats
15 terry flats
20 small (4-11kg) el cheapo terry fitteds from ebay
7 BBB
8 BBH
4 BumGenius pockets
3 Haute Pockets

Covers:

3 newborn sz Bummis PUL covers (3-5kg)
4 woollen covers
1 small Bummis PUL (4-7kg)
2 eenee wraps (6-12 kg)
3 eenee pouch pants (?) (6-12 kg)

OK - if you managed to get through all that, i truly appreciate any advice, tips or feedback you can offer....

Sounds lovely :) I think BBB's & BBH's are usually a little too large for newborns though so I (personally) would buy some more terry flats (cause i like snappi's instead of pins) They come in handy for EVERYTHING anyway, so it is def not wasted money, great for chucky-ness, nappy changes (as a mat when out) nappy free time, when it rains (ie drying time) etc etc etc. Also, I would go and buy some polar fleece or Mirco Fleece and cut it up for nappy liners (no need to hem- doesnt fray, washes well, easier to clean up poopy nappies & keeps bubs bot dry) I had 2 dozen terry flats and that was not enough for us with a newborn- 8 nappy's a day minimum for her bot bot + a chuck-a-ramma bub who went through almost as many for spew cloths... But you might be okay, my bub was esp spewy lol.

I have a full time nappy package off baby beehinds, fit's Julius prefect.(I find Huggies leak something cronic!! also they look so uncomfy)He does not run out, he use's 8-12 nappies a day and I always have enough that I dont have to worry about not being able to 'nappy' him I have 8 PUL and 2 wool wraps, Iam very happy with this amount...It sounds like you have a great stash!! :D

I second Susie on buying more flats, either terry or flanalette for the same reasons, you can never have enough and BBB seems huge on a newborn.
Also for the first 2-3 weeks my girl was going through atleast 15 dirty nappies a day! Thankfully she's slowed down to about 6-8 total now at 6 weeks but it never hurts to be prepared with heaps of nappies!
It will also depend on the size of your bub when s/he is born as to how long it'll take for them to outgrow newborn size. My girl was born 8lb, and weighs 5kg (11lb) now at 6 weeks and outgrew most of her newborn items at about 4 weeks old when she was about 4.5kg.

Anyway, your stash seems great! Oh, and goodluck!!

Thanks heaps for the advice ladies - will get some more terry flats cos i'm sure they will come in handy!

Neostudded - what size are all your PUL covers? And what sort have you got?
I have been reading about these pooplosions & wondering what the best ones are for containing this......
