My daughter is in it for the second year this year. She loves it, but it is very pricey... we pay almost $1000 each year including uniforms and a 4 day performing arts school in july holidays, then there are concerts 3 times a year and all the associated costs of time and attending (we're in outer suburbs of brisbane, so driving to the city for concert rehersal, then back to attend etc). Most people are put off by the costs, but we find it is a great experience for DD.

Not my child, but my nephew was in the Ayustralian Youth Choir for a few years. He loved it  Got to perform with the Vienna boys choir too.

As MrsDribbleDrawers stated, it is not cheap and very time consuming for parents so if you are not prepared for that best to find someonewhere local for them to attend rather then the disappointment after auditioning. Don't think they actually reject any kids from auditions either it just allows them to judge levels of talent etc for class placements.

I was in the Australian Youth Choir for 5 years. I think it was excellant and would love for my Ds to do something like this when he's older.

I started in the Probationary Choir, than went to training choir, than the Performing Choir. From their I was selected to go on tour overseas to america and London. We sang with the Philadelphia Boys Choir (2nd most pretigious choir in the world), sang at Disneyland, and Westminister Abby (amazing experience) and got to see and expeience things I would never had the chance to experience otherwise.

I sang with the Vienna Boys choir and performed in 2 commercials, a Quantas one and a Lays chips one. We also got to sing in the Opera House (another AMAZING experience) and loads of others that I could tell you about if I had all day!

DD1 sang with them in July... I'm sad we didn't get to hear them cause of the other kids, but everyone thought they did an amazing job!! She's in the training choir, but starting to have second thoughts about staying next year.

dd is now in her school choir..that is what she wished to do and they travelled to sydney last year and sang at the opera house..it was the best concert of kids i'd seen and plus i was also in aw as i'd never been in the opera house myself!
