Ok, so I'm still very new at the mcn thing - I now have 3 greenkids, 1 woddle bots and 3 wrigglybumz and love them all - although my minky wrigglybumz are my fave!! Anyway, I also have 3 terry towelling nappies - from Kmart, not sure if they're classed as fitted? But they are not flats..my question is what should I put on the outside of them? I bought some regular pilchers with funky material on the outside, but the elastic legs and waist seems to cut in to bubs.
Is there anything else I can get that work well?? I only have these on her during the day at home.
The covers you have sound like PVC covers. They're not so great and are a real cause of nappy rash.
Have a look at either PUL covers (similar to PVC except they're breathable and generally have an elastic that doesn't cut into the legs), wool or fleece covers.
Wool soakers, shorties and longies are fantastic. If you're able to knit it is a cheap alternative, otherwise Ozebaby, Wahmania, Sustainable Hemp Products, Nurture Nappies, and various other online stores sell them.
For PUL check our Baby Beehinds, Bummis, Motherease, Tots Bots, etc.
You'll find the terry fitteds from Kmart won't hold up as well as your other nappies. They are of a low quality and poorly made. However, for short periods they would be okay.

Do not buy fluffies!!!
They look like terry towel fitteds, but they have POLYESTER wadding in the part where there should be cotton, bamboo, or hemp. They are rubbish! They will be less absorbent than normal terry flats.
A lot of baby stores carry some Really good cloth nappies, like Peapods, Baby BeeHinds, and others.
Lok for products that have Hemp, Bamboo or cotton for the absorbent part.
And covers that have polyurethiene coating, not PVC
