Hey Ladies,

The weather is so bad here on the gold coast, it's almost like a cyclone! Very scary but cool at the same time.

Madi is sleeping through it too which is good, she had a huge day at day care today. They are making Father's Day presents so it's all very exciting for her, painting her hands. Oh and she has a little admirer at day care who apparently just stares at her all day and crawls after her.

Thanks for the advise on solids when sick, I will have to remember that one.

We get our car tomorrow, it's a 2007 Ford Focus Sedan, nice family car. I don't want to get it though 'cause this weather is so bad to drive in. The winds are so strong it just nearly blew over our glass outdoor table..crazy!

YAY! I am glad other mummies are co-sleeping. I didn't want to admit to it as a few ppl I talk to are so against it re:sids etc....But the way our house is it's just so much easier, kids rooms are at the front and our b'room is right down the back on another level. Plus I find she sleeps all night in our bed but will wake at least once if she goes in the cot.

LL, Congrats Harper, that's fantastic news! :smiliedance:

Madi is so slow, she has only just learnt to hold things in her hands, nothing else really.....well she can roll from side to side but that's it! Do you think that's too slow? She's happy enough to do her own thing I guess.

I talked to my mum today about cloth nappies and we are going to try it out. I have been thinking about it so much so I am going to go find some to try tomorrow.

Another Q - is there any other mummies that buy jar food? I usually steam and mash my own veges for Madi, but I am thinking 'cause I start full time work start of Sept that I am going to also use Heinz Organic Jar veges etc. I have tried them before and she loves them. But has anyone else bought them - any good or bad views??

I would love to get preggers again but DH said no more, what to do!! I am working on him but he doesn't want anymore only 'cause he thinks it's all his fault that Madi gets sick all the time, 'cause he was sick as a child. I told him Madi is fine, it's quiet normal 'cause she is in day care and that she's not had anything that no other bub hasn't had, but it's not working for him......

Maddi the little sex kitten already!!
Good luck with persuading your DH Nic.

Toadlet has heinz, I dont have time to cook building my Empire! He doesnt like the sweet potatoe (organic) but loves sweetcorn and chicken.

1 hour ago I nearly wrote a reply saying
NOOOOO HARPER DONT SHOW MY LAZY ToADLET UP!!!

but NOW:

YEAH TOADLET !!!! He ROLLED!!!!
Sorry to steal your thunder LL, but I'm a very happy mummy. He did it three times too, back to front (same side).

Although he gets is legs over first then his body.

CarrieB, wait for the party to see what everyone has.

Awww.. just had a NEARLY very touching moment with my toadlet.

I got him up and he was all smiley and happy. I was giving him kisses and saying "iss". Then I said "Kiss, he put his arms around my next, bent forward to put his mouth on my mouth..... then tried to eat me. Close though!

lana just cleared out my inbox.. it was almost full so i dont think your pm got through..
have a great night tonight!!

everyones sleeping here. i feel sick. my brother(obiviously not the one in london hehe.. actually speaking of him he's off to canada today!!) anyway my brother cooked me dinner.. steak & vegies.. it was so yum but now i feel sick. i think i ate too much and it was at 7pm. i always eat before 5.30. usually 5..

oh also... lana, michaela & gaby can you please pm me your addresses.. i have invites :D and anyone else flying to perth around november 4th please let me know hehe.

nic your hubby sounds sweet to blame himself.. silly but sweet hehe. im sure once madi gets a little older and he see's her well and she starts saying daddy he'll give in ;) he sounds like a great dad!

whats everyone buying their partners for fathers day? i've done all the cards but not sure about a pressie. i love the finger print ideas but he wouldnt wear it anyway.. not a fan of necklaces. last resort the girls can pick him a new hat

nic dont stress about madi. apart from A doing those few rolls she only goes side to side.. and favours her right over the left. my little fat chicken lol.

M has her specialist appointment in the morning.. i think we'll be booking her in for the op in the next few weeks. we were going to ditch the dummy but not sure whether to just wait another month.. she might ditch it herself after the op anyway coz its going to hurt to suck on a dummy i reckon..

not sure if i mentioned or not but our drier buggered up.. well actually it was my sisters old one and she gave it to us when we moved in.. the timer had broke so you just had to remember when it was turned on or it'd stay on all day! anyway chris is a mr fix it.. loves pulling things apart so he had fixed that within minutes .. to my sisters disgust lol. anyway she just gave us her other one she had bought after the last one and said it needed to be fixed it'd cost $100 max.. well chris went and picked up the part needed for $20 and did it himself. this drier is the best!!! havent let her know yet lol she wont care tho coz they're moving house so she "needed" new stuff haha

im trying to think of something to get her. she truly is an amazing person. the type of sister you could call at midnight and she wouldnt care. i love her to bits. any ideas???

since getting my tax money all he bills are coming in!! grr! why does this happen? chris gets his tax and spends almost all of it on a new computer.. our new screen looks like a tv. plasma or something.. i like it but we so could have got other things.. anyway its now down to me to spend my money on bills. atleast i've done some birthday/christmas shopping. and im definitely getting an outdoor setting!!

Elmopalooza
22-08-2007, 00:41
Sheree - I have emailed you my address and also a little info re the grobag situation... Oh and i have PM'd that website to you again too lol

Yeah i think maybe leave the dummy throwing until after her op, at least that way she will have something comforting.

So typical of the bills to come in now that your tax money is through.. i havent even done mine yet!

Well, I am still here - nearly blown off the planet during the night! The weather is hideous here on the goldy...

M2B - I am at broadbeach, and our house faces south - the wind rips up the canal and hits our back doors (glass) and its a tad scary at times..I can see the glass bending.... Thankfully Ellery slept through, I woke up numerous times with the howling wind - it is really noise with the doors etc..... Hoping it improves a bit today. Am yet to see the news - but will turn it on soon to see what damage has been made around the place. It is similar to a mini-cyclone hey!

Shezi - glad you were waited upon by your brother - but not so good that you ate too much...:barf: Hope you're feeling better this morning.... I don't know what to get DP either for fathers day. Hoping you all had some ideas too...
Glad the new dryer is working well. We have an older one also - need to get a newby, but haven't gotten around to it... In this weather - I think i'll have to get the old clunker working though....

Lana - that sux that the bills came in when you got your tax $$'s... It's just murphy's law - but not fair hey.....

Not much happening this end - as the weather is too awful... I think we'll have a very looong and boring day indoors. Not only is it wet - but the wind nearly blows you off your feet... Just gross.

Hope everyone's well...

Mel

Well Iris's face is fine thankgoodness
Although last night around 7pm I went to check on her as she was still asleep from her 5pm nap and she was all wet I mean soaking wet
At first I thought it was sweat BUT soon realised it was vomit she was covered in it from her head to her waist
BUT yet she lay in it smiling up at me
 she is too placid LOL to sit her her own vomit and not complain...that aint normal maybe I gave birth to an alien LOL

would explain alot....hehehehe:laughing:

I would love to get preggers again but DH said no more, what to do!! I told him Madi is fine, it's quiet normal 'cause she is in day care and that she's not had anything that no other bub hasn't had, but it's not working for him......

aww your poor DH tell him I was the same when O was always sick I blamed my genes too BUT Iris is so far very healthy (apart from a lil eczema)
so the next bub is bound to be as fit as a fiddle is that how the saying goes???

Yay for Harper and Monty:yelclap:

Gin....sorry didnt reply to your pm something wrong with my box hahaha thats sounds lovely heh :o
I am very excited hmm!

I cant wait to find out who my KK is as i have some very noice gifts in mind........

Quick post....

Off to mum's to dry all my washing in the dryer ... 6 loads!!! My little car is stacked to the roof lol. Not looking fwd to carrying it up the stairs into mum's house ...

Bloody cyclonic winds & rain here. Scary to drive in but exciting too! The light rain was actually blowing horizontal yesterday! Had to get up & take dh to work at 5am so I could have the car today & I was trying to convince him to stay home & drive us to mum's cos i didn't wanna drive in it ... but the car's nice & warm!

Yay the party is next Wed! Was my turn for MG on Tues so just changed them both for Wed.

MONTY & HARPER - Clever boys!!! *clapping*

Sarah, Iris is so good!

Just gonna buy some covers today to last til next Wed. My terry bum held up fine yesterday but I seem to have an extremely wet girl! Is this associated with teething? She's gonna cut one any day!!

GIN - How many towelling nappies do you recommend to get & go through? Debating whether to buy a pack of the coloured ones (8 pack) as def wanna be using them at home ... Luv them!

Gonna get MCN's but waiting for my "fluffy mail" (thanks Michaela!) to see how those 3 go & the party & gradually build up my supply & towelling ones in the meantime, sposies when out.

Ella can use those stupid ones I bought on her dolls when older lol.

Michaela you can always fly over for the party! Hehe.

Shezi, for Father's day I am getting that lovely book "Kisses for Daddy" and gonna try & get Pixi Fotos done before then & give him one in a frame or something (It's his b'day on the 4th so it'll be like a joint pressy) and new shoes for his b'day ... Oh and that brand is DC!! Notice I am using those days as an excuse to get the pics done? Lol.

Gtg cos E's awake & gtg to mum's now.

Have a good day!

 Amity has fatty feet too!

Sarah - Im glad to heat that Iris' face is ok now... Poor little mite. Lol i cant believe she didnt complain about laying in her vomit!

Carrie - Good luck with your washing today. Make sure the wind doesnt get hold of a pair of your knickers and blow them down the street!!

ETA: I have been looking on the Wee Wuns website and im thinking of buying one Sugar Peas Wool All in Two and giving that a go... What do you MCN experts think??

Hi Anna!!

I was thinking about you today.

Sarah! you two look fantastic. I think I love mine more than Monty though.

I think toadlet is a litle "backed up" very hard poops and lots of straining but not much happening.

Have a great day!

Sarah - the ergo certainly looks comfy.... Hope Iris continues to enjoy it (along with you)

Anna - glad Leah's doing alright with the solids. Ellery has a habit of spitting it at me a bit, but she also seems to sneeze (twice) with every feed and if I'm not careful, I get totally covered. Just delightful....:D

Carrie - hope you managed to get the washing all dry.... The rains sort of cleared a little here, but it's still lurking around. Ellery has plenty of clothes and stuff, but DP and I are going to run out soon enough..... They're predicting more rain, so I might have to turn the old clunker of a dryer on sooner than I had hoped.

Kellie - how's everything going? Hope you've been able to join in the chats etc..... How are the boys behaving?? Hope they aren't wearing you out too much!

Have had a pretty good day today. I went to Pacific Fair and pottered about. Got some books for E, and also a gift for the MIL's birthday. Made soup (pea and ham) hope it turns out alright. Doing it in the slow cooker - haven't made it in years, so could be scary.. ha ha.... Thankfully E's asleep now..... DP will be home about 5.15pm - and E's not due for a feed until about 6.30 - so we might have a chance for a chat before entertainment time, bathtime etc. etc.....

Does anyone elses baby prefer Daddy?

Toadlet loves is daddy to peices and is always laughing at him and smiling at him, makes me feel a little jealous. I know he oves his mummy but half the time he's too busy looking around to be looking at me. :(

melannh

E's like that with her Daddy. I think its because she's been with me ALL DAY - and by the time he gets home shes just so excited to see him.... She hasn't been settling for him though of late - although last night she did.... I think its just different phases they go through, but I do get a little sad (especially if she's been a poo ALL DAY) when her daddy gets home and then all of a sudden shes a complete angel....

Sarah you and Iris both look very comfy in your new Ergo!

Hollie - Do you offer Monty plain water at meal times? You might find that is part of why he is blocked up. The water will help it.

Griff loves Daddy but i am definitely his favourite. Maybe it is just that Frog is a novelty for him seeing as though he is with you all day at home while you work.

Sheree - No worries hun! i got up this morning and Amity had taken her nappy off and wet the bed.

Hi all
Everybody here is good! We are all over our flu/colds. Still a few coughs and boogey's hanging aroung. I still feel like a bit of an intruder but i'm slowly getting there....

E's back at preschool today as he only goes Mon and Wed, so he had the last couple off due to being sick.
N is doing great, he is always rolling around and sometimes ends up half under the couch lol. Most times I put him down he strains to try and sit up, like he's doing little crunches. He has taken to his solids really well being that it's only farex and apples and pears so far. Just brought a few Bonds outfits today, very cute, love the colours...

Great news to hear Harper and Monty have rolled over:yelclap: It's all very exciting, when N rolled for the first time we all clapped and cheered, he just smiled and gave us a look like he's been doing it forever.

All the ergo's look fantastic, hope you are enjoying them...We have a bubba moe sling that we used when N was little, it was excellent, he was always so snug as a bug. I have to find the instructions or go to the website to see how to use it now he is a little bigger and older..

As for father's day, we actually have a few celebrations all around the same time. We have DH birthday on the 31st, 5th Wedding anniversary on the 31st (so he wouldn't forget lol) and then father's day. I know one thing for sure we are going to the Powderfinger/Silverchair concert on the 1st Sept, that's going to be awsome, hubby fan of PF. It's a suprise for him, he has no idea. ;)

Ok got to check dinner,

Hello ... aw new emoticons! (I never take any notice at home since I can't use them!).

Went to the shops before any loads could go in the dryer & had to buy some bibs from Target as all E's are dirty or wet! Only the half the washing is dry, if that so have to leave it here to be done o/n as I have to go home now & get dh.

Still cyclonic winds here... looked like it was clearing before but no ... :rain:

I bought jarred fruit from Woollies & E ate a whole jar for dinner!!! Prob cos not mixed with Farex. She's bathed & had a bottle & passed out on my parents bed.

She has hardly slept all day ...

Hollie - Luv those swatches you emailed, I liked all of them!

Oh & yes Ella luvs her daddy too ... but she has been a mummy's girl lately! Last night she was lying on my lap straining around to see dh & grabbing his finger & holding it,.... aww ...

Ok I really gtg.

Anna, nice to see ya!

Lana & Shezi - E has fatty feet too! Her mini vans (pink & white check) from B&L are great for fatty feet

Mel - I luv Pac Fair!

Nic - Heinz organic is ones I use. They're fine. Don't feel bad!

Ok now I really have to go ...

Sarah, you and little Miss I look very comfy and cosy with your Ergo! What a wonderful gift, yay for Ergo Fairies!
Can't believe how calm she is, lying in her own vomit and smiling?!? LOL, that is a placid little girl!
Thanks for letting me know your messages were not working, glad you got mine.

That reminds me, I've PM'd you Carrie.

Anna-great to hear from you, glad that things are going well.

Nic, the car sounds great, super jealous! Madi sounds like she is doing very well, I hope your DH realises that there are a lot of wonderful things Madi will have from him, a few allergies are nothing ;)

Congratulations LL on Harper rolling too, what a clever chappy, Al must have been so excited that you were able to catch it on video for him!

LT-I think Monty's eat/kiss sounds adorable! He thinks he has a tasty Mumma :D
As for preference, Kes loves a laugh with his Dad, but prefers to spend 99% of his time with me... lovely... but very tiring!

Father's Day eh? What date is that? Not sure what I'll do, I might buy him a bunch of flowers (that's what I do for my Dad) and make a card with little K. My birthday is in a few weeks so that is far more important around our house! (It had better be anyway!) :D

Mel-that weather sounds freaky! I love stormy weather, but get a little scared I must admit. The glass bending would terrify me!

Kellie-good to hear you guys are on the mend, nothing worse than sick kidlets.

Poor Kes screaming the house down, DH trying to calm him but it isn't working... I'm tired.

Big walk with MG today, we do around 3 hours, only 4 women turned up but it was lovely Spring-like weather so I'm glad I went!

Off to cuddle the lad,

Carrie, did you empty your pm box? it was full yesterday.

With Monty rolling, when he was 3 weeks old he used to roll from tummy to back all the time but i forgot to give him tummy time and his big fat head got too big and fat to lift
I'll put the video up online soon.

That's fantastic news Hollie, Monty rolls! Way to go Harper and Monty!!

Cool, glad someone else is using Heinz Organics. Madi loves them!

I agree Mel and Carrie, this weather is so crazy and scary! I woke up screaminig last night 'cause I thought the windows had cracked, they hadn't - I thinking I was dreaming about it - hehe

Madi had a fantastic day at kindy! She laughed so much and played really well with the other bubs. They have a new bouncer which she hogs and doesn't like sharing with the others, a little boy who is 1 tried to pull her off it and apparently she scratched him - naughty Madi. Another little boy tried to bite her on the foot too, but she just laughed....the stories go on and on.....I love hearing about her day from her teachers.

I picked up my new car today, totally lush and loving it! It's so smooth to drive and Madi enjoyed lookinig out the window at the rain - I have to buy some new window shades to fit the car, lucky it's not sunny here.

BG, that's a massive walk! I could never do that. You must have some good energy.

Carrie, that's so much washing! Wow, E must love her fruit that's a great effort for her.

Have no idea what to buy for father's day, I saw in the shopping centre yesterday that you can get a beautiful clock made with a picture of your choice and you can add text to it. I am not good at describing things but they looked really nice.

Madi loves her dad so much and I do get a little jealous sometimes, I think it 'cause he plays with her and gives her 100% of himself when they are together. I always have her hanging off my hip running around the house tyring to get things done

Well I am very tired must go to bed, hope everyone has a great day tomorrow

Aalivyah is definitely mummys girl. all my girls have been. they get very clingy.. even now they all prefer me over dp. makes me feel damn good lol. although they'd trade me for my mum any day!!

And I know ive only had the ergo for like 4hrs LOL not even but I have to say i can see it coming in handy for you Shez so much easier for shopping no more lugging a huge pram in and out of the boot!!!

im definitely convinced :D still looking for the black/cranberry one. im sure once i've bought one in another colour i'll find a website that has it!

oh i forgot to mention.. M's specialist appt went well. she is having her tonsils & adenoids out in 4weeks. she should be the first one in and if she stays in overnight i'll stay there too with bub. luckily she's still at an easy age to lug about hehe. the hospital is the same one i gave birth to her in which, its like a 2minute drive away :D

A has started crying in the car.. i was really looking forward to leaving her rearward till she was older but if she keeps this up her seat will be turned once she's 6months. she's fine usually its just on longer trips over 20mins that she starts up.. will buy a toy with a mirror or something first and see if it makes a difference..

sarah now im starting to think the indigo..:banghead: lol

Yeah and congrats to Monty and Harper - the rollers!!!! E's given up BIG TIME... Hasn't rolled for about 3 weeks now.... Now I am getting a little worried she's behind everyone....:(

Sheree - E's a mummy's girl - but she gets really, really excited when daddy gets home from work... I think she's just sick of me by then... ha ha She won't settle for anyone else but me tho (kind of nice - he he)... I thought she had started settling for Dad - but last night proved she's not quite there yet!!!
Glad M's specialist appoint. went well... At least they're getting onto it.... Four weeks to prepare and as you said, at least she's still young enough to carry around... Hope she continues to stay well till then!

M2B - I had a similar fear about the windows... Glad you were only dreaming it cracked!! I think its a little better here - but there are still large gusts of winds that make the windows bend (Scary)...
Is it still really bad your way Carrie?
I use the Heinz Organic as well. You're not the only one - although I got industrious last night and made up some mashed pot and pumpkin...

Question - Can you freeze pot/pumpkin and then re-heat it? I didn't know if that was safe to give to E or not???????? Hope somebody can help me out with that one?

Everything is fine this end. Went to Pacific Fair and got Ellery another bondsy suit thingy. One of hers is getting a bit tatty - the clip buttons are coming out of the stitching, there were some sales on at Target - so grabbed one from there.... Had a nice coffee. I love Mocha's (on skinny milk - ha ha). Do any of you go to Choclicious at Pacific Fair - they make the best.....

E had a few sleeps yesterday :smiliedance: She seems to like dreary weather.... We went for a short walk in between showers - put the rain cover on to protect her from the wind - works a treat..... She was good though - had a shower with me and then bottle - then bed. Down by 6.45pm.... (yeah)... I got up once to her during the night, but she was fine.... Not sure what to do with ourselves today though. The weather still completely sux - so can't go for a looong walk.... Been to pac. fair and really shouldn't spend anymore $$'s.... Could be a boring one....

Hope you're all continuing to LOVE your new ergos....

Mel~ whats Pot/Pumpkin? is it potato and pumpkin?
sorry its very early here brain not working that good hahahaha

Yes its fine to freeze veggies and reheat just make sure its not boiling hot in the middle as that sometimes happens when heating food in the microwave (Im sure you already knew that im just being over protective)

You can buy those ice cube trays with the lids on them to store bubs food, ive seen them at TRU and woolies etc etc
that way its easier to get a small portion of food out at a time

Gin~ pm's working am off to send you a long one now....just hope your box is empty:detective:

I tried to pm you too carrie BUT dont worry it was just about dolls LOL you didnt miss much just another one of my 'finds' hehehehe

Sarah...I forgot to mention, I hpw that isn't a sign of things to come in 16 years time.
.

awww gawd if shes anything like me its def. a glimpse into her future!
Thankgod I have O to tag along to the parties to 'protect' his lil sis hehehehehe
and she is lucky to have O, she will be able to perve on all his male buddies when they come over hahahaha thats what I used to do with my friends bro....he had some hotties for friends

im definitely convinced :D still looking for the black/cranberry one. im sure once i've bought one in another colour i'll find a website that has it!

oh i forgot to mention..

Gd news from Lana....is it all systems go?

Glad to hear M's going to get everything fixed poor lil thing though have you got a book on hospy stays?

Morning!

What a lovely gusty rainy morning ... MEL no it seems worse again this morning! It keeps going through stages of looking like clearing then it starts up again. This wind is crazy! Our windows bang all night (they are shut) from the pressure of the wind against them.

Hollie - Yes I cleared out my PM's last night so send away! Yay for Master Monty! Hollie, he is very clever - most bubs roll tummy to back first!

Mel - Ella has given up rolling too lol. Some bubs only do once or twice & that's it. The lady at KM advised it is important to keep the rolling thing going even through childhood so eg roll them up in a blanket & sorta flick em out, roll them across the bed which they love (but wait til a bit older hey) and things like rolling down a grassy hill (ooh that was fun!!).

Another thing, when she's on her tummy & winges to go onto her back & doesn't do it herself - tuck her elbow in & sorta in front (the side she is rolling to), bend her opposite leg, & this will automatically roll her onto her side. Do this instead of turning her yourself as it encourages rolling. I think they just forget that they can do it!

Nic - At least Madi stands up for herself at daycare! Sounds like she loves it which must put your mind at ease. Your car sounds lovely :)

Gin - Thanks for your PM. I am still uploading the sites but it is soooo slow this morning! I might have to leave til tomorrow. I will look at the pics tomorrow too- but I wanna see now!! Hehe. I bought some cotton liners from Woollies which feel beautiful & in a triangle shape so gotta wash those to use. Hoping my mum put the nappies in the dryer so I can start using them! I was worried my "fluffy mail" would arrive yesterday seeing as I wasn't here & DH would check mail when we both got home! I hope they arrive soon! Gotta get another pack of towelling ones today I hope. Waiting to get the coloured ones! I did buy some plastic pants as so cheap to last me til the nappy party when I can buy some good quality covers.

Love this weather cos I tricked Ella into thinking it was still night time LOL. She woke at 6am for change & feed & I put her back down & she didn't even complain! She is STILL asleep! I have done a quick clean, had breakfast, done banking, checked all my emails etc etc on here so I think I will have a shower now.

Mum is coming 10-10.30am & we're going to KM then to Carindale for my pure indulgence treatments. Then tax ...

What do I need to take to get our tax done? Just Group Cert's, Medibank statement & any corro regarding FTB?

Ok really gtg now. I hope I can find some clothes! Oh & Ella has grown out of most of her winter clothes! I put her cords on the other day & she couldn't move her legs as her thighs were to fat haha :)

Have fun with ya Ergo's!

PS ...

Mel - Yes we pureed some potato (Sarah, pot is short for potato lol) and some sweet potato & put in ice trays with glad wrap over the top.

Gin - Mum showed me another 2 folds yesterday with more padding where my wet girl needs it! Lol. One is quite tricky but I'll get the hang of it I hope!

Sarah - Carrie had it right - Pot is short for Potato... ha ha..... I will keep an eye out for the ice cube trays with lids. I just put portioned amount into tupperware things - too big but all I had.... I did about 5 servings... She wasn't too fussed at first. Probably different consistency to farex and jar veg - along with different taste.. But she ate it, and thankfully - no throw up afterward. I know its good for them, and it won't stop me feeding it to her - but man does pumpkin make a bloody mess or what......

I think E's confused in the weather also - she's asleep and it's only 8.15am... Unheard of with Miss Ellery... But its all good.....

Carrie - the weather got worse here before as well... Our back doors are SO NOISY in the wind... (our bedroom has doors out to the back - hhhmmm nice!) I couldn't tell the difference between E's whinging or crying and the whistling of the wind during the night - so I was awake a fair bit... To make it worse - it wasn't her!!!! AAAGGHHH

Still don't have a plan for the day.... One of those dreary days that I have nothing planned and can't be bothered planning anything - but will be bored at home.....:banghead:

See how long she sleeps and take it from there.

Thanks for the tips on the freezing of vegies.....

Hi Ladies,
So many posts in the last week, I'm seriously struggling to keep up.

Very busy week for us. We decided to sort our mess and did a big home clean-up. It took us several days but the place feels so tidy now with everything in place and the junk gone. I was so sad though packing B's old clothes.
There are so many of them and they all so tiny and cute. Was thinking about keeping some of them in case we have another boy later on, but thought that it'd be fair for the next one to have his own new clothes...haha, more of an
excuse for mummy to go shopping again!

B has been busy too. He has found his feet and reaching for them all the time. He also has 2 teeth cutting through starting few days ago. Kind boy he didn't complaint at all, just smiled and showed-up the new pegs one morning!

We started B on baby rice on Tuesday and he absolutely loves it. We managed to take a series of pics, will let you know the link when I upload it later.

He was a bit stunned eating the first spoon, but was really excited by the second one. Looks like he's going to love his food later on.

A Q on solids ~ what vegetables your bub like most? I plan to make some purees this weekend but not sure whether to do sweet potato, potato, carrot or something else.

Sheree ~ How is A's vomitting? Hope she is ok now. I had a very scary moment last week when B suddenly vomitted, had milk out of his nose and then choke on his vomit. He just struggling to breathe. I was calling 000 on
speakerphone crying, while sitting him on my lap and hitting his back. It was just terrifying.

Poor M she must be suffering a lot. Maybe let her hang on to the dummy for the time being, so at least she has something to make her feel better. I hope you feel better soon.

Lana ~ Griff tummy looked so sore. Did you find out what cause it? Glad to hear that the salve helped.

Re. room, at the end we decided to let B have the bigger room while DH & I moved out to the other room instead. This way we could have all B's toys in his room as well and not lying about the apartment like now. Also easier on
the transition.

M2B ~ Poor Madi she's gone through a lot, isn't she? Glad to hear that she's on the mend. Sounds like she's really enjoying the childcare, which is wonderful. When are you starting work?

Gin ~ The game your DH play with Kes is sooooo sweet, you must catch it on video to show him when he's bigger! Hope you find your cat soon, you must be really worry.

Kel ~ Welcome to our group. Noah and Brendan were born on the same day! What time was Noah born?

Our boys sound very similar. B was a chucky baby too (on Karicare HA-AR for a long time til last month), loves his jolly jumper, laughed a lot, rubbing his eyes when sleepy (so so cute!) and just dropped his night feed almost the
same time as Noah did!

Sounds like Noah has a good appetite, how big is he now if you don't mind me asking? B is a big boy he's 10.1kg now. He drinks 2x250ml and 2x200ml per day plus farex in the last 2 days. We'll be introducing pear on Friday.

Emma ~ How is your toe? You must be a HUGE fan of Anthony Callea watching him so many times. I met him once at Melbourne airport, he's so cute and tiny.

Sarah ~ That's sounds promising re. Mike, all the best! Where does your sister live, is it somewhere near the city? Maybe we can meet at last.

Re. constipation, poor little Lynn just had one too. Her mom stopped the farex and gave her stewed pear twice a day which worked like a treat. Iris is such a trooper for not complaining at all re. vomit. Hope she's feeling ok? You & Iris looks so comfy with the new ergo. And Iris is so tall now.

Mel ~ Sounds like you had a great day yesterday. The weather sounds scary, it maybe best to stay indoor and warm,
esp. with the ham & pea soup...yum!

Carrie ~ The cheese thingy sounds divine and simple to make, I might try it out sometimes. Not a big cook here, so unless it's a really easy one it's no go..haha! Good on you to bring homemade food to MG. We don't get any of those in my MG, would you consider moving to Sydney?

Aw...what a cute new ava you have. Are you going to convert to MCN full-time now, or will it be just for going out/night-time? I heard they can hold much more than disposables, but I'm too lazy to use one.

LL & LT ~ Yay for the smart Harper and Monty rolling!

LL ~ Have a great night tonight. CDC is great! We went to see Alegria & Quidam and enjoyed them very much. I still play the Allegria CD once in a while, the songs are so festive.

LT ~ Love Frog & Monty photo, they look so sweet together. And well done for convincing Frog to have another one. DH & I are talking about another one quite often now, but since we don't have any relative nearby we'll have to
figure out first how we would handle two.
Sounds like the nappy business is on full-swing now. How will you get the supplier in China to make them? Will you go there and teach them how to do it or can they do it via product samples?

B thinks DH is hillarious too and always laughed a lot when with him. But he loves mommy more for cuddles, esp. when sleepy. Maybe he already learned that mommy let him get away with more things :p

Anna ~ Wow...you really back to work full-swing now, good on you.

Fathers Day ~ I plan to get DH a coffee mug with "I Love Dad" on it and a story book about daddy & his boy. He'll be overseas for work though on the day so we'll celebrate when he gets back.

Sunny day here, so better go out for a walk. Have a great day girls!

Ok! Worked out what to get Frog for his first fathers day from Monty. Frog is REALLy hard to buy for.

he loves playing a WW2 fighter pilot computer game and I mentioned a year ago there is a headset you can buy where it detects the movement of your head instead of having to use a joy stick. .. Not sure how that will work if toadlet is sitting on his lap.. CRASH LANDING EJECT EJECT!!

It's $300 but my Visa is wiped clear and I know he'll love it.

When ever he plays it he says "I'm shooting down toads .... no no no , I mean protecting the toad way of life".

Hi Tazzy and B'sMum.

BTW... when is Fathers day?

FINALLY! HARPER ROLLED!!

YAY Harper!

Does anyone elses baby prefer Daddy?

Toadlet loves is daddy to peices and is always laughing at him and smiling at him, makes me feel a little jealous. I know he oves his mummy but half the time he's too busy looking around to be looking at me. :(

I don't think A has a preference, how ever because it is ME who spends 90% of the time with A, when he gets daddy cuddles he seems to love it and giggle etc a lot. I too get a little jealous, and sometimes daddy is like i think mummy wants you now (no i don't lol) he gets all sadish. (That happens when daddy is bored with cuddles LOL).

Well... nothing like a giant poo to turn a grizly toad into a giggly toad.

AND!!! Toaldet just did his first tumy to back roll too!
So proud :)

YAY Toadlet!!

LT - I Pm'd you with my email addy if you still want to send some samples thru.

Girls asking about solids, A is eating Pumpkin, Potato, Sweet Potato, Cauliflower, Apple, Pear, Banana, Corn, Carrot. Oh and he had a teeny weeny incy bitty bit of cheese the other day with his veg. No probs.

I make up big batches chuck it in icecube trays and when frozen transfer to freezer bags, then i just grab what i want to give him before i go to bed so it defrost's over night, and i heat it up in his bowl in boiling water (that is because i dont have a micro , don't like em) but so easy and only takes me about an hour of a weeked to make it all. Then i don't have to worry about it for a few weeks.

Oh and frozen fruit and veg keeps for 6 weeks in the freezer.

I am going to start him on meats next week. YAY!

Anyway hope that helps?

Oh and one more little tip, when cooking pumpkin, carrot and sweet potato add a knob of UNSALTED butter, as it helps those veges retain there goodness and use only enuf water to just cover them, and use the cooking liquid to puree it.

A is having fun he rolls all over the house LOL.

Sarah - Hehehe O looks really cute in that! How did Mike find it? Did it strain his back at all or was it still comfy?
I will scan that pattern for you today too! I havent forgotten just havent had time lol

Jenny - You can come and do a big clean out of my house if you like! Actually, its more just DP's stuff... and the fact that i have boxes of Amity's clothes that are too small for her now. If my sister has a girl is having a girl i will give them all to her, otherwise i think i will just give them to good sammy's or a womens refuge.

No, we havent worked out what causes his eczema yet but i have changed washing powders so hopefully that will make a difference too.

hi ladies
oh i am so tired. Harper woke up about 5 times last night, i even tried sending Al in there so he couldnt smell milk but he just cried til i fed him then back to sleep for 1-2 hours then same thing!! he wouldnt take his bottle when we were out at cirque du soleil so maybe he was trying to catch up on feeds? i dunno but i am very very tired now. and we just went for about an hours walk...

my cat has diabetes  i feel so annoyed with him, you know? i know its not his fault but its so expensive!! i have thought about the "other option" but i couldnt do it to him. we've got 3 months insulin so we'll see what its like. he has to have injections 2x/day plus special food. its actually the food that costs heaps!! bl00dy sicko geriatric old man cat. sighhhhhhhhhhh.

anyway, sorry for the purely selfish :ecomcity: post today, i am too tired to reply lol.
gonna lay on the sofa and watch ready steady cook. will come back and read everyones posts properly later.
sorry!

Hey girls

Quick one as I have to get Sam up.

LL, sorry to hear you had a rough night. Our old cat had diabetes too. Lived to a right old age. Very expensive.
LT, that sounds like a great pressie! DH "saves the universe" now and again and he too is sooo hard to buy for. Thinking about a pocket knife or something. Who knows. Will have to shop next week.

Oh crud. Forgotten everything else.

Solids - Leah is going ok. Haven't done the whole fresh cooked stuff. Shes a heinz girl at the moment LOL. Have only tried her on rice cereal, sweet golden vege and apple and mango (which she is not particularly fond of I might add). Shes doing ok on it.

We had a lovely afternoon the two of us. We spent an hour lying on the floor laughing at each other. Very nice to do. Shes so ticklish and anticipates whats coming now.

Anyway, little man wont sleep tonight if I leave him any longer.

BsMum - sounds like things are going well your end. Good Work with the house clean... I need to do that - but the thought just bores me.. ha ha.... Good on you though - the place would feel brand new.....

Sarah - the room looks great with the letters. Love the pic too!

Michaela - sorry to hear about the puddy-tat... I know that any kind of medication for pets is horrendeously expensive - so hope you go ok with it all.....
Sounds like you had a Barry Crocker of a night too. You poor thing - you would be completely worn out, with lack of sleep and continual feeding. Hope tonights much better for you....

Hollie - glad you've worked out what to get for Fathers Day - I have NO IDEA... Very sad isn't it.... DP's just so damn hard to buy for. I wracked my brain for his birthday (July) and i have no ideas left... It's so annoying... aaagghhhh :banghead:

I went to the shops again - got completely bored at home. Had to put DP's watch in to be fixed (that was annoying as well, was only a xmas gift - and not a cheap on at that) but it hasn't returned yet (even though it was due to be back some 2 weeks ago!).... E was good whilst out and about.....
She's been a bit of a poo this afternoon - not wanting to nap at all... It is still really dreary here and the winds still around - although not as bad..... It is quite cold though....

I've been trying to entice Ellery to roll.... Doing as suggested and tucking her elbow in... I did it with her a few times - then she sort of rolled, sort of fell, from her tummy to her back.. ha ha.. One day I'll be able to say 'SHEs DONE IT AGAIN!" yeah....... But not just yet....

Thanks for the tips with the ice-cube trays. I'll get some when I am near a Big W... I don't live near one - they're at opposite ends of the coast, but I'll drive there one day and get organised. E seems to be liking the pump/pot mix... I'll make up some other combinations as well - some greens in there too. I will also stew up some pear and apple maybe... DP is amazed when i do things like that, as he's the cook in the household.. ha ha.....

Well, have babbled on enough for now.:ecomcity: Have a good night everyone!

I just peaked at the pic of O and daddy in the Ergo too. Smiley O!

Glad you got the samples. A lady (toadlets adopted nanna) works at a chemist and she gives them to me.
My Dad used to get me massive amounts of Viagra samples when he was a doctor over here.

2 weeks 3 days till my Daddy comes over!!

Annsam, lucky to have a giggly little girl. I love it when toadlet giggles at me.

Good that your DH only saves the Universe occasionally. I hear about so many bubhub mums being computer game widows, but I think thats the younger mummies.
Frog shoots down toads (and toadlets) when I'm not using the computer a coule of times a week.

Michaela - How was Cirque Du Soleil? I bet it was great!

Anna - Glad you and Leah enjoyed your quality time together. I love babies' giggles, they are the best!

Mel - That is how i would cook the apples. I would add just a little bit of water and cook it down until they are really soft and then keep what little water is left and puree it

OK - Dumb question

How do you stew pear and apple (and do you use granny smith apples). Do you just put it in a saucepan with a bit of water and cook it up. Then puree it like vegies????

You will need a table spoon or two of water (2 pear or apples) . As they are both generaly quite juicy you dont need a lot of water

I just peel, core and chop them put in saucepan and cover with lid, simmer gently they both take about 8 mins until soft and then just puree adding a little of the water/juice you cooked them in to make the consistency you want.

P.S Use a sweeter variety of apple, as Granny Smiths are too acidic/tart

Jenny, A is fine now. how scary for you with brendans spewing. i wouldve freaked out too! im so paranoid when it comes to choking..
sounds like B loves his food! i havent bothered trying again with A, will wait till next week, she'll be 6months on tuesday..

Jenny~ can I just say you deserve an award for most diligent march mummy:yelclap: You always take the time to post personals (which is not always easy to do BUT much appreciated)
Just wanted to say I love reading your posts you always sound so thoughtful and positive:)

:yelclap: i agree!

Sarah... Frog only ever tried half without telling me to see if I noticed.

 too personal to ask if you noticed?

photo bucket is down.. i havent seen any pics yet.. i really wanna see Orlando in the ergo lol.

thanx heaps lana, i rang the number from the website and they stock the black/cranberry. $162 delivered.. so now its whether to get that or spend $145 for a different colour with free baby legs lol.
sarah when you say the colours are bolder do you mean darker? so the cranberry will be a darker reddish colour do you think?? im thinking of getting the black/cranberry, will order tomorrow either way.. really to spend $145 whats another 17 haha

dropped hospital admission forms off this afternoon. no turning back now.. oh they're not sure if A can stay there too so if she cant my mum will stay with M overnight. seeing tho A wont take a bottle..

Yeah but the actual price of the Ergo from that website is only $149. You will have to add postage to that other one anyway (or do they offer free delivery?)

I cant believe they might not let you take A with you... Its not like she takes up much room or anything!

Well i FINALLY folded all my towels and sheets that have been sitting there for a couple of weeks while the pile just kept getting bigger. I do feel a lot better now though. Still have all the clean clothes to fold now too though. (as you have probably already guessed, folding washing is not one of my favourite things)

cirque du soleil was amazing, its hard to believe they are actual human bodies, the things they can do! and so lean, pure muscle, i would love a body like that.

Jenny wow B loves his food. Harper doesnt seem to swallow hardly any! i think we might wait another week or two then start over, he's not that interested really.

Sheree i wanted the free babylegs too!! :D but if you love the cranberry and black then get it, coz you will regret it otherwise and wish you'd got the one you wanted.

Sarah i love the butterflies and letters. and the ergo looks great. i am so cut mine isnt here yet. it was sent on monday so if it doesnt come tomorrow i will be very upset.

fathers day - well, i'm not going to say what Harps got Al coz he's sitting next to me! but didnt spend too much coz we are MEANT to be saving and he tells me off for buying stuff for Harper all the time and going down the shops for coffee

Sheree - with regard to the hospital not letting A stay, maybe its due to all the germs possibly - and being a well baby?? I'm not sure, I know it would make things alot easier for you if she were able to go though....

Sarah - I think the letters in Iris' room look great too! I like the colour....

Michaela - glad you had a great time at Cirque DSol - I actually saw one of them when i went overseas - about 6 years ago. It was in Las Vegas - so bigger than Ben Hur. I also have seen a few of them in Brisbane.... They're just amazing what they do!
I wouldn't survive if I didn't go to the shops and have a coffee. Gets me out of the house. I know i could save $$'s too, but I would honestly turn into a loopy if i didn't do that... So, I say "GO THE COFFEE"... lol

Lana - glad you got the washing folded. Not one of my favourite jobs - but I hate the vacuuming more!!!! I have loads of washing sitting there to be done - waiting for clearer weather but DP and I are running out of clothes. Manage to hang E's in the house and they dry in the breeze - but might have to do some undies and stuff for us adults soon. I am waiting for DP to start complaining- as he might have to wear undies that he says crush his 'man bits'... ha ha ha I say - at least he has some to wear!

The weather still sux here. Not as windy - thankfully, but still wet and a little blowy at times. I just took E for a small walk to the local. Had a coffee and treated myself to a bacon and egg roll - YUMMY. She's sitting here next to me in her pram still..... Getting a little annoyed with me i think.
Will keep moving and go and try and put her down.

Great pics Mel!

LL.. how is it having your DH home?
Did you get some practicing in for #2?

Verty happy! I've been searching around for somewhere for my dad to stay nearby. I found a cool lodge that is only $300 a week. Big studio room and nice kitchenette area and shower. They only had 3 rooms and you can't book. I checked last week and 2 of them now had long term people in. Checked last night and one of the rooms someone is leaving next week, a week before my dad comes.
So I told them if anyone else wants it in the week before my Dad arrives tell them it's booked out and I'll pay for that week too.
So it's mine! One less thing to worry about.
All the other places I looked at were absolute hovels. One for $520 a week was a dive, old smelly and tiny.

The guy running the place has a 3.5 month old and was launching into a bgi speel about what his sons name meant "Isiah : light of god, shining light of god etc etc blagh blagh".
he asked me what Monty meant... I said "Monty stands for: I am a toad".

I took A in the backyard on my hip just now, and its quite windy (but nice day 20 i think) and every time the wind blew in his face he laughed.. crazy child.

He also dissapeared this morning, i had turned my back for all of 2 mins and he had rolled into our room and under the bed- cheeky monkey. (Our room opens into lounge). He is now called speedy.

It also appears that as well as his two bottom teeth (which are almost fully out, nice set of pearly whites there - will take a pic when they have stopped) he is also getting his bottom eye (i think they are called) teeth.

He was in a lot of pain last night and i have never seen his cheeks so red. I am sure he has a stash of vegemite in his room somewhere ha ha.

Boy he is growing up too fast!! :crying:

Anyway must go, sunny and windy = perfect day for washing - Ugh! LOL

Hey - thanks for the lovely compliments everyone :) - both on Ellery and myself! I forgot that the Professional photos were in the background - came up pretty well eh!! And, just so that you know - they weren't air-brushed or anything. ha ha..... I wanted to look like me - but not every day do I look that nice, I assure you.. lol The pink & white giraffe is one of her fav toys- his name is GG. (quite orignal.. ha ha)

Vicki - A is growing fast hey! Ellery's still contemplating the roll thing.. Not interested (too lazy..) and her teeth are moving alot - but not poking through just yet....

E's in the lounge with Dad at the moment having a bottle. Then we're to have some solids (I cooked up some apples & pears!) so hoping she likes them. Then we're off to Harvey Norman - thought we had to get a new router, so did that last weekend (god they're dear for what they are) go home, and it was the chord - not the router. So DP found a spare lying around that fits - so we can return the new one now. YEAH! So, might battle the wind and rain and get out of the house.. Have a coffee and potter about.....

My MIL arrives later this afternoon. Should be fine (I hope!)... She's travelling Australia, so don't see her much... Haven't seen her since E was 2 weeks old - so she'll see a HUGE difference in her. I send alot of pics though to keep her up to date.

Hi everyone just a quickie ... don't have time to read but hopefully I'll be able to get on tomorrow after I've finished babysitting my lovely niece.

Weather still cold, windy & rainy, hoping it clears up for next week cos have 2 picnics down the Point & going to a bbq on Sunday.

KM & my massages were good yesterday, massages only took half hour for both!

Got some lovely prof pics taken of Ella yesterday, 'for dh for father's day & b'day but can't pick up til 6th. He doesn't know about it. Ella laughed the whole time & didn't spew til afterwards! Yay! Of course now I'll have to order whole package lol. I ordered 2 keyrings for $10 too.

One of the MG friends came over today which was great, just grazed on choc biscuits, crackers & dip!

Used towelling all day today.

Ok gtg now.

Hi everyone, bye everyone, sorry so quick, will read & reply tomoz.

Mel - Love the pics. Ellery is a doll. Is it just my imagination or does she have your eyes and nose?

Sheree - Yeah i hate it when they havent processed your purchase yet. i only use mine for online purchases though so i only transfer over what i need.

TRU suck like that hey. Amity has that Dora laptop. She loves it! Hopefully they will still have some left when you get there tomorrow.

Carrie - Glad you had a good day. HOW did the toweling nappies go?

Vicki - You have a little houdini on your hands lol! Griff does that sometimes but he goes under the coffee table. Poor Antonio getting more teeth. Are they the ones next to his middle bottom teeth that are coming through? or the ones next to those?

Hollie - Glad you were able to find somewhere for your dad to stay. You are certainly better of to pay the $300 for the extra week to guarantee you get it than to have him stay in a cruddy place that costs more!

Had a good day today. Went to ikea but they didnt have 2 of the 3 things i needed to get! I bought 2 new computer chairs but the arms for them were out of stock and they have run out of highchairs as well! (which i need for Griff as Amity already has one). Oh well, i will go back next month i guess.

i love going to ikea! i've only been a few times.. love the kids section.. cute cutlery & bedroom ideas & so cheap!!
frustrating they didnt have what you wanted tho!
with the ikea high chair have you seen the inserts for them for little bubs? i had contacted them months go but the perth store didnt sell them.. so far A is in her peg high chair.. only till she starts eating food properly and making a mess then that chair is only for show  the ikea ones are so easy to keep clean!!

carrie im like that too with photos.. have never said no to pixie photos yet! so i try to avoid getting them done hehe. i spend enough with the photographer that comes here! cant wait to see ellas pics! mmm biccies, crackers & dip.. sounds like a good day to me!

:D

Oh and get this i have noooooooo idea how he did this, but i left him alone in lounge again while hanging out some washing , Dp home so he keeps a check on him, anyway i come in and he is behind the couch... so what i hear you say, well let me tell you between the couch and the wall (couch is on the right as you walk in front door, in front of the lounge window) the gap is not that big... so i dunno how he got there but he did! So definately a houdini!

ETA -Oooops forgot to answer you Lana, A is getting his pointy bottom teeth as well as the two bottom front ones, so you have two front, then not next ones to those but one after.. does that even make sense? LOL Yep i'm tired

Lana - I think Ellery has my nose - i don't have a big nose, but hers is teeny weeny!!! Her eyes, well don't know where they came from! DP has brown and I have hazel - hoping hers stay blue though... She looks more like me and my side of the family - but at times, her expressions are so like her Daddy - its scary!

Sheree - I love idea, although it confuses me at times... I'm one of of these - get in and buy what i want shoppers, and Ikea isn't really designed for that.. ha ha... It is about 35 mins drive away and the new store up near brisbane is HUGE... Would love to go again soon though - might take a trip with Ellery one day and take my time.... DP will be scared though.. lol That could mean he has to put it all together!!!

AquaD - WOW, he is a little master man. Getting in behind the lounge.... Miss Ellery is yet to roll again... We try to show her so many times - she just giggles and then lies there... So cute though - just a tad lazy i think.

Well, the MIL got here fine. She had a looong trip (near 24 hours on the train) and some young lady she knows happened to be on the same train to brisbane - with a 4 month old!!! So poor Norma got lumped with babysitting duties... It would have been hard - as Norma doesn't need that. She has bad legs and having to help with a baby (that you hardly know) on a train would be difficult.... She was really tired, which i understand.. Hoping she had a good rest last night though.

It is pouring rain here again... Hope we don't get the amount of rain the north coast got - some places had 700ml in a matter of hours!!! HHMMM - if that were to happen here, I'd be in the car with Ellery and going somewhere else. We live on the water so its always a bit of a concern... About 2.5 years ago we had 450ml in 24 hours and we were thinking about getting sandbags - didn't need it, but if there was a downpour of anymore than that - it would be worrying....

So, another day indoors... (BORING) Might go for coffee of something. DP and I had a nice coffee yesterday afternoon before picking up Norma... I had an embarassing moment - went to get up and had my leg caught between the pram and the leg of the chair - so WHAM! Down on my hands in a big, dramatic roll... Great.. I was fine - but it would have looked interesting. DP just sat there as he couldn't get to me where he was.. I just got up - red faced.. Told everyone i was fine (which i was)... but man, I wanted to get out of there quickly. At least i know the owners.. ha ha

Well, need coffee...... catch up soon hey!

Ikea fan here as well I could camp out and spend days shopping in ther if they let me :D

We have the ikea antilop high chair and to be honest we never used an insert for O and it was fine on the comfy factor

BUT we only use the high chair for meal times nothing else so maybe 5-20mins max at each feed

its so easy to clean and transportable so you can take it to the rellies for christmas lunch or whatever etc etc

Lana im far from ikea homebush (the one in sydney) BUT I might be able to make the trip for you and get one....let me know either way:D

Both the kidlets are sick

O had an allergic reaction at about midnight thursday night and I didnt have any claratyne to give him so its gotten worse
I got claratyne for him BUT his still really unwell and at about 3am was burning up a fever
And coz his been sleeping in my bed with me his now given it to Iris well kinda shes now got the runny eyes and nose (no fever yet)
I just hope it doesnt go into a chest infection and hospy like last time....as its been 8mths since his last attack so his due for one, they happen every 7-9mths

ok enough from me its too early anyway

one last thing...check out urban baby and click on new at urban baby they have the sweetest baby doll called "sweetpea" and its a lil bubba in a peapod ahhhhh so cute Im getting one for iris for chrissy

Ok I am reading & replying for posts since ... early Thurs morning!

MEL - How is the weather down there? I am loving that the babies tend to sleep more in this weather. The sun keeps peeping through today & just when I think I should do some washing to hang out it rains again! Hopefully it'll clear up for a bbq we are going to tomorrow & my 2 picnics next week. How are Ellery's vegies going? With the rolling, Ella rolled a couple of times tummy to back at KM again (just not at home!) and everytime she was laying on her back she was rolling to the side with her feet in the air! Why doesn't she do this at home? Lol. Show off!

JENNY - Hi! Sounds like B is growing up quickly! I also have packed E's little 000 clothes away in her cupboard but I am keeping them for #2! If we don't have another girl, Ella can use for her dolls, lol. Do you wanna come & clean out our house? You're welcome anytime ;)

With the vegies, try a white one first (ie potato) for 3 days, then orange (eg pumpkin/sweet pot/carrot) then green (nurse suggested brocoli & zucchini - sp? - together). Does he enjoy fruit? I have prepared some frozen vegies but not given them to her yet.

Re nappies - we are using towelling at home atm as still waiting for the 3 pocket nappies / mcn's I ordered (& Dh doesn't know about lol). I am not gonna just purchase everything at once as can't afford to but maybe by 3 every few weeks or something like that & gradually build up my supply. Oh, & I never cook lol so simple recipes are gr8! DH is the cook lol.

LT & TAZZIE - Father's day is the 2nd!!! I'm getting dh that Kisses for Daddy book & his keyring & our pics are coming later that week ... & he will get prob shoes 2 days later cos it's his b'day. LT, that headset sounds interesting, I have never seen that before! I wanna Nintendo WII!!! But when I tell dh he says no? WT? Just cos he doesn't want one I don't care do I! Usually it is a PS2 game! Boys & there computer games ... I dunno ...

SARAH - Yes, I am worried about Caithi too ... I hope she is okay hey. What sort of tee are you getting Mike? That was another idea I had a while back - one for each of them saying I'm with him/her or 'if you think I'm cute you should see my daddy/daughter'. How are the kidlets? Poor things ... what does O react too?

LL - I hope Harper has gone back to his normal sleeping routine! And how is the geriatric cat? Poor thing! How old is he? Thanks for all your emails too, you are a big help! xo CDS sounds amazing, I would absolutely love to go. Were you allowed to take any photos?

ANNA - Sounds like a lovely afternoon you & Leah shared the other day! How is her 'perfoming' coming along?

IDEA - How about we all post a photo of mums & bubs & one of the computer genius's (Hollie?) can photoshop them together so it looks like a group shot? Am I mad? I am interested to put mums & bubs together & put faces to names whom I haven't seen before ... Mel ...

HOLLIE - Why would you need Viagra?? Hehe ... Oh just saw your next couple of posts! We used to call Dave Mr Frog in high school cos of a 'sexual' reason ... rhymes with sprog HAHA hint hint. Maybe that's what Frogs do best lol. What is this special soap?

That place you found for your dad sounds ideal! Good job. I like the meaning of Monty Toad's name!!
LANA - Amity is gorgeous lol ... have you finished her scarf? I bet it will be lovely. I know what you mean about the teeth! Ella actually hurts when she chomps on me as her gums are so hard & lumpy & I can see them but they haven't actually come through yet. Has Griffin got any now? (Seeing as you posted about this a couple of days ago lol).

The Towelling nappies are fine ... she is a very wet chicken though even with the extra padded fold! Can't wait for the mcn's! Will use them for going out though & sposies til I get more mcn's. And Shezi, no I don't use them at night. She barely gets 2-3 hours out of them let alone 12-14!

SHEZI - Gosh I can't believe A is 6 mths on Tues!!! Hasn't it gone so fast?! Some of the pics were in a wooden create with beautiful teddies (luckily I'd put a nicer shirt in her nappy bag!) and the other was topless (lol) and on her tummy lying on towels, with a towel on her head, a rubber duck, 2 different hats. I can't believe how much she laughed when she was so tired. She never smiles when I get the camera out!

Speaking of Visa's ... I checked my cc balance this morning & only $900 left!!!! OMG!!! (Out of $5,500!). Woops ... I sh!t myself hey. At least yours is your money :)

Oh that reminds me, with the tax I am getting just over $1600 back, plus maybe another $1-200 as I underestimated for Family Tax by $2000-ish plus whatever i get out of the $643 per child. What did everyone else get out of the $643 per child?

AD - Wow! Antonio is a mover & shaker! Lol. I suppose the up-side of having a non-rolling child is I can plonk her down & do housework/go to the toilet etc & know she'll still be there when I get back! Haha.

Hope that is everyone & haven't missed anyone out!

Update on ELLA - She now reaches out to grab my nose, hair, lips, necklace, hair ... on purpose!!! Her little nails bl00dy hurt too! She is a cheeky chops. She thinks it's friggin hilarious. Loves noses the best!

Sarah that quilt is amazing!
tell youe mummy she's brilliant.

Frog just went in to wake toadlet up and even with the SafeT sleep thing around his waste he rolled over onto his tummy and must have slept like that cause is his sheet was wet from dribble.

Is it ok for them to sleep on their tummies at 5.5 months
He didn't even grizzle!

Did my tax today... I still owe about $6 - 7k.
Not sure if I get a payment for toadlet, I think my income is too high.

i still have t do my BAS for the whole year, I'll go to the accountant and ask him to show me how to do it.

Carrie I bet your excited about your MCN's!

Toadlet was a bit of a turd yesterday and being naughty when I was feeding him so I put some food on his spoon and flicked it at his forehead!! Perfect Aim! SPLATT. I'm such a bad mummy.

He's been better today with his sleeps but still a bit whiney.

... speaking of which, better bath my "lovely child"

Hollie - Although they say it is best to sleep them on their backs, basically once they can roll it is fine for them to sleep on their tummy... Bit hard to stop them really! (as you have found out lol)

 Food Fight!!! I think everyone gets the $600per child one (although i could be wrong)

Sarah - Poor O and Iris... Hope they are ok now. LOVE the quilt! Tell you mum i think its awesome! I always wanted one when i was little!

Carrie - its so sweet when they get to that age and start to really 'investigate' your face hey. I love it when Griff does it, makes me feel very special.

Vicki - Poor A! They eye teeth are very painful!

love the quilt sarah!

carrie i guess thats a huge oops re the visa lol. i hate owing money.. but dp has enough debt for the both of us:rolleyes:

lmao hollie i can just imagine what poor monty was thinking haha

went looking at outdoor settings today.. the ones i like(6seater with cushiony seats) are upwards from $650.. then delivery is $40. i was thinking $550 max. i do have enough to cover it but i have more things i wanna do that shell out that amount for an outdoor setting..
im pretty sure the one i had ages ago that they took back to HN was only $700 and thats the best i've seen so far..

oh and carrie A does the whole 'grabbing at ya' thing too. its cute hey!

speaking of A she was a monster last night, wouldnt sleep unless she had my boob in her mouth!!then i'd have to get it out without waking her. i am officially being used as a dummy..

hey chicks, must be quick, people coming over.

Harper hasnt done a proper poo since tues!! he usually does a couple per day. he is so grouchy all day and i don't know how to make him poo! i gave him some pear yesterday and pear+farex today (was prob the farex that caused it, i think). i feel so bad for him plus i am getting really fed up with his constant whingeing. cycling his legs and tummy rubs don't help. poor little boy...

Hollie as Lana said, once they can roll onto their tummies, you can't really stop them sleeping that way. my cousin used to scrunch up in the corner of his cot like a little snail.

Sarah beautiful quilt!

Carrie great work with the terry nappies, how often do they need changing? oh and my cat is nearly 12, so not really old but not young. the needles are ok to give but the special food STINKS

sorry i don't have time to reply to everyone, hope you QLD MUMS are ok with those crazy storms.

ok i better go. got to give the cat his needle and food. *SIGH*

Hey Ladies,

My laptop has been playing up so haven't been able to log on the last few days.....

Mel the pics are gorgeous, I love the canvas pics in the background too! Very cute! Hope you are ok after your fall. If it makes you feel better, I have done that too and I wanted to run away and hide, so funny afterwards though.

Mel and Carrie, the bad weather has gone now, back to sunshine. I missed the rain though and the dark mornings. Madi slept so well through it.

AD, I hope it's not too painful for A teething. Poor bubba!! Madi hasn't started yet. Are you using anything to soothe them?

LT, you are so funny! I love the meaning of 'Monty', you are too funny!

Sarah, your mum is very talented, it's beautiful!

Madi has been eating so much, she has put on about 1kg this week. I can't keep up with her, she just ate a jar and a half of veges for dinner. Think it's a growth spurt, she's so chubby!

Do you think it's ok to start Madi on custards even though she's not quiet 6 months yet and the jars say 6 months? anyone else done this?

Hope everyone is well, sorry I haven't replied to all posts

Hi ladies,
I just want to say goodbye and good luck with all your bubbies. I'm finding really hard to keep up with you all. I feel you all have such a strong relationship with each other and I feel like i'm not really fitting in. I read all your threads everyday but I just don't know what to say back, especially something that hasn't already been said...From what I see from your photo's all your bubs are very cute and I hope everything in the future goes well. I will pop in every now and then just to see how all your bubs are doing and I might even say hello. I'll still be around bubhub so I will see you all around the threads. Also thanks to the ladies who did make an effort to talk with me and make me feel welcome...Best wishes Kellie :)

hmm thats where we went today.. how long ago did you buy it? sounds perfect!! oh and did you mean $500 or something 50? hehe

Kel i hope you do come back and chat, we all find it hard to keep up at times so i can imagine how hard you would be finding it!! i wish you all the best with elijah & noah. take care.

i think A is very close to rolling again. we're going to try her on solids once she's 6months.. thing is i think she still has the tongue reflex thingy.. oh and her eczema has gotten worse so i cant put her in singlets or anything that is even a little bit tight.. she's getting her 6month needles tuesday so will get it checked then.

speaking of needles is anyone not getting them done? i saw a thread on "non vaxers" and some of the things they were saying really freaked me out! i had never looked into it before. i just assumed it was the thing to do.

Nic i had M on custards at 4months :o hehe she loved them! and the strawberry ones too which i later found out shouldnt be given till later on.. oops.. it was her fave lol

Jenny-that would have been so scary seeing B like that, glad to hear he's OK! Yes I'm pretty worried about him, I figure it's one of two things; either the dopey thing has got himself hurt (he is really not that good at taking care of himself) or has found a new home! I really wouldn't be surprised if he had been 'adopted' by someone, he is very cute, see (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/Edmund1/Edsatisfied.jpg)?
B sounds like a brave little man with those teeth! What a champ! I am amazed that we are Mothers to babies old enough to have teeth, it all seems so surreal!
Yes, I should video him with his Dad, they are such a pair.

Hiya Taryn!

Hollie, sounds like a great present for Frog! DH used to save the universe all the time, luckily he reserves it for 'occasional' times now Kes is around, which suits me quite well! That's so cool that your Dad is almost here, you're going to have so much fun!!! Awesome sounding accomodation.
As for the tummy sleeping, (once a toadlet gets going, he goes for broke eh? LOL) I imagine like the others say, that if he can roll himself back he'd be fine. I too have been having a real laugh at your definition of Monty... did he look surprised?

Nic-On our walk the end is a huge steep hill... I am always so puffed after that! LOL, I even stop talking for 5 or so seconds!!! *shock horror*
I am used to lots walking, Mum and I are shocking for going wandering. We met up in the city yesterday around midday for a walk around the shops and I didn't get home till nearly 8pm. My feet are a little sore, hehe
I think Madi sounds so precious with her daycare antics, it must be so great when you go to pick her up hearing how much she is getting out of it!

Shezi, great to hear that M is booked in (if you know what I mean), it will be such a relief afterwards. Shame that you and A aren't allowed to stay over, maybe it's a legal thing, to do with liability for A?
I've been reading your ergo saga with baited breath, "did she get the cranberry, didn't she? Which deal is better" ROFL, I got to today's posts and was dissapointed not to hear a result... I'm sooo sad!
Hey, I have AF style pains too, for around a week now... could it just be everything going back in to place?

Mel-you are a beautiful pair! THanks for sharing your gorgeous photos with us. I am amazed that Ellery has actually worn out clothes!!! I always laughed at KMarts "if they outwear it, we'll replace it" guarantee as I figured babies didn't do enough to wear anything out! Hehe, maybe I've just got a static blob of a baby! ;)
How's the MIL's visit going so far?

Carrie-glad you got my PM, hope it was helpful! It sounds like the towelling are going well, what folds are you having the most success with? If you want a little extra time out of them, remember you can just chuck a face washer in there for a boost! I'm looking forward to hearing how you go with the MCN when they arrive. I have 1 BBB which I just love, I am always desperately trying to get it dry before an outing, LOL
I had a look at your album last night, Ella is such a sweety pie, I love the pics of her with her bunny!!!

Lana- any further clues as to poor Griff's eczema triggers?
I think I stumbled across the pattern for your bear the other day, you're quite the knitter my girl! I tried to figure it out and my brain went and cried in the corner... I'll just admire yours for now I think! hehe
How's the scarf coming along?

Hi there Anna! Great to hear about your nice afternoon chilling and laughing with your girl, that's lovely.

Sarah-O looks so cute in the ergo!
I love those letters and the butterflies too, not too big, just right for impact I think!
:hugs: Poor O, I hope he's getting better, and not having an attack. I guess Iris might benefit from being exposed early? Kind of like how they say that being exposed to pets early helps prevent allergies, maybe O will help boost her immunity? Hope so.
I'm amazed at that quilt, what a lot of love and work! Can I ask, what has she backed it with? (I have the components of a quilt for Kes, but no idea what to do with them...)

Michaela-I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, that's so horrible. And no fun that it is expensive and smelly to deal with too! THe things we do for our pets eh?
DH is still convinced our cat is being kept indoors somewhere, and that the second they let him out he'll come home. I hope so. I had a nasty dream that DH was saying "he's dead isn't he? do you think he's dead?" I woke up and yelled at him, oops :o LOL

AD-Antonio must be pretty brave too, all those teeth!!! I love your Vegemite comment, hehe, so cute!
I'm amazed at his Houdini impersonations too, does he pull himself along or something? There is a sweet little girl at MG who slides around like a dart, she cracks me up!

Kellie-as you can see, I hardly ever post, I get swamped with the replies, it is a bit hard to keep up!
I'd love to have you around though, maybe for a while just reply to particular posts of interest and let us know how your boys are, and you'll get more used to us? I only urge you to stay because in times of trouble it is so good to have this thread to rely on, always someone here who cares! :hugs:

I spent today making my brother's birthday cake, I'll have to take a pic or two (very proud), it's a chocolate frenzy, pretty slapdash but fun all the same!

oh and by the way.. i must say its nice to feel loved

i cant remember who it was that sms'd Caithi a while back but did ya get a reply?? :fingerscrossed: we hear from her soon.

went to playzone today for dps nephews birthday.. then after went to his sisters coz i had bought him a spiderman cake but they didnt cut it at the party.. the cut the icecream one.. anyway so we went to get the girls some cake.. as we were leaving M needed go to the toilet so i took her while dp and his sis put the two little ones in the car.. in their house you walk through the laundry to the toilet so when i opened the door to the laundry there were 3 guys(dps sis's boyfriend and 2 mates) who turned around real quick.. they were around the sink.. i said just taking M to the loo but dps sisters boyfriend said it was blocked so i said ok and we left. thing is i smelt dope. and it made me angry.. i know its not my house so i cant control what goes on but my kids were there.. i dunno maybe im reading into it too much but i just dont think thats what you do.

im biased. i hate drugs. HATE drugs.. i have seen too many lives ruined. i've never touched anything and it'll stay that way.

i said to dp that i dont think i'll be going back there anytime soon. i dont judge people but what irks me is that dps mum paid for his nephews party coz dps sis & boyfriend didnt have the money.. but yet he has money for drugs and smokes..

anyway enough of my whinge..

Sheree - Oh dear. Griffin started to use me as a dummy too. It gets very frustrating hey. OMG! I dont blame you for being upset and angry with your SIL boyfriend, i would have been fuming! And as you said, especially because your MIL paid for your nephews party!

Kellie - Aww dont go! We all know how hard it is to keep up with all the posts! Just do what Bluegin said, come on every couple of days and just post about some topics and let us all know how you are all going. We would hate for you to leave!

Hollie - Where is the love!?

Nic - Madi isnt that far away from 6 months anyway so i would just give it to her. My only suggestion would be to keep a close eye on her in case of any reaction.

Michaela - $50 for an 8 seater outdoor setting!? Are you serious?

Gin - I hope you cat returns home soon. Its amazing how cats are able to con their ways into other peoples homes though, so i be that is what he has done.

Guess what you lovely Syndey and Melbourne ladies.... I MIGHT be coming over there soon. Sam has been offered a commissioning job in Melbourne once his current job has finished (on the new rail system here in perth). It will go for 2 months and it is basically just checking everything is done correctly etc BUT it means that he will be away for at least 8 weeks in one go. So if it all goes ahead i might be going to sydney for 1 week to see my aunty (and you sydney gals) and then heading to Melbourne for a couple of weeks to see Sam (and you melbourne chicks)! Cool hey!

Oh and Sheree it was me that messaged Caithi but i never got a reply. She did come on a few days after i messaged her though...

Good morning everybody ... it's nice & sunny here, not hot, not cold ... just right! Perfect weather to wash sheets & go to this bbq today by the river ...

AD - I am not sure ... did you underestimate your income?

LT - Yes I am def looking fwd to my mcn's!! Hope they come tomorrow ... do you know how long it usually takes to receive online shopping? I am an online shopping virgin, lol. You crack me up - splatting food on the rodent's forehead! HAHA. I bet he just laughed! Careful what you teach him cos it won't be long before he can get you back ;)

Lana & Shezi - Yes it is adorable when they investigate your face! I need to cut her nails though as it hurts sometimes! She pinches quite hard & digs her nails in! She has also grabbed my boobies a couple of times - a big handful - OW!

LL - Did the pear help H do a poo?

Oh & with the nappies about every 2 hours ... give or take depending how wet she is that day.

That is so cheap ($50!) for the outdoor setting! Where is that from? I want one that sounds like what Shezi is describing with the glass table & high back cushiony chairs.

Nic - Hello! Sounds like Miss Madi is thriving! You may be able to get the custards in the 4-6mth range of food? I'm not sure. I don't know I will start Ella on custard, keep her eating the fruit, vegies & starting on meat before that, if I want to give her some sweet food I might give her some natural yoghurt. Are you working on Wed? I forgot to email you about Thursday MG's. Well we are having a picnic at the Point this Thursday & bringing our own lunch if you would like to come & see us. I haven't seen you for 3 months!! So much for our getting together every couple of weeks lol.

KELLIE! You don't have to go anywhere!! I love reading your posts, and yes, we do have a strong relationship but that is because we have been chatting for months and I am sure you will feel more comfortable soon. I didn't join until January this yr & everyone else had been chatting since falling prg or some even when TTC. I have to admit I don't really go in any other threads though ... lol, as you said it is hard enough to keep up with this one. Make sure to check in every couple of days & even just do a 'me post' or if you ever need a support network these are the best mummies for it! Awww ... getting all mushy about my march mummas again! xo

LT - We saw what you wrote about us!! Grr ... tickle tickle

GIN - Gorgeous cat! What's his name? The fold I am doing is one my mum showed me (which I think she did for my bro's since boys are a lot wetter than girls) with the extra padding ... I dunno how to explain it ... basically you fold in half, half again, pull the corner out so it's a straight line along the top, and an angle down one side, flip over, fold the middle bit in thirds ... The other fold I have been taught is a kite fold, another is a twist one (mum again!) which is supposed to be better when toddling around. I have only really tried out the first one seeing as it seemed to work for us (& I folded 16 of them complete with liners so I can just grab them!). Alternating with sposies so prob wearing 3 towelling a day so not much washing! Can't believe mum was complaining how much work they are as I keep a soaking bucket next to the change table which I put napisan & hot water in, in the morning & put the lid on &just put them in there & then put them in the machine for a rinse then put them on a full cycle with washing powder, napisan & cuddly. Can't wait to get the dryer so I can chuck them in there to make them all beautiful & soft! Still not gonna use when out, although might if it is just going to MG or something, might wait for the MCN's though ...

Thanks for the comments on her album - I haven't been able to put recent pics on for a couple of months since photobucket seems to crash my computer atm! Any volunteers to have her pics emailed to them & put up for me?? Lol.

SHEZI - I HATE THEM TOO!!! Esp dope ... as you, I have seen so many lives ruined by it & some particularly close to home. I hate it with a passion. I totally agree with you, did you mention it to dp's sis? Or do you think she does it too?

LANA - Come to Brisbane too!

Ok I have to get going & have a shower before E wakes up so we can get ready & leave on time! Have a beautiful Sunday everyone!

lana where's the nearest cotton on to you? im pretty sure there isnt one in mandurah.

lana i just ordered the pink and cream baby legs. and got D a plane puzzle. she's obsessed with planes lol.

Shezi, you have every right to be mad! What a bunch of tools, I'd be angry too.
My cat's name is Edmund, he is such a funny cat. From the day we brought him home he climbed up us and sat on our head or shoulders, so he was named after the famous Sir Edmund Hilary!
He has been gone 2 1/2 weeks.
Let's hope that last site Hollie put up works for you, the cranberry one sounds so pretty!

ooh Lana, that would be so fun! I'd love to meet up and show you a bit of the town (all the boring Mummy bits anyway :p), and most importantly, give Griff a cuddle!

Sarah-thanks for that tip, I know the method you mean (with the wadding) so I might try that. I also have this huge piece of calico (from my Grandma's nursing/nun days) that would be lovely to use as a backing piece. I think the quilt would be about single bed size, so no rush LOL, the kid needs a bedroom first!
I hope the sunshine and warmth clears Iris up, it sounds like a beautiful day there!

Carrie, that's the 'bat' fold I was talking about! LOL, it's the best hey, I hardly ever use anything else
Not sure if you have heard before, but it's not necessary to put the dirty nappies in a bucket of water, you can just pop them in a dry bucket (with a lid is best) then from there straight to the machine every day or two. Even easier! hehe

Nice and sunny here, but not getting anything done because the second Kes settles, DH has something for me to do, or talks loudly and wakes him, I am a bit :hair:
I just want to get some stuff done in a relaxed way, not having to fight for every free second!!!

I would love for you to show me around Melbourne and im sooo looking forward to giving Kes a big cuddle! One from all us perth girls lol! (all 4 of us anyway).

I just put my 2 new computer chairs together, the ones i got from Ikea. They are so comfy.

Oh that reminds me, Sheree are you still using your broken computer chair? Do you want a new (second hand one)? PM me if you're interested or want to know more

Afternoon everyone

Sorry I haven't posted lately, I've been trying to catch up on sleep as Cooper decides he likes to wake up 4 times a night lol. Anyway he's going well, still no teeth but I'm sure they will come when they are ready. My foot is still hurting, I had to cancel my x-ray appointment as DH came down with a migraine so was unable to take me. :fingerscrossed: he can take me next saturday. My dryer decided to die on Friday and with all this wet weather it was a pain just to get Cooper's bibs dry. Dh tried to fix it but it started to have an electrical smell to it. So I was going to rent one but no one had any left and it's dead money so Dh said he would buy me one as long as he could buy a navman. So we went to Retra Vison yesterday arvo and the one with the most red stars cost $549. And it was the last one left so I was very lucky. Needless to say it's a fine day today  .

Take a look at what my mum made for Iris....its a Hollie Hobby Quilt its sooooo cute!
I cant believe how good it looks she is very talentedhttp://s211.photobucket.com/albums/bb260/landie_04/?action=view&current=babygirl092.jpg
Yes your mum's very talented...It's a lovely quilt. I love Holly Hobbie. My Grandma gave me a porcelain cup/mug when I was little so it's about 20 yrs old. I'm very lucky it hasn't be broken with the amount of times we have moved.

Is it ok for them to sleep on their tummies at 5.5 months
He didn't even grizzle!
Cooper rolls onto his tummy all the time to sleep. He just won't stay on his back. So I Assume it is okay.

Hope everyone is having a good day. :D

Hey!!

Tried Madi on the custards but she hates them so much. All she eats is veges, she absolutely hates fruits unless it's fresh, which she can only suck the juice from. Is it ok to just eat veges? I try fruits everyday but no luck, hopefully one day she'll enjoy it. Shezi, I haven't seen the strawberry ones yet, they sounds nice!

Madi is driving me crazy, she is full steam ahead with teething, no teeth yet but her gums are driving her mad. I have got teething gel, teething liquid and teething rusks which she loves so much. M thinking the teething rusks are dummies and sucks them, so cute to watch. I also gave her some nurofen and panadol, just hope they come through soon so she gets a break and we get a break too!

Carrie, M is in daycare Tuesday and Wednesdays, I am home on Thursday but so much to do. This is my last week home then I am off to work, but once I am settled in I would love to come to one of your MG meetings, sounds like heaps of fun. When I am back at work I can put up your pics for you, I can't wait to show some pics of M to everyone too! So if you can't find anyone I will do it the week after next for ya!

BG, I hope Edmund comes home, that must be very worrying for you guys! He sounds so beautiful too....

Kellie, don't go! I find it really hard to keep up, infact I have gone MIA a few times now, I just pop back in when I have time. Hope you stay, even to just do a 'me' post

Hey Emma, nice to hear from you! Hope you get to get your x-ray done. Bummer about your drier, I love mine and use it most days.

Lana, that sounds like a great opportunity for Sam and a great holiday for you too! It would be so good if one day we could all meet up, that would be so much fun!

Well I have to go fold the washing, so much washing I hate it! Oh has anyone tried their bub on yoghurt yet? I saw you can buy some in the cold section for 6 month old bubs. What reactions should I be watching for? Hope she isn't grizzly from the custards, well I actually mixed the custard in with some apple, but she hates sweet food and fruit, just veges for her!! :hair:

Ok better go now, hope everyone has a lovely night!

OMG!! Proud Mumma Moment!

Griff did a kind of crawl like 10 mins ago!! He got his whole body up off the floor, lifted his knees up til they were almost fully under him and then he lunged forwards!!! Such a clever little cookie! (not that im biased lol)

Emma - What a bummer bout your x-ray being delayed. I hope you dont have to wait too much longer. Lucky you got the last of the energy efficient ones, I couldnt live without my dryer.

Sheree - I know! It was down for ages hey!

Michaela - Aaah! $500, that sounds more like it lol

Nic - Yeah i have heaps of washing to fold too, have fun! I havent tried Griff on any yoghurts yet. Actually, getting him to even just eat apple is a struggle! He just isnt into the whole food thing. I am going to try him on Broccoli though cos he isnt a big fan of pumpkin!

Hi Ladies,
Hope you had a good weekend.

We had a relaxing one and had a lot of fun preparing for B's solids. DH & I don't cook a lot so it took us a lot of time to get it all done. Not to mention the time we spent on figuring out how to use the food processor, we're so hopeless and ended-up using the blender instead! Anyways, we're very well stocked now I reckon we have enough frozen puree to last several weeks at least.

Went to see the pediatric dietitian last Thursday, and was pleasantly surprised that B didn't gain as much weight this time. He's a bit shy of 10kg in the hospy scale, which means that he gained less than 0.5kg in more than 5 weeks...much less than his usual 250-300g/week! The dr was very happy with it and said that what's needed now was to maintain the slow weight gain while introducing him to solids. She gave us a list of veggies & fruits to buy and would email a personalized menu plan for B on Monday. She also said to give her a call anytime if I have any question between then and next time we see her again (next month), which was very sweet of her. And surprise-surprise I don't have to pay anything to see her! I feel much more confident now venturing to this solids world.

Thanks a lot March Mummies for your support when I was so worry with B's weight gain, you're the best! <mushy-mushy>

AD & Carrie ~ Thanks a lot for the solids & preparation tips, I wouldn't know how to do it otherwise. DH was actually quite impressed that I seemed to know a lot and commented several time when helping me...haha!

Carrie ~ B loves his pear. I gave him some since Friday and he cried everytime it finished! He had carrot today and love it too but not as much as the pear. Piccies...yay! You should show us the pics when they're done.

AD ~ Sounds like A is a very active and strong boy! I can imagine he'll love chasing game when start crawling later on. And amazing how he's getting his other teeth as well, I agree our bubs growing up too fast!

Sarah & Shezi ~ You made me shy! Glad I don't bore you with my posts cause somehow I always ended-up with super long ones (but only almost as long as yours Carrie...lol!)

Sarah ~ It'll be so much fun to meet up with you & Hollie in person. Oh and of course the kiddies as well, can't wait to cuddle Iris & her beautiful curlies. Thanks for the KK reminder, I'll put my name now.

Love the letter pics, expecially ones on Iris room...it's so feminine. The pic of O in ergo is so cute! Re. ergo, do you know what is the max. weight for it? We're going to SE Asia to see the parents on Oct/Nov, was thinking of getting the quicksmart stroller for transit time at airports, but maybe ergo is better. What do you think?

How are O & Iris now? I hope they are on the mend. It's so hard to see kiddies sick.

Lana & Carrie ~ re. clean-up invite, hehe...thanks but no thanks. The reason I did it was because both B & I had sniffles last week so spent a lot of time at home and got so so bored. It's actually quite fun cleaning, but I
think I can do without it for a long-long time!

Lana ~ It's very funny re. Amity and scarf, you should show us a pic later when it's done. Poor Griff must be in so much pain, hope his tooth pop soon. Actually B was very grissly today and even cried when I wiped his new teeth after solids...must be quite painful this teething thing.

Re. Ikea, feel free to let me know if you want me to get one of the insert thingy. I love Ikea and won't mind having a browse myself. Yay you're coming to Sydney! It'll be so much fun meeting everybody in person.

And just read that Griff is crawling! Yay...very smart boy! :smiliedance:

Michaela ~ Sorry to hear about your cat. Meds for pets can be very expensive. But yeah, I completely understand that you can't bear to think of "other options" they feel so much part of the family.

How's Harper? Has he poo yet? If not maybe try stopping the farex for a while and just give him the stewed pear twice a day, I heard it works like a treat.

Anna ~ Glad to hear that you had a great time with Leah. It's time like this that makes everything worthwile yah?

Mel ~ Miss Ellery is adorable she looks so calm and contented. And beautiful pic of you two.

You can also buy the ice cube tray with lid online too in http://www.mumiandbubi.com.au/ or http://www.thehouseofrixon.com.au/essentials/. They're two different designs and I find them both quite good. The mumi & bubi one is good if you plan to keep some in zip-lock bags afterwards cause it's so easy to get the frozen
puree out. While the baby cubes one is handy for travel. You can just take one frozen cube with you and defrost it when needed.

Sheree ~ Good that you got M hospy schedule sorted out. How is she feeling about it, is she excited / scared? Wow can't believe that A will be 6m very soon!

A's eczema sounds painfull. Re. clothes, how about buying bigger size of 100% cotton ones, like Bonds?

Hollie ~ You must be so happy going to see your dad again soon. How long has it been since you last see him? Will this be the first time he meet Monty?

Kel ~ Don't leave. I'm also struggling to keep-up all the time. Actually, I think a lot of us are at one time or another, with the rate this threat is moving. But it's so much fun here and all the mummies are so kind I always feel welcome <mushy-mushy again>

M2B ~ Madi must really like her veggies. I think that's great cause I heard that veggies are the hard ones to introduce.

Gin ~ Sewing, knitting and cakes...you're so talented! I bet your DH must be very proud of you. Poor Edmund, you must be so worry he's still not home. Hope he's back soon.

Emma ~ Hope all are well with your x-ray. Sorry to hear about Cooper's waking up, hope he's back to his schedule soon.

Nighty-night Ladies, I think I'd better go to bed soon. DH went on a business trip overseas this afternoon, so it's only me now looking after B I can't slack-off. Have a good week tommorrow.

Jenny - I bet you were relieved to hear that B had only had a small weight gain and to hear that what you are doing is spot on. That is really nice of the dietitian to give you her number in case you have any questions!
It sounds like B is really loving his solids. Any tips for getting Griff to eat his?

Griff isnt crawling properly yet but he is getting closer everyday. The little crawl he did today was kind of half/half. He wasnt fully up on his knees though and his tummy was only about 10 - 15cm off the ground.

Nic - As Jenny said, you are lucky that Madi loves her vegies so much as most babies get hooked on the sweet stuff and fruits and it can sometimes be a bit of a battle getting them to eat the vegies.

Jenny great idea re clothes.. at the moment i just have her in mainly D's tops at home as they're only size 0 & 1's. my sisters friend had her little girl in this gorgeous cotton hoodie from cotton on kids so im on the look out for it hehe.
thats great news with Brendans weight.. i still dont know why drs are so concerned with chubba babies.. it all evens out eventually! oh and i think you've given carrie a run with the posts! haha.

re M & tonsils.. at the moment she's more focused on getting the icecream promised to her after the op lol. i havent bothered going into it too much coz i dont want to freak her out.. the worst bit might be her staying in overnight.. she likes to sleep in her own bed so that night might be hard. she's very used to sore throats so im hoping she doesnt go too badly with it all. im not looking forward to when she's in surgery.. :(

yep im with them Nic.. its great having kids that love their vegies.. even now with a plate full of food D will eat her vegies first. M wont eat any except corn on the cob lol. so if madi only wants vegies let her go for it!

not 100% with rections but i'd look out for rashes and vomitting is a biggie but they reckon its almost instant so you will know.

well done little griffin!!

ok my proud mummy moment.. Aalivyah said dada tonight hehe. SO cute! she had said mum mum mum a few weeks ago but i was umming and arring over whether i was hearing things.. then chris heard it too but we were waiting for her to say it heaps which didnt happen lol.. anyway she's moved onto dadda.. atleast she said mum first!! :D it was so cute just watching her say it over and over.

im in love... emmaljunga.se/start.asp?lang=UK&country=
how gorgeous is that pram! all it needs is a toddler seat and it would be perfect!! im pretty sure you can get them over here just not sure about the colour.. i'll be good and hold off anyway till D is a little older.. that way i can sell the MB and buy a really good pram :D aka this one hehe

Lana ~ yes it was a big relieve...although I don't think it's caused by anything that I did though. I think it was mainly caused by B dropping his night feed.

Re. solids, I'm afraid it's just B being a piggy! :o
I read in one of the book though that it's usually easier to introduce root vegetables first cause they're more palatable to bub then gradually work through to the stronger tasting one like spinach, so I try to do that. I think this is similar with what Carrie said about white, colour then green veggies.

Wow, won't be long now til Griff is cruising along. How exciting! :yelclap:

Sheree ~ I love cotton on kids. They do really cool stuffs hey? BtW, one of the ladies in my MG met Cate Blachett (sp?) in one of their shop and said that Cate was busy looking in the sale section...very cool!

Aw, how cute of A to say mama dada. Smart girl! I bet it's just melt your heart. I tried to teach B to say mamamamamamama...but he just not interested, love his screeching more, I think.

Whoops, I think you're right. I might have posts longer than Carrie. Sorry Carrie!

i love that bub faces backwards.. im sick of my kids having to face out..
wonder how much the emma twins are hehe

Jenny makes you wonder why celebs need to shop in sales but i guess everyone loves a bargain!! :D

you know how A has been coughing heaps and still has a runny nose on and off well she just had a coughing fit and i pulled out a bit of phlegm a little smaller than a 10c coin.. thats not good is it? its been weeks now that she hasnt shook this cold off.

Sheree - Oh dea! Poor A. I would take her back to the doctors and tell them about the phlegm, she might have a chest infection.

Well done to her for saying mumumumum and dada! I keep trying to get Griff to say it but he is more interested and just cooing and gurgling at the moment lol
I like the PInk City Cross pram but i think i would get annoyed that the wheels dont swivel.

Hollie - All babies are different but if you can see the next ones though and the gums are swollen then you are probably right and they are more than likely hurting him.

Hiya!

Kellie - Don't go!!!! I have just as much trouble keeping up but its great to read all the posts and I tend to just put in a few post spurts here and there. These girls are all so supportive and don't seem to mind at all.

Matt is almost sitting - will go for up to a minute or more when he is concentrating. He now has two bottom teeth and is working on more I am sure.]

Hollie - there is no set guidelines for teeth - they will come in whatever order and whatever timeframe they want .

Nights are still so unsettled with Matt and I woke up as one grumpy mumma this morning. Poor DH. But went to the gym and feeling much better now.

Had heaps more to say but clear forgotten as usual.
Oh yeah - :smiliedance: finally had some success with solids this morning. Matt ate a whole ice cube of apple puree (defrosted of course) with some farex mixed in. Doesn't sound much but was a huge accomplishment for him. I'm hoping it might start to settle him down a bit if he can get some decent solids happening.

Got totally spoilt - got the kids babysat and went out for dinner to a great Japanese restaurant with some friends. It was fantastic!

Also had all the family over on Sat night for Thai takeaway. And on the previous thursday night my mum and dad came down. Felt like my birthday went for 3 days.

Got some great loot including gift vouchers for lorna jane (just lurve their gym gear and my gym clothes are soooo old its not funny), a yoghurt maker, a casserole dish and the biggy from the combined family was a traditional Port Barrel. Yummo!!!! Bring on the coffee, port and chocolate.

Sheree - sorry to ruin the pram for you lol. With the rattling in the chest the only other thing i can think of that to be would be asthma. You would have to go see a specialist to have it all checked though and even then they dont like diagnosing young kids.

I really need to go food shopping but i just dont have the time to do it on the days i dont have Amity and there is no way i want to go with both the kids in tow.

its horrible sensing all eyes on you as you walk around with a screaming child.. good thing that i just dont care anymore :D

asthma is in both our families so it wouldnt surprise me.. she's been such a good little chicken lately.. sleeping in her cot through the day for an hour at a time. night time is still a bugger tho..

oh and hollie im waiting for the website to get back to me about the ergo's.. they said only the camel & critter linings are available so they're going to see how long it'll take to get the cranberry one in. i might just get the camel lining.. this is so frustrating..

Hi everyone

Just a quick one to say HI and that I am still here reading quickly. Have the MIL here - which has been nice, but haven't alot of time to sit and reply to everyone.

Ellery had a wonderful day - but went pear shaped at bedtime - her teeth are really hurting - poor little sweety.
I eventually got her to sleep after many, many tears etc.... Hoping she has another good day tomorrow.

We're off to the clinic in the morning - so hoping Pam can check her mouth, along with her ears. I think they could be sore too with the teeth. Not sure....

annsam - glad leahs day sleeps are good - but the nights... HHMMM, hope they get better too!

R&M'sMUM - E's due for her 6 month needles around 11th Sept... Hoping she's as good with them as she was with the previous lots....

Well, must keep moving. Will be sure to catch up with you all again soon.

anna you must be absolutely buggered!! A is up 3 or 4 times a night but she just feeds then goes back to sleep so i only have to half wake up.. but playtime at 2am.. geez i'd be like this :hair: hehe

omgosh..my mum was punched in the jaw tonight.. she works at a nursing home in the dementia wing and some guy just lashed out while they were showering him. its not his fault.. he has dementia but his wife wont allow him on medication to calm him. he's hit a few nurses lately, (everything to do with him is done with 2 or 3 nurses) dad wants mum to quit. she would earn more as a checkout chick. its pathetic. but she wont quit, she likes what she does. its a pity theres not more out there to protect nurses.

mel i hope ellery is feeling better tomorrow.. poor little chicken.

Sheree - Now that i have looked at the pics of them all together i think i prefer the cranberry with critters (the best of all was the black/cranberry though)

Anna - At least she has started to sleep during they day, thats a start! And hopefully she will go back to only waking twice during the night again soon and then to not waking at all. Griff goes to bed at 7pm wakes at 11pm for a feed then wakes at 2.30am then again at around 5.30am... and because he wont take solids i cant fill him up before bed :hair:

Mel - I hope Pam is able to help you tomorrow. A lot of babies do get referred pain in their ears when they are teething. Has Ellery been pulling at her ears?

I have had a pretty cruisy night which has been nice. DP fed Griff at 7pm and he fell asleep (bit annoying considering i had been trying to get him to sleep all bloody day!)

Hmmm i get so bored on here at night. I think i definitely the Night Owl of the group lol!

Amity is at day care tomorrow (tuesday) and as usual my day is jam packed full of appointments. Poor Griff is going to have another day of cr@ppy sleep

Lana - Ellery went to sleep and stayed asleep all night! Which is great. She's in there stirring at the moment - hoping Pam (nurse) can give me some ideas as I do think her ears were sore last night......
I think you are the night owl of us all!! It is boring when there is no chatter.....
Glad Griff went to sleep for you last night. Sounds like you had a busy day with him!

Sheree - hope your mums ok. My cousin is a nurse in an oldies wing also - and she comes away from her shift with bruises and injuries - not easy. But, as your mum, she does enjoy doing the work....

Not much else happening. Got an early start today with chiro then the clinic nurse. Taking MIL with me. She's good though - so easy to get along with and she's helping me learn to sew! She's a great sewer - so we went to spotlight on the weekend, got some material (Norma's going to make the dress out of the super pretty material)... She cut me a pattern from another 2 dresses E has - I think she is so clever - I wouldn't have a clue where to start!
I'll be sure to post a pic of my first attempt (could be scary, but i'll try.. ha ha)

Aaargh :hair:..... anyone want a 4 year old????

Ask me in 3 and a half years... LOL
Sorry mate, I hope you got some sleep last night, it must be hard doing it alone for the night.

Just a quick one from me, I'm going out in a bit but wanted to say howdy to my lovelies.

Shezi, I can't see those picture but did a bit of a hunt online, and I think that either cranberry with critters (beautiful) or black with camel (it looks kind of gold in the pictures, very luxurious and wouldn't clash with any clothes I don't think) Have fun choosing!

:hugs: to little O, I had forgotten that when we all started getting to know each other that he had that nasty hospitalisation, let's hope that being a little older he is able to recover from the cough by himself.

I think I might get a Jolly Jumper... I have always been anti JJ, (was anti dummy and cosleeping too, LOL) but popped Kes in his little friend's one yesterday and he was so happy! THey're on sale for $40 at TRU I heard, so will have a squizz today.

Have a lovely day my sweets, I'll catch you all later

Hi everyone

Sunday turned into a sh!t day ... drove over half way to bbq, I went in a bottle-o & got a bottle of wine, Dave was grumpy cos I didn't get him any beers & said he was going home to get money (I assumed he left his wallet at home) to get beer but when we got home he told us to get out of the car, there's no point in going cos we don't have much petrol left blah blah & was just being an @r$ehole so I texted his bro to tell him we're not coming cos Dave's being a selfish pr!ck then his bro called me & wanted to talk to Dave, saying it was important (he was cut at one of the other bro's for not going when we've known weeks in advance as it's important & we assumed they were announcing an engagement or something but they didn't say anything) but Dave just pushed me away & hung the phone up. His bro said I was welcome to come with Ella as haven't started cooking but as if I was gonna go all the way there on my own to have MIL, BIL, FIL etc etc bother me about Dave and why he didn't wanna come etc. It can't be just cos I didn't get him beer, and he contradicted himself saying I didn't buy beer but I spent money on wine when I should've put fuel in? He didn't even realise I had $15 cash on me for petrol? DH (other DH not dh lol).

Then Sunday night was cr@p cos I was in bed watching Idol (went to bed with no dinner, I had given him the silent treatment all day/night) & he came in and goes 'Are you a complete idiot??' I am like 'Excuse me, don't talk to me like that! What's the prob now?' The toilet was blocked & you know, of course it was my fault!! He just goes 'Well I hope you like p!$$ing on the grass'. What a f**king kn0b. I went when I dropped him at his work in the morning & my SIL had offered me her loo, lol, but she'd gone out so before we went to the picnic with the anti-natal class ladies & babies (which was lovely by the way) Ella & I went to the shops so I could go to the toilet! LOL. Lucky I saw a trolley outside near the car with a capsule so chucked E in there instead of hauling the pram in & out for 5 mins.

Today I have just given the house a very good clean, vacuumed, mopped, did all the washing etc (oh yes it's my fault Dave has no socks as well btw ...) as I am having that nappy party/MG tomorrow. Looking fwd to that.

I will read the last ... 6 pages(!!) and reply on a separate post ...

Hi girls,

Anyone taking their older kiddies outside later to see the luna eclipse? Im looking forward to it. Sams so into the moon and planets etc at the moment. Just hope I remember.

Having an at home day today. Sam and I made piklets for lunch and did a wee bit of weeding (very wee as he started freaking out at the spiders and leah was getting grumpy....... you know how it goes).

Mel, how did you go at the clinic? Hope Ellery is feeling better today.

Shezi, thankfully the 2am playing doesn't happen often and Im so glad to hear Im not the only one whos still up in the night. Sometimes I think my bubs the only one on earth that doesn't sleep through:sleeping: Sorry to hear about your mum. I used to dodge a bit of that in a rehab ward with a couple of the patients.

Lana, thats about Leahs night sleep pattern too most of the time. Dream feed at 10, awake at 2 (when I usually stuff a dummy in because shes not hungry) then feed at 4ish and up when Sam wakes her about 6. You having issues with solids too huh? Leahs only liking sweeter things at the moment. I guess because breastmilk is sweet shes used to the taste whereas Sam was bottle fed and didn't mind the bitterer tastes.

Sarah, we'll get there one day:) . Hope O is ok. Hows he doing today?

Carrie, sounds like a rough trot! Hope the week gets better for you. Very stressful when blokes are being pr*cks.

Well, I need to put my roast on and play with my wee girl.

 Hi everyone!!

I've deceided to hang around and just chat when I can. For those few days I was gone I still found myself coming back to see what you are all up too. Thanks to all who said stay and gave advice. It is a comfort to know that there are all you mummies that live in my computer who are going through the same as me in regards to our bubs.(blah)
I thought about putting some photos on here but not sure how so any tips to help me do that would be great.
N is a happy chappy, he's taken to solids well, this week we started having pot, pumpkin & sweet pot. He loves that, goobles it down. At dinner it's like I can't feed him fast enough, he starts off happy and then he has a little grizzle in between spoonfuls as if to say more, more, more!!!
He's still sleeping through, no sign of teeth, attempting to sit up. He does sit up for about 10-15 secs by himself (of course me there),the only thing is it looks like he squashes his tummy. He has found his voice cause he does this squealy, high pitch gurglely type noise, very cute but lloouudd.
That's enough from me atm, sorry for just personal but thought I'd let you all know whats's happening before I reply to you guys...
Ok, Thanks for having me back. :hugs:

Ew ... I just changed the most disgusting poohy nappy! Lol.

Lana - Yay you got the same nappy as me! Except I am still waiting ... :( Yay for Griff! Sounds like he'll be on the move any day now!

Swimming - As you know we start soon & I would prefer to use an MCN swimming nappy as opposed to the disposable Lil Swimmers. What does everyone else use? What do you recommend?

Gin - What a cute name for a cat! Hope he returns home soon. Have you phoned the RSPCA or pound & asked around the neighbourhood? Also with the 'dry pailing' I thought that was just MCN's as I thought the towelling ones would become too stained that way. Do you find they stain? I can't wait for my dryer so I can hang them in the sun to start with (bleach stains!) and finish them off in the dryer so lovely & soft :) Oh and for our bath towels too!

Shezi - With the layering, I have a couple of the Bonds Layerettes (?) things - a hoodie & a v-neck tee, they also have tanks etc. They are lovely thin material ideal for layering (thumbs up here!). I can't wait for E to say 'dada' or 'mumum'. Are there signs when they are about to talk? Lol re M & her ice-cream! I can't remember who it was, maybe even you(?) who said they were made to eat a steak sandwich after their tonsils were out & couldn't leave til then & their mum helped eat it? I am positive it was you now I have said it! How is A feeling? I like the black critter ergo btw! Your poor mum!!! Is she okay?

Nic - It'll be great if you come to MG on Thursdays. It'll be good to see you & Madi again, I bet she has gorwn & changed so much since I last saw her. Are you nervous about going back to work? With the yoghurts, I will be giving Ella natural yoghurt instead of the baby ones as the health nurse suggested. Apparently the baby ones are full of sugar & additives etc & prob worse than the normal ones. Sounds like M is a fussy eater already though! I can't believe she didn't like custard! LOL.

Emma - What happened to your foot? I must've missed something ... Luv the new avy, Cooper is beautiful!

Jenny - You seem to see the paed a lot? We have only been for E's 6 wk check-up & going in Oct for her 6 mth check (however she'll be 7 & a half mths by then!). Are we meant to go more often? B sounds like he is doing fabulously & she sounds like a lovely lady. I will try & scan E's pics when I get them & post them. (Keyword = TRY) Lol.

Solids - Yesterday at the picnic we were talking about solids, as you do, and it turns out E is quite the little piggy! Lol. All the others seem to have a small amount where as E eats a whole bowl full (bottom of the bowl is covered, not all the way up to the brim tho iykwim).

Sharon - Hello! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Sounds like you were spoiled rotten! Hope the solids help Matt settle down a bit for you! I know I was going mental til Ella started sleeping through a couple of weeks ago. Although I sleep longer though I still feel like I could sleep more come the morning! I think my body is trying to catch up on 5 months of lost sleep! Well done Matt on the solids & sitting :)

Sunflower - Like your new avy too! What does your dh do for work? It must be hard going a whole week on your own. Although when dh is at home I am wishing he was at work so I could get things done! Lol. Oh & I have the same prob! And it's not fair that if I go out I always get asked for ID (even when I was 32 weeks prg!) but my sis who is 3 yrs younger doesn't! I get disapproving looks from old ladies too lol. Do you get stupid telemarketers ringing & asking for your mum or dad too? Love the pic!

Loving this nappy bag - http://www.ekidnakids.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=OobiNappy

Wish they had a pic of it opened up ... not that I need a new one ... I have one black Ryco one (proper one), but that is so heavy & not good on P&T when lying down so I have a pink Roxy bag with lotsa pockets which is light & great, and a big white soft handbag I use most of the time as just brilliant & lately if going somewhere for just an hour or 2 I have been taking my Dusk enviro bag, it also makes a good bag to take with wraps/blanket/toys etc in as it fits in basket under the pram. Mine was $2.50, (originally $5 I think) & mum liked it & had to get one & hers was only $1!

When cleaning I pushed the couch back another few inches & it has made the world of difference to the lounge room! It looks a lot bigger ... coffee table is still pushed up length ways against the sliding door though as Ella's mat is constantly in the middle of the room lol. Tomorrow I am gonna move the computer into the back room to make some more room for visitors. It means I can't get online in the morning though if I have time cos no phone line in that room.

Sarah - You mentioned Mike's not around at night as he works night shift now? I thought you weren't living together anymore ... have you reconciled? Maybe I missed something!

Anna - I'm not going anywhere for the eclipse but I am sure DH will be going fishing cos of it! (Rolly eyes here ...). How is Leah's sleeping now? Hope she has decided to give up 2am play time for ya!

Kel - Nice to see you hanging around! That's good Noah likes his solids! With regards to pics if you go to Photobucket.com just set up an account (free) & it is pretty basic as you will see once you are logged in.

Ok I must go & get E up again ... screaming for me from her room.

Have a good night everyone ...

AAGHH!! WHEN WILL MY NAPPIES COME?!

Kel. glad you decided to hang around, there are lots of other mummies who joined recently too. Brendan'sMUm, mellanh, sunflower.
Here's some info about me so you can get to know us better.
35 (female), toadlet is my first baby. I have my own business which I run from home. I rock climb twice a week and like to be as politically incorrect as possible.

Sounds like Noah is right on track.

I took toadlet out for a walk in the Ergo on my back.
This was him (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/sleepy%20ergo.jpg)when we got home.

This is when I took him out of the Ergo (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/after%20ergo.jpg)

He must have been mega tired as I changed his nappy and put him in his cot and he didn't wake up.

LT, its at its full eclipse about 8-8.30 EST but will be eclipsing from 6ish - 10ish. Apparently its really slow unlike a solar eclipse and bright red. Haven't seen a lunar eclipse before (never been that interested either) but I think Sam will get a real kick out of it. Just hope we can see it and its not hidden behind trees.

Gorgous photos!!

Kel, great to hear you are sticking around. Your little one sounds adorable. Leah found her voice a long time ago but thats girls for you huh? Not sitting or sleeping through yet though.

Carrie, no 2am play last night. Seems to happen 2-3 times a week at the moment.

hey lovely march mummies, sorry i havent been on much, my arms and wrists are killing me! i am thinking of trying acupuncture or some other alternative med, need to check what our health insurance will cover.

Im so glad to hear Im not the only one whos still up in the night. Sometimes I think my bubs the only one on earth that doesn't sleep through:sleeping:
LOL! Harper has NEVER slept through. i'm just happy when he does 5 hours instead of 3. his usual is quick feeds and straight back to sleep at 10ish, 2ish and 5ish. then he sleeps til 8.30ish thankfully, so i get a little catch-up. but some nights lately he wakes at 12 too. does my head in!! i should prob just try to settle him etc but in the middle of the nights, its so much easier to shove a boob into him for 5 mins then back to bed.

LL!!! Entering the MCN swap too?
nah, not yet. my sewing still needs a lot of work before i inflict it on anyone else! i tried to make my first AIO the other night and had the PUL facing the wrong way again DERRRR. i am not the crafty type lol.

Kellie welcome back, i'm glad you didnt leave, we like havng new people to chat to. i will do a little 'summary' like Hollie did: i'm 30 and Harper is my first baby (apart from my 2 fur-babies hehe). my husband works on a mine 8 days on and 6 days off. i am on maternity leave from working in a uni library. i'm meant to go back in may but i hope to get preg again in jan/feb and try to extend my leave :D

MY ERGO CAME!! :smiliedance:
it took a whole week from posting to arriving, i thought it was lost in the mail. i went to the shop with him in front style which was great. tried to do back carry but it wasnt right, will have to watch the dvd... will get Al to take a photo soon.

i think H doesnt like farex. coz when we gave him straight pear, he lapped it up! tomorrow i thought i would give him pear during the day then try some pumpkin in the evening. he seems to like the evening solids and it gives me a chance to "refill" (usually he wants boob every couple of hours in the late arvo/evening)

ok well my wrist is really sore again. gotta check out the health ins website and make an appointment somewhere. back later...

Have been watching the luna eclipse - tried to take a photo, but not happening. As Ellery is my only - no other kiddies to enjoy it with (unless you class my bird grover - who is 3 - another child!)

Kellie - glad you decided to stick around.... Glad Noah is a happy boy and loving his solids... E's pretty good with hers, and I am giving you similar - pot/pumpkin and also a mixture of pureed/cooked pear and apple. Both going down well - thankfully. She's asleep now - and she generally sleeps through also - so we're lucky mummies aren't we....

Michaela - can't believe Harper has never slept through!!!!! I would completely beside myself - but I am a bit pathetic and ALWAYS need my sleep. Your a champ for keeping going as you do.....:yelclap:

Went well at clinic visit today with Ellery. She's a healthy 17.9lb (8.14kg) and she's doing fine. Pam said that it isn't any surprise that she's suffering with her teeth - her bottom gums are so raised and sore. She suggested using Nurofen (children) when teeth are bad, as its better for those kind of complaints..... Gave it a try this afternoon when she got super sad - and she settled WAY BETTER than last night... All good.

Took my MIL along for the ride. She got some things at the shops and we had a nice time. Didn't get home till after lunch - but it was nice for MIL to get out and about also...... She showed me an easy chicken casserole dinner - tasted great - so that'll be on the menu in future.....!

Not much else to report... Have to get a few things done before bed (we're early to bed - DP's up at 4am in the morning!)

Glad that everyone's going well and i'll be sure to write ALOT of dribble tomorrow.

Mel - Great stats for Ellery. See, you are doing everything right

Michaela - Yay for the Ergo! Parcels take forever to come from the eastern states hey!

Hollie - Aww. Monty looks so adorable in the ergo. Looks like that was a great investment for you.

Hey everyone

Well this is past my bedtime! Lol. I am usually abolished to bed to watch my tv shows but DH has gone fishing because of the eclipse ... supposed to be good time for it ... ah well ...

As u know it's father's day sunday & it is dh's b'day on Tuesday and I thought I'd take him to the boating, camping & fishing show on Saturday arvo for an early b'day present since the pics won't be done on time & he was complaining about new shoes. Anyhoo he came home & was asking what we're doing cos he's gonna go shopping with his mum to get (you guessed it) a new rod ... omg he has like 4 or 5 I swear lol. So I had to tell him what we were doing but he'd rather go get his new fishing rod instead since he can't buy a boat! That was not the idea ... So I will go Sat morning & get his shoes now. He will get new socks (which he apparently doesn't need even though he seems to have hardly any & they all have holes in them & he hates the thick work ones I bought him) and the book on Sunday then his shoes on Tues and the pics & frame on Thursday. I wanna go & find my paints from when I used to paint & do him Ella's handprints on a card for Sunday too. Oh & Stupid Head (oops, MIL) wants us to go to lunch Sat for his b'day too ... Great ... I said well we'd better check with everyone else (his bro's, SIL's, Dad & his fam) but he said no just MIL & Step-FIL are coming that's it. FUN! NOT!!!

Eclipse looks awesome now ...

LT - I will! Don't u worry! My other's haven't arrived - prob will tomorrow since a different brand! Murphy's Law ... LUV the pics! Monty is just so cute I wanna pick him up & cuddle him. It's a lota work sitting in the carrier getting walked around isn't it? Haha.

Man I have to make an appt with the specialist for my Carpel Tunnel as I am waking up with my arm in pain at night time now, not just the tingling so it's getting worse ... I had better not leave it much longer.

LL - This group seems to be turning into an Ergo group! Lol. I have never used a carrier before, I am worried it'll really hurt my back (which is worse than an old woman's according to the physio I saw! Lol). I wouldn't be able to use it on the front cos my boobs are to friggin big hehe.

Mel - Sounds like Ellery is striving! I think I missed your link with the pics? Are you able to link me back to it or re-post them or something as I'd love to see her. Your chicken casserole sounds yummy! We have had roast 2 nights in a row as we had roast lamb at BIL & SIL's last night then roast beef at home tonight as that's all we had. I made a yummy lunch today (well breakfast/lunch - it was all I ate) - I cooked up some left over Inghams Chicken Patty thingy-me-bobs, had left-over tortillas so had those with mayo, spinach, tomato, chicken, sweet chilli sauce ... YUM!

Oky doky. Talk 2moz & let u know how party went ...

G'night, Luv Ya, Don't let the bed bugs bite! x

Sarah! Gorgoeus pics of Iris as usual, you are doimng really well with your sewing.
it looks like you are strangling her in the first pic.. I'll report you to DOCS!

I had a fantastic climb tonight, hadn't been for 2 weeks nearly.

LL.. do you have Carpel Tunnel?

Carrie let me know how you go with your appointment for CTS. I had it unbelievably bad when I was pg and need to get something done about it before I get pg again. Massage your arms really well, also try something for fluid retention. That may help it a bit.

Sarah - the dress looks great. Hope my efforts turn out ok... MIL and I plan to do some sewing today - hoping Ellery plays the game so we can get into it.

Carrie - I'll put the pics up again so you can have a look at Miss Ellery. Hope they don't freeze your computer too!
Sounds like you're a really good cook. I'm not overly fancy but i get there. DP is a really good cook, some of his look and taste like they are from a restaurant!!! I plod my way through though and we never starve... I find cooking roasts really easy - so we often have them too.
About your arm and wrist - is it carpel tunnel or is it ligament problems? Why i ask is that my wrist was shocking - i nearly dropped E many times and the pain would make me cry. I started to wear a brace over it (which helped alot) and now at the chiro they work on it to help stretch the ligaments etc.. and it's 1000 times better. I think you'd better go and see about it though. The only thing that helped me was the brace thingy and the chiro though. Ointments and alike did nothing!!!:crying:
Try massaging the wrist - and pressing hard on the point of where it hurts.... That's what they do to mine and although it hurts to do - after its alot better....

Hollie -both you and Monty look very comfy with the ergo. Hope you continue to get LOTS of use out of it!

I know what i'm getting DP for fathers day - nothing exciting. He's so hard to buy for... He needs new runners badly - and he suggested them too... so, i'll go to pac.fair tomorrow or something and get some. I also got him some nice milk choccy from Darrel Lea yesterday - so hope he likes it....

Glad the weathers better here... The days have been lovely after the nightmare week last week... Thankfully that's over and praying we don't get wind like that for sometime. It was a bit scary.

Watched a bit of the eclipse last night. Looked kinda eery - redish in colour.....

they are both so cute!
hope the dressmaking goes well today

O and iris slept great last night as did I, although I had another weird dream this time I had adopted out a baby girl and I wanted her back but she was like a year old
it was weird must have been about that 60mins adoption story....i cried like a baby when they handed over their lil girls
one of the bubs looked like Iris when she was a newbie!
I just think it must be so damn hard, imagine experiencing child birth having hormones running through you, the baby blues and all those other emotions and then signing away your bub

anyway gotta go......iris awake

Lana, how was craft night? I'll bet they were impressed with that bear of yours!

Hollie-thanks for the heads up, I never seem to notice when a new swap starts but am signed up now (still have to take measurements, no idea what size he'll be in 2 months!)
I love the ergo photos, what a comfy cosy carrier it must be!
As for the JJ, my MCHN was pretty full on about the scary dangers (insert cheesy horror music here) of using them, it turns out she sees some pretty iffy parenting (lots of babies sleeping in them half the time, young babies with rotting teeth, Mum's giving babies sips of wine to help them sleep) so she errs on the side of caution with these things. Now she knows us she was a little more comfortable saying they're OK in moderation. I get so paranoid that I'll permanently damage the kid with something I do that I second guess these things. I also never knew that babies could stay awake an entire day (with a few power naps on my lap or in the pram) so never realised just how important 20 minutes of him being occupied would be
Wow, did you ask me for an essay? Oops, sorry mate :o

Sarah, you're coming along in leaps and bounds with that sewing, great job! She looks so cute in it, definitely something to be proud of.
Do you sew while she naps? Or is she happy to lie there and watch? I'm yet to dust of the machine since Kes was born, but am in dire need of new t-shirts so something has to be done!

Kellie-great to see you still here, a quick rundown on me:

26 years old (for a few more weeks!), DH is 30. This is our first baby, we've always wanted a little boy. I have a big goofy dog, and currently a missing cat. I'm a SAHM with no current plans to return to the work force, would love to work from home if I could ever get some sort of routine in my life, LOL

Carrie-sorry to hear he is being a dh, I hope the weekend turns out OK! Did you ever find out why he cracked it and wouldn't go to that BBQ?

Michaela, I hope you got a bit more sleep last night, or at least a cruisey baby for today! You made me laugh with the backwards PUL, that's the kind of thing that makes me such a slow sewer! LOL, always getting mixed up about how things go!

Thanks for the eclipse reminders everyone, I had no idea it was going to happen so I'm very excited we got to see it for Kes's 5 month birthday!!! Yay for my big boy!!!
And happy 6 monthday to little A too!!!
(gosh they sound grown up don't they!)

Sarah, that dream sounds hideous, a horrible feeling.

Big day out for us yesterday, Kes cracked it last night, very tired, but he just gets so excited when we go anywhere that he wont sleep, then gets super tired and freaks if he is anywhere but in my arms. Ah well, it made for a nice long sleep. he was up at about 7-7:30 but is napping beside me now, might sneak off to have a coffee and some toast, I have my walking group today so a bit of sustenance is in order!
One lovely thing I've noticed, is that he wont poo anywhere but here or Grandparent's house!
SOmeone holding him yesterday thought he had (he had wind) and it made me realise, he hasn't pooed while we are out since he was a few weeks old, I hope he keeps it up! Makes life much more convenient. I remember the joy when he was about 3 weeks old and stopped pooing overnight, so much easier!

Carrie, sorry I missed your question, just remembered when getting nappies out of the laundry, LOL
That fold you described that your Mum taught you is the bat fold I mentioned, I love it! As for dry pailing, it's what my Mum always did for our nappies, so I just assumed that soaking was more an American "obsessed with germ-killing" thing, until I found BubHub and realised most people used to do it! hehe, my Mum was ahead of her time.
The grand thing about flats is that if there ever is a stain, you can soak or hang out or hot wash them and not worry about damaging elastic or anything. What I do is to dry pail, then wash in warm water, then every few washes- with a drop of eucalyptus oil in the section that stuff like napisan goes in, along with a dessert spoon of bi-carb soda, and in the fabric softener section about a dessert spoon of plain vinegar.
If they stain (like when he had gastro) I just hung them out in the sun for longer.

its RSI, i've had it since 2001, was on w/c reduced hours then managed to get it under control at work. now i'm lugging Harps around, its killing me. i couldnt get to sleep last night from the pain :(

it never ceases to amaze me! if one of my inserts has a stain, it only takes about 20 mins for the sun to make it disappear!!

ok time for my fitball class soon and i'm only half-dressed. Harper's still in bed so gotta get him up and feed him before MIL arrives...

Lana- yeah, i may not have included that picture in the other lot i posted.... She is a cutey - but at times, she damn well knows it too!!!!!!!

She is sleeping at the moment - i've had little lessons here and there with the MIL... She's sewing E's little dress now - explaining what shes doing as she goes along... Much easier to comprehend when you have somebody there with knowledge..... MIL is sewing more difficult material than i will be - i purposely chose it for her to do.. ha ha.... I get the simple stuff - checks and stripes.....

I have a bit of a h'ache - not sure why. My neck might be out a bit. Think i slept funny... Getting hungry - so think i will warm up some leftover pea & ham soup from the other night.

Hope all your lovelies are being good bubbas today.:)

I have to confess Toadlet has never had a poo on a nappy!

I use Johnson and Johnson nappy liners, cut in half so tey end up beng 4 cents each.
Still big enough to cover the poo area. Makes it VERY easy to clean a toad poo. Straight in the nappy bag/ toilet.

I can always tell when Frog has put a nappy on toadlet, he has a massive plumbers crack. Frog doesnt put his bum IN the nappy, more right at the top of the nappy and blames toadlet for pulling them down.

Gin - Craft was great! I started teaching one of the other girls how to knit. Lots of fun!
If Kes is able to keep up the only pooing at home that will be great for you!
Hopefully he isnt as cranky for you today. Cranky babies arent much fun lol

Mel - Cant wait to see some pics of the dress you MIL is making. what kind of material is she using?

Sarah - Oh what a horrible dream. They are the sorts of ones where you wake up crying and feel like cr@p hey.

Hey did i show you gals the chairs im buying?? They are awesome! http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S69848005

Sarah - re the chocci with the mag: I got suckered in at the checkout as the mag came with a loot bag of goodies including 2 blocks of choccie... i don't normally buy magazines but couldn't resist :o. Love the piccies of Iris - she is such a cutie and the dress looks fantastic!

Shezi - hope your mums okay.

Sunflower - love the pics, you are both gorgeous!

Sharon
37yo

2 beautiful boys
married to david (38) who is a pilot with qantas (someone asked what he did) which explains why he is often away.
Brissie girl, lived in Sydney for 10 years before moving back home nearly 2 years ago now.
Going back to work (IT) soon - just 2 days a week.

Hollie - great pics of Monty in the ergo. Were you sore after your climb, having not been for 2 weeks? I feel it at the gym if I miss even 1 week.

Mel - love the pics, another cutie for the group.

Gin, sorry to hear about your cat... :gloomy:

Shezi - hope A is feeling better.

Proud me moment... I managed to have a cup of tea with NOTHING to eat!!! (i usually down half a packet of biccies no problem :o)

Proud mumma moment - Matthew has started to really love being with Ryan. When Ryan hopped in the bath with him yesterday he lit up with a huge beaming grin and started flapping his arms in the water. Just loved it!

I'd better go - got friends coming over for a farewell dinner before they go (hes in the army and they have been re-posted to Vic for training :gloomy:). Sorry for the ramble - its taken me most of the day to read and put this together.... hope it makes sense.

I'm with you too Anna.... the only night Matthew has gone right thru we had Ryan awake three times that night. I usually get up to Matthew 3-4 times every night but never to feed - just a sip of water or pear juice, dummy back in and he's off asleep again.

I'm gonna have to do some controlled crying I think to teach him how to resettle himself.

Sarah - I loved hand-made granny style toys too lol so you're definitely not alone. Love the doll and it looks as though Iris does too.

Sharon - Congrats on having the will power not to eat the biccies... (im still working on that lol) How sweet to see Matthew's face light up when he sees Ryan now. I need to teach Griff to self settle too.

Sheree - Poor A. I hope she is feeling better tomorrow for our little play date! I dont think it matters that the table edging is black and not the grey. Black and grey go nicely together.

Griff had his needles yesterday too and Sam said he was really unsettled last night while i was at craft so we figured it was cos of the needles BUT he has been really whingey today and i rubbed my finger along his gums and guess what!? There is the teeny tiniest point of a tooth through!! No wonder he has been grumpy!

Sarah - I love the 'old granny' style toys too. The MIL (Norma) knitted Ellery a beautiful octopus with all different coloured legs and a scarf. It's just great (will post some pics for you later) and also, a small doll that turns in and out also..... E loves them too - and they're so much softer for her. No bumps on the head with tears... She also loves holding onto Ollie (the octopus') legs and flinging him around..... She's a talented lady... I'd love to get the pattern, as I can knit quite well. not too good with following patterns, but she assured me it wasn't hard. See how i go....

Lana - hope Griff's ok after his needles. E was a little grumpy today - with her teeth too. I can't actually see anything yet - but they are angry, red and sore looking. DP's giving her bottle now and hoping she settles for the night.

Kellie - bit of information about me.
Melissa (Mel) 34, DP - 36. Ellery - only child
Engaged - yet to organise wedding (ha ha - all too damn hard....!!!)
Live on Gold Coast - from Brisbane.
Had a career once in advising - no a SAHM.
DP - CEO
No plans to go back to work at this stage - do a bit of data entry from home... Helps with a little bit of $$ and makes me feel a teeny, weeny bit independent.. ha ha

R&Ms Mum - good on you - no biscuits...!!! I often like something sweet with my coffee - but have been trying to be good myself. Not easy I can tell you!

The MIL did up E's dress today - with a hat!!! Clever lady - I am just impressed cause I've never sewn before. I watched and she showed me how and why she did certain things. I have my patterns there waiting for my turn - see when I get the courage to embark on the adventure!! I will get a photo of E's new outfit and post it soon.

My headaches a bit better tonight. Have to get tea organised - so should head for now. Have a good night girls.

Hi Ladies,

The weather is so nice in Sydney in the last 2 days, we've been out quite a bit. Went to a nice lunch with a friend today for her birthday, then stopped at the park with B on the way back and had lots of fun just laying down watching the sky and giggling. Pure bliss!

Hollie ~ Thanks, you make me shy now. Unfortunatelly, 5 yrs on and many kgs later I look nowhere close to that pics now, hence the coming back to gym!

Monty looks soooooooo cute sleeping. B always sleep that way too, with both arms open occupying the whole cot. BtW, Monty has the same play gym as B.

R&MMum ~ Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a great one. Yay for M's sitting, solids and new teeth. Your story about Ryan just gave me a glimpse of the future...ekk! not looking forward to it yet.

Sunflower ~ Hi! Owen is adorable, he has beautiful blue eyes. Love the pics of you two together.

Lana ~ Yay for Griff's tooth! How exciting! And love those Ikea chair, vey chic.

Sheree ~ What colour of Ergo did you get at the end? I agree with Lana that the cranberry/critters one is very pretty. Sorry to hear about your mom, hope she's ok. Oh, Happy 6th month old to A! Hope she feels better soon.

Anna ~ Good to hear that Leah day sleeps has improved now. Hopefully the night sleeps will follow after this.

Lunar eclipse? I just read it this morning in the paper, a bit too late hey?

Mel ~ Your MIL sounds lovely. Have fun with the dressmaking today. And congratz for E sleeping through, you must be wrapped!

Gin ~ Happy 5th month old to Kes! JJ is great, B loves his so much. We actually has a JJ song here in our place (we always sing that song before putting B to JJ). Whenever B is unhappy and nothing else work, we sing that song and he's settle cause he knows he'll get to play in it soon.

Carrie ~ Sorry to hear about your weekend. Hope things have improved since then. How's the nappy party?

Re. paed, so far we saw him when B is at hospy, 6w & 4m. Last week one we saw a paed. dietitian. Our paed referred us to her for more guidance re. B starting solids. BtW, I received her email re. B's meal plan today and was quite surprised on how much food she specified for a day, milk like usual + breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. And snack is cut fruit? I'm going to call her tommorrow cause I think she might had sent me the wrong meal plan.

Kel ~ Welcome back! Glad to hear that Noah is taking his solids well.

A bit about us, I'm 34, DH 37 and B is our first bub. We're living in Sydney. I'm currently on maternity leave scheduled to go back full-time on Feb 2008, but lately start thinking of going back part-time instead.

LL ~ Hope your wrists feel better soon, they sound really painful. Good to hear that H loves his pears. B loves his pears too, actually he cries when finishing one, doh!

Sarah ~ Iris is stunning as always! And beautiful dress, very colourful and fit for summer.

Tazzy ~ Yay for Jacey sleeping so long. B is sleeping 7pm - 6.30am now, it's good hey? Sounds like you had a great day there. Have a good holiday!

BtW, B has been sleeping alone in the last 4 nights! :smiliedance: I thought since DH is away I just sleep in the other bedroom (with Aerobed) and put the Angelcare mat & monitor on. No complaint from B so far. I'll ask DH to move our bed to the other bedroom when he's back.

Nighty-night girls!

Thanx to everyone for telling their details. It's always interesting to find out new things about people. A little about me and my family; married 5 years, 2 boys Elijah 4 1/2 and of course Noah. Sahm and have been for a few years.

Hope all the bubs who have had their needles are doing ok. I hate doing the needle thing. I suppose it's good that they won't remember but believe me when they get their 4 years needles they definately know about it....

All the bubs are so cute. I just looking at all the photos. Mel - Ellery, Sarah - Iris and LT(do I call you Hollie or LT) - Monty very precious photos you guys have posted recently.

Kellie - I couldnt get the pics to work either... when you copied the link from photbucket did you copy the one that is titled 'Share URL'?? Love the new Av. very cute!

Sheree - Yay!! Hopefully she will be feeling heaps better in the morning, that way you can still come. I know what you mean about getting out of the house, especially with all the rain today!

Jenny - Well done to B sleeping on his own! It certainly makes the change easier if they are ok with it hey.

Taryn - Oh i am green with envy!! What a fantastic sleep Jacey did for you! Is that the norm for her now?

Amity has been telling me for the past few days that her toe is sore but every time i looked she just had a few little sores that i assumed were from playing at day care with no shoes on BUT it turns out she actually has a plantar wart on the side of her big toe :barf: . Im going to make an appointment to take her to the docs tomorrow. They will either give us some cream or burn it off with dry ice.

BrendansMum - glad the weathers nice in sydney - same here on the gold coast. Sounds like you had a nice time yesterday with your friend. Nice to get out and about - especially while the weathers so good! Glad B's been good with the change of sleeping arrangements. Can be a little worrisome - but he seems to be doing really well. Hope he keeps it up for you.

Kellie - sorry to say, but the pics didn't work for me either. Just make sure you highlight the one that says URL on you own page of photobucket.... Can't wait to see them!

Sheree - hope your happy with the cranberry ergo... It looks nice on the pics that i've seen (in the advertising of them)... A is going well with the weight - shame they didn't measure her. Maybe next time you can make sure they do - just nice to know, but I am sure all is fine.

Tazzystone - sounds like you had a nice 'ME' day yesterday. It feels great having your hair and nails done hey. Hope you have a good trip away... Lucky Thing!!!

Lana - sorry to hear about A's planter wart. They can be really sore. I've never had one, but my sister has - and she said it could get very sore. I think she has probably picked it up from Kindy or something. Hope the Dr's appoint goes fine.

All fine this end. Ellery went down well last night - big 12 hour sleep (YEAH)...:yelclap: Probably going to pac.fair today. Take MIL for a look around and also get DP's fathers day gift. Haven't got a pic yet of the dress - but will be sure to. I haven't started mine, that'll happen one day.. ha ha.. have to do it whilst i remember Norma's instructions..... She is going to my SIL's tomorrow - so not alot of time - but i can always ring her in times of trouble.

Not much else happening - need to get organised for the day ahead.... Glad all bubbas are doing well.

Hi B'sMum,

Monty looks soooooooo cute sleeping. B always sleep that way too, with both arms open occupying the whole cot. BtW, Monty has the same play gym as B.
Frog calls it the "Arch de Triumph" Toadlet entertains himself with it on my bed while I have a shower and dry my hair. lately he's been trying to eat it.

Shezi.. New Avatar! Very cute.

lana , Monty's insisors are coming through too. He was ok yesterday which is good. Nice having my giggly happy toadlet back.

Who was the naughty nasty mummy who said to give their baby chunks of fruit to chew on????? own up!! I gave Monty a peice of apple and he went beserk when I took it away! Not good for a greedy fat little piggy to be having more food. I've also stopped giving him heinz fruit cause the day after eating it he gagged on his lamb and vegetables which he loved previously. Looks like he may be a sweet addict.

kel you can call me what ever you like. LT, Hollie, Toad or Bzzz. Your avatar looks excellent too.

Everyone's babies are looking so grown up.

Who elses baby doesnt have hair? LL?? Is Harper still bald like Monty?

Tarn, I bet your excited about your mum and dad coming back home. I cant wait to see my Dad. I Haven't seen him for nearly 2.5 years. 9 days left!!

Have fub shopping Mel.

I caved and Monty gave Frog his fathers day present on the weekend. After one night of not being able to get it working Frog is now very pleased with his present and has more fun "shooting down toads" with his headset.

Oh!! and drum roll!! Toadlet has now been asleep for 12 hours 40!!!!.
His record before that was 11.50 and hes only had 3 x 11 hour sleeps before. Usually 8 - 10 hours.
He woke up 2 and cried for a while but went back to sleep. Love my sleepy toadlet! Amazing how long a toadlet can go without food surviving off those fat reserves.

oh dammit I still don't think they work. I just don't get it...I go to photobucket first highlight the pictures I want, I write down the url code on paper? than go back to bubhub, write my post, press the little globe thingy and then type in the code I copied. Is that it? Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way??

Kel, It may be that you need to make your photos available to the public?
otherwise it wont let anyone but you and your approved contacts see them.

Kellie rather than having to write them down and type them in you can just highlight the ones you want, right click on it with your mouse and click on copy. Then go to your new post, right click and click on paste.

Hollie you must be so excited to see your dad. i am a daddy's girl too :D he is loving being a grandad, says he must have been too tired when we were babies to notice all the little things he sees in Harper. not that he gets much cuddles when my stepmum is around, my little sis told her she is a baby hog!! (not that i mind, i never have to hold him when i go there lol)

i read that before reading Shezi's comment before it...

I had a giggle

Shezi, grab A's bottom inside the pouch bit and wiggle her around so she sits right in the back of it,
Slip your hands eiether side of her legs.
Have her legs bent a bit too.
babies are pretty flexible so their hips can spread.

Hello

Only read a couple of pages while E was eating cereal but she was more interested in Ellery's pics! She is beautiful Mel & I luv the purple lounge suite!

Lana, I am sooo jealous as I have not yet received my fluffy mail which i ordered on 20th! Yours was so quick!

How long is fluffy mail ... or anything from the internet supposed to take as getting worried.

Had nappy party yesterday ... spent $329! (Oops there goes the rest of my cc lol). Haven't told Dave though lol. Anyway, I got:

http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/shop/proddetail.php?prod=part-timepackage

Plus:

2 of these: http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/shop/products.php?cat=66

Plus:

1 of these: http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/shop/proddetail.php?prod=bamboobooster

And I get a free nappy so far so either a hemp, bamboo or magic-all or a pul wrap.

Oh & i also ordered 1 of these for night time:

http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/shop/products.php?cat=28

With the 10 bamboo nappies I got one of each colour plus 2 extra natural & 2 extra pink. I got natural for wool cover & with pul ones i got 1 pink & 1 purple.

I am so excited to get them!!!! YAY!!!

Busy day today also as had KM then went to the Point for picnic lunch, i got calamari rings & chips. Ella had a massive sleep last night - down at 4.45pm, woke at 6.45am! Then was up 1/2 hour or bit more & slept 2 - 2.5 hours then another half hour all before 10.30!!!

Mel, yes GP said def CTS. Thanks anyhoo.

LT - Will let u know how we go, haven't booked appt yet. (Been spending too much on other things lol).

Gin, never found out why about bbq last Sunday. He is still being a pooh face! Mum told me they have Mr Grumpy shirts (and other Mr Men) in Just Jeans atm lol. SHould get him that for his b'day! Apparently men get the equivalent of PMS and it fits right in once a month but lasting longer this time. I had a bad dream last night he left me. It's not like he would do that but I was so upset dreaming about it iykwim. We were told yesterday at party we don't need to soak the nappies (terry ones) & just wash every 2 days cos napisan ruins the fibres in them. Mum doesn't believe me LOL get with the times! HAHA.

Sheree - I hope you are feeling better this arvo. Glad to hear its not gastro too, thats the last thing you need when you have the 3 girls to look after!
We had a really good time today (when Amity wasnt terrorising the babies!) What day did you order your babylegs Sheree?? And did you get them from Ekidna Kidswear?

Michaela - Ooh yeah! I really wanted to look at how that all worked too, i completely forgot lol. What a bugger about Harper only having a tiny sleep. Griff fell asleep in the car twice but didnt have a sleep until this arvo (he is in bed at the moment and SH!T he just woke up!)
I hope that Amity didnt terrorise Harper too much. Maybe thats why he didnt sleep, too scared!

Carrie - Sounds like you had a great time and you got some great deals. I bet you cant wait until they arrive! When you ordered your other mcn's where did you order them from? i know a lot of people are waiting on more stock of the Bumgenius ones so maybe that is why yours are taking so long.

Kellie - The pics are great! Noah is adorable, he has beautiful eyes.

Sharon - Great stats for Matthew. His stats are really similar to Griffs except Griff was a little bit heavier just on 6 months.

Im off to grab DP's fathers day card tonight and im going to the shops ALONE! :smiliedance: I will be able to in and out with no screaming children. Absolute Bliss:D

Hey Ladies,

The ergo looks fantastic! Great pics too of mums and bubs modelling them!

Bloody Day Care germs have attacked Madi again! I didn't send her this week as she has bronculitis (sp?). She had her appointment with the paed yesterday and he confirmed it and said the cough is going to last for the next 2 months - yes 2 months!! And there is nothing I can give her to get better. The only option is if I take her out of day care for 4 - 6 weeks. Which isn't going to happen as I have to start horrible work this coming Monday. I am feeling very bad for her as the cough has been keeping her awake all night. But we'll see how she goes next week, but I agree with Shezi and Lana about blaming day care for everything.

They are great stats of the bubs weights, poor Madi is tiny compared to everyone else, she is weighing in at 6.9kgs and 63cm in lenght. The paed said this is average that she looks fine to him. I am just looking forward to her putting on weight so we can turn the car seat around.

Finally found a fruit Madi likes, fresh mashed up bananna. She goes crazy for this each morning and still eating all her veges for dinner. I am going to introduce meats next month. Hopefully that will cut down her feeds - she still has about 6 - 7 bottles a day but only drinks on average 120ml each feed.

Sorry for the me post, I read everyone's posts but don't know where to start. Hope everyone is having a good time!

Hiya Ladies,

Another sunny day in Sydney today. We went out with MG to Lindt chocolate shop (yum!) and had lots of yummy stuffs and good chats. One of the bubs came with sunglasses on him sitting up in his pram...aw, he just looked so grown-up and adorable! B's new teeth got a lot of attention too, everybody wanted to see them. He loved it at first, flashing his new pegs around, but then got tired of it and kept his mouth close tight! Olala....

Stopped by the Maritime Museum on our way back and got a very cute glove with faces in the fingers, very cute.

Kel ~ Noah is so cute and has really expressive eyes! I love his chubby cheeks too. Re. sippy cup, I usually offer it to B on afternoon after solids (water inside). He loves to chew the soft spout and holding it, but not really sucking properly from it yet.

Sheree ~ Beautiful pic of you and A in ergo. The critters is very pretty as well. How are you & kiddies feeling now? BtW, did you loose weight? You look very slim in the photo

Lana ~ Poor A her toe must be really sore. How's your shopping alone? I bet it's nice.

Mel ~ Yay for E big sleep! What did you get for DP at the end?

Hollie ~ Sounds like Monty is a really independent boy, he can entertain himself for so long. B is quite content to look around when we go outside, but when we're at home I pretty much have to entertain him all the time. Heavy maintenance!

 it's so funny re. Monty & apple. It's me who mentioned yesterday that B's dietitian included cut fruit in his meal plan. I plan to call her today to confirm about it plus ask several other questions, but been busy hadn't got a chance to do it. Yay for Monty loooooong sleep, very smart boy!

Carrie ~ Wow, sounds like you're full steam on cloth now! Well done with the purchase.

Michaela ~ Good to hear that you & H had a good nap. Hope it sticks tonight.

M2B ~ Poor Madi, she really has gone through a lot hey? It must be a big worry especially with you starting work so soon and such.

Can't believe it'll be Friday tomorrow, this week has gone very fast. Have a good night, Ladies!

oh, i'm glad i'm not the only one with a lil attention-seeker. he is hard work some days. i will go down the shops even if i need nothing (always find something to buy hahaha) just to get him out of the house!

Harper just tried potato for the 1st time, great fun sticking his fingers into his mouth then flicking it on me. gross. i think he swallowed some  i think he's a sweet tooth like me, he loves his pear and apple. i havent found any difference in his sleeping since starting food - i reckon thats just another myth. the only difference is those disgusting poos!!!

My new favourite photo! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7918637@N06/1275107959/)

My little ugly duckling toadlet is starting to look quite cute.
I think it helps daddy has a really good camera. Another pic of toadlet (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7918637@N06/1275973460/in/photostream/)

BMum.. was that the Lindt shop in the city? My arch nemesis works in that building.

M2B, shame you have to go back to work when Maddi isn't very well.
Cant believe she has so many bottles! Toadlet has mostly 5 (or 4) but they are all 250 mls.

CarrieB .. luck you with all those new nappies.

Hi R&M'sMum. Is Ryan being better behaved?

Fantastic pics Kel. Noah is very adorable.

Shezi, toadlet falls asleep in his Ergo as soon as I put the hood up, almost instantly. I love peeking down at his sleepy face.

lana enjoy your lonesome shopping trip.

How ,many nappies are you call going thropgh a day now? Toadlet does 6. Makes it better with washing now too, only one load per day instead of 2.
i still havent had a leaked nappy or poo explosion.

Hollie - Monty looks good enough to eat in all those pics. He really is a cutey pie!

Griff goes through around 6 - 10 nappies per day because disposables just dont hold all his wee! At night i have to change him at his 11-12ish feed and then again at his 4.30 - 5ish feed otherwise he will wake up saturated! He is fine during the day though.

Jenny - Lindt chocolate!? You luck thing you! *drooling*

Nic - Poor Madi. Its horrible seeing them sick all the time isnt it. I know its probably not any comfort to you at the moment but it will get better. Amity was the same in her first 6 or so months. Plus it doesnt help that she has started in the cooler months. :hugs: for Madi

Well i didnt end up going to the shops because by the time DP got him from having his hair cut i couldnt be bothered. Both kiddies were grumpy and i was trying to get Griff to sleep. Never mind, i will just pop in after work tomorrow.

lana yep the order was through ekidna kidswear.. on the 26th. i wasn't expecting them so fast! what did you order? i only had 2pairs of baby legs and a small puzzle maybe thats why mine was quicker??

im still waiting on the mattress protector thingys.. i cant remember when i ordered them tho so i dont know how long its been..

aww hollie i can see why that is your fave pic! monty's a stunner!!

jenny you're my new best friend!:D you made my night! hehe. im down to 60kg.. 5 to go. but im 1kg less than what i was when i fell preg with A. just need to get rid of the weight i gained while preg with D.
we're much better now. altho i think D is a bit off..

girls guess what.. i realised today that the skin on my stomach has cellulite in it  its also heaps thinner than it used to be.. what the flip is going on?! its cruel! is this the result of having 3 pregnancies in 3years? geez if i knew that.. lol nah they're worth it. im just annoyed coz my stomach was the one part of my body i liked.. damn it! plastic surgeon here i come! ;)

hollie A likes to attack my in the ergo.. i have little hands stretching out to get my neck and go for my face haha

Nic i dont think madi is tiny at all! im not sure of A's length but she's a shorty!! she weighs 7.3kg fully clothed.. i'll have her proper stats next week once i've been to the health nurse. if it was upto length A would still be in 000! lol
sorry to hear about madi being unwell. are there any other options to daycare? what about a shared nanny or family daycare.. if you lived in WA i'd watch her!!

i cant believe you go through so many nappies!! what brand do you use? i use huggies and probably go through 5 a day and only the overnight one is soaked(but not leaking). i remember when D stopped b/f and went to water at 11months.. she could be in the same nappy for 24hours and it wouldnt leak  not that we tried! but she was in the same one from morning till bath time and it was hardly wet.
